Yep, we are applying for pre-school for 2014 already and you apply for primary school when they turn 4!!

Charn - we are looking at a Montessori as well as another - going next week

Well, Dakota sat on her own for a whole 30secs today (and I managed to get it all on video!!)

Unfort, the 2 supplement syrups that the paed prescribed are making her so sick, so am stopping them (she even brought it up 2 hours after having it, so there goes her cereal & formula!!)
And she has a rash all over but I don't know if it's the heat, the syrups or the cereal
Plus she is so snotty and congested - shame, my poor little thing!

Well would you look at this my little Kaelyn has made it to the semi finals!!!

Kerry, it appears that is the trend!! Shocking, I know!! I called the preschool that I want to send Emily to and they said that they are quite busy at the moment getting everyone settled for the new year. But, they advised that I come and look at the school in Feb and if I am happy with it, I should put her on the list for 2014!!! Thank Goodness for Moomie because I would never have guessed that people are applying this early. There are 3 preschools that I am looking at for Emily (all Montessori system), so I will be visiting all of them next month - unbelievable.

Sheesh so what you are telling us is we should start looking now to get our little ones into pre-school... at what 3 yrs.... wow

we've applies at 1 pre-school and are going to look at another 2 next week - they are already taking applications for 2014

Robyn, have you contacted any of the schools yet? What are their current waiting lists like? I am still struggling with the idea of having to discuss schools already.

Re: Bumbo Seat, we have the play tray, but I accidentally "pinched" her leg in there and have not used is since!! Perhaps I should give it a try again.

Hi ladies

Girly - I'm back at work early June (day after my birthday!)
I took 10months, but we can take up to a year mat leave at Woolies

Dakota is now having 2 teaspoons of cereal with almost every meal, but is struggling to finish her bottles now

Charn - D also loves her Bumbo seat - I bought the tray that fits on it so we can put toys, food etc and she can't get out of it, so maybe try that

I bought a weaning bowl & spoon today for her cereal

Can't wait

Busy discussing schools - it's so frustrating with the 'Catchment' area nonsense!! SO we are 'working out' how to get into the catchment areas for the schools we are looking at -
1st choice - Wynberg (my husband works from a house near Wynberg so we are going to speak to his boss about us 'living' there)
2nd choice - Sweet Valley (my mom lives close to Sweet Valley although she is closer to Bergvliet but we will use her add)
3rd choice - Kirstenhof (we live right by Kirstenhof, so that's fine)

and looking at the prices - SCARY STUFF - esp for private schools!!
