Charnenay, I will also be enrolling Izibella next week. The pre-school I want to send her too is very popular and people wait 3 years to get in. I am not chancing it. Though she will only start when she's 3.

Robyn - what preschool you enrolling at? 2013 - won't they only be 2 turning 3 then? why do you have to enrol so early?

As for the walking ring/bouncer combo, I wanted to get the one at Woolies, but thanfully they had one on display the day I wnet to buy it and it just looked so cheap and it cost R1500, so quite pricey! I just ended up taking my sister's one for the meantime since I also can't find one that I REALLY like. So, I'm not really sure where she bought it, will have to ask her.

First she puts the arms in crawl mode and stretched forward and reaches out... then she goes with the legs... i think give it a week and she will have more control but its definately there. oh so very cute.

Kerry, had to laugh at the 90% mad dash .....

We also use Prodol. And the whole family (big sisters and ouma included) tried it out on their tongues before Iz had some. And it really numbs it down!

Robyn_c - so mine and yours were born on the same day , also for the teething tried something different this weekend coz Kaelyn was really struggling, its called Prodol... tried it myself and oh boy does it numb your mouth... but it doesn't last very long... oh and you hava to ask at clicks as it seems its an otc drug... LOL

Girly - re the walking ring, ours is like charnenay's a rocker too, we use it to feed her in as she seems to prefer to stand than sit, but she still spends more time playing on the floor or out of it... but if you need a break it works. Also K is just about crawling... she manages to move forward at a good pace, it just looks a bit funny as its only moderately co-ordinated, its 90% mad dash and 10% concentration. hope your little one is feeling better, its terrible when they are battling like that.

EileenB - Yeah i agree... we spoke to our PAED about the tea and she said absolutely not before nine months, even without the sugar, it binds to the iron in their system and then they can become anaemic as they cant absorb iron. we then took this to the MIL who now gives her a feeds worth of what i am told is plain water each day but i still suspect sugar. Every day when we fetch her she makes a point of telling me how much water she got Kaelyn to drink, the way i see if they needed it you wouldn't have to force feed it to them, with or without the sugar.

The day mom was okay, nothing special, Hubby got a fright when we walked out and i said while i don't like they daymom i prefer her to his mom... he suddenly realised just how bad things were, so he wants to go to his mom today without me and sit down and tell her that weve priced a day mom she only costs us R200 more than his mom and if his mom really wants to look after Kaelyn she has to respect my wishes and listen when we make the few requests we do make.

See thing is the day mom issued us a list of things that she wanted to know our preference on, which his mom has never even brought up, and suddenly he realised that the day mom had a point about the issues...

We will see how things go from here, but i don't hold high hopes about the MIL she's to old & set in her ways and way way too stubborn.

Weekend came and went

Luckily only 1 week left, then I'll have my little nunu all to myself again.

Iz still refuses all forms of solids, she sometimes gives us a glimmer of hope, but the next time we try it quickly fades.

We have Iz in her walking ring and she loves every moment, she is closer to the doggies, and she motors in hers, both her feet actually touch the floor now. Both my girls were in walking rings, Abby walked on her 1st birthday and Grace walked at 10 months.

Iz also realised that tummy time isn't something mommy invented to punish her! She actually loves spending time on her tummy now. Even pulls her legs up.

Kerry, I understand your frustration. My mom gave Iz tea on Friday...wait for it....but added a bit of SUGAR...cause she didn't want it without....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I almost had heart failure! I felt like grabbing my child and running for the hills. But I have to suffer it out for another 5 days.

Iz is also suffering with the teething idea, but they still MIA. We use Prodol, only thing that works for her.

Girly, let's hope this is your week, that you get the phone call to say you've got the job you wanted!

I have also been advised against a walking ring before Dakota can sit un-aided, so will have to think about it

I want to get the Walker/Rocker combo as well - Charn, which one have you got and where did you get it?
I've only seen 2 at Toys R Us (Baby City don't have any combos)

I'm also struggling to find Ashton's & Parsons or that other teething gel (Panseril or something like that) Teejel doesn't seem to be working too well for D but thankfully she's still sleeping thru and is only having hassles during the day

This evening we filled in some applications for Pre-School for 2013 (yikes!!!!) - so much pressure for the interviews when she's 2 cos it's more about the parents than the kids then - don't want to let my baby down! :o(

Am having a big fight with Baby City - on Sat I bought a jumper (the one you hang in the doorway) but when I got home hubby said he would rather buy a walking ring (the walker/rocker) so I took it back (completely unopened) this morning (less than 24hrs later) but they said no refunds, only exchanges. When I kicked up a stink about that, they said I could get a voucher. I said I want to get the combo, but they don't get those, only the normal walking rings. Then I got angry and told the manager that if they refuse to give my money back and are forcing me to buy from them, then they have to get what I want to buy (and Toys R Us have 2 makes of the combo, so they must go buy from them and then I'll get it) So the mgr said she will speak to the head office tom morning and let me know. (she wanted me to leave the jumper with her but I said I'm taking it with me as I wouldn't have any proof of it and I'm not jsut going to trust them)
I'm not holding out much hope, but we'll see...
