Morning girls

Sorry I've been so scarce. Spent the last 3 days sending my CV in for job applications. I've probably applied for 50 jobs and gone to every job website I know and bought the cape times on Monday.
I've already had a few rejections which is disappointing but I have to carry on, dont have much choice. Applied for a really nice one in Somerset west. Its far away but against the flow of traffic so really hope they at least want to see me for a second interview.

Eileen your girls sound like a handful! But its so rewarding watching them grow up and doing well. Sounds like you can be proud of your primadonnatjie. She is just going through the teenage thing now. Wait till the PMS starts! I was such a bitch to my parents when I was a teenager I cannot believe my behaviour. I think I must've hurt them pretty bad.

Babyks mom are you expressing while at work? Are you still going to bf at night / mornings? I have K on one bottle of formula a day to get her used to the taste. She did ok with the Nan but I changed it to S26 and shes not interested. Whether I express or not will depend on where I work and if there is space. Plus the pump is so noisy! But I've come to terms with maybe needing to give formula during the day. At least she still gets breastmilk from me the rest of the time.

Robyn same here! And she doesnt like the teethers they seem to aggrevate things. I got her purity teething biscuits but she cant hold them properly to put the end in her mouth herself so it only helps as long as I'm sitting there holding it. And its a messy business!

With K we have to still wrap the blanket around her lower body or she will kick it off. She really doesnt like it. So now I'm putting leggings on her and letting her sleep without the blanket at night its easier.
Seems our babies all love to stand!

Now that K has learnt to roll from her back to her tummy she just loves to do it! I really have to watch her now and put extra soft blankets on the ground incase she rolls off her playgym.
She can roll from tummy to back but isnt too interested. This is all quite good for her cos shes landing up on her tummy a lot more often and great exercise.
She's sitting very nicely with support too. Yesterday I had her feeding pillow around her back and she was leaning ever so slightly on the one side and holding the other side with her hand and she was sitting without the usual back support.
Also getting frustrated with her bumbo almost like it gives too much support. She lifts her bum out of it. I think I may have to look at a proper feeding chair now cos with the bumbo she leans out of it to the side and makes feeding extra difficult!

I dont know whats up but K just isnt interested in late afternoon solids. I manage about half of it but she gags on it a lot. Yet in the morning there's no gagging.

Finally last night, after 3 weeks of waking at midnight, K slept till 4am and then again till 7:30. What bliss! Although I feel exhausted now!

Robyn thats a long wait! Dont know how you do it! So if youre waiting till 3 for trying, you may have a 4 year gap?

I have Iz with me this morning at work..

I decided to try the cereal thing again last night, different spoon. Well, Iz decided she's a little birdie. You have to drop the cereal in her open mouth! And you gotto keep it coming!!!! At least no more jaws of life to get her mouth open. MIL bought her a nice spoon gadget with an extension where u pour the baby food in, and squeeze it onto the spoon , gonna try that one tonight, seeing that she throws a strop every time the flow of food stops.

So I covered what feels like 10 000 books last night. And it was only 1 childs'.

BabyKsmom, we sure have a little missy here. And things is being made worse with her receiving a trophy for most promising ballerina also this year. So she really thinks she's all that!

Iz got this fake cough! If she feels neglected she starts coughing! Manipulators I tell you!

Hi ladies, I'm busy expressing my last time for today. Its become so tedious, I'm looking forward to giving up the pump when J is 6 months old, although I would love to give him b/m for longer, but I think 6 and a half months is a good start.

Oooo Eileen, looks like you have a primadonna on your hands! I remember that age though, I thought I was the bees knees and nothing could touch me. I got stripped down a few notches when I started high school though
Iz sounds like such a cutie pie!
All the girls seem very advanced, I remember reading somewhere that girls tend to reach milestones earlier than boys. John is doing things at his own pace but every week I notice changes and improvements

waiting for a tooth any day - shame, Dakota sticks everything in her mouth, feverishly chewing away

am I the only one waiting til 6months for solids?
also waiting for then to give Dakota water and other food to chew on

She cannot sleep unless on her tummy (otherwise she's too distracted looking around) and rolls over so much that I have to tuck her blanket in the cot (and put a wedge next to her)

she rolls from tummy to back and vice versa and grabs for everything she wants (she loves the DSTV remote!!)
she can almost hold her own bottle and loves standing up and 'walking' (doesn't really like sitting, so no sitting alone just yet)

I've taken away her dummy (from 3months) and she does NOT fall asleep in the car or the pram unless she is extremely tired and has missed a sleep and then she will scream for a while before she falls asleep - she has to be in her own bed

but she is very niggly the past 2 days - must be her teeth, but she struggles to hold onto her teethers as they are big and heavy (there's one light one, but she normally just ends up with her fist in her mouth)

we are waiting til D is 3 before trying for no2 (when we have moved into our bigger house)

So the coastal school started this morning...phew, in the nick of time!

Just realised this morning again that teenagers are a totally different breed of human being.

Somewhere, somehow Abigail crowned herself Queen of the Belcher household! Starting Gr 7 today, last year of Primary School, being a prefect put her on such a power trip she is impossible to live with! Poor Grace gets yelled and snarled at for even looking at her. This morning I drove them to school, thought I'd do the good mom thing and ask whether they want me to go in with them...HUGE MISTAKE! Was made very clear to me that I am no longer needed in that department. Then Abigail gave me a quick kiss and jumped out of the car, grabbed her bag from the boot and yelled at her sister to close the boot cause she's late! (Prefects have to be at school @ 7, it was 6:50) By then I had enough, called her back and snarled at her in my sweetest lowest voice to EVER try that stunt again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jeepers! What happened to starting the school year nice and calm? Abigail looks like she's being tortured on the pictures we took this morning.

Ok, enough complaining about the tweens. My gorgeous, precious Izibella thought 3 o'clock would be a nice time to play this morning!!!!!!!! I now have to remove everything in her campcot, cause when I woke up, she was chewing on her wedge, which I put at the foot end. Being a funny bunny she then showed off her rolling skills and ended her show with pulling her legs up in a crawling position for the first time! Clever monkey that one, she knew if she brought out the big guns mom would forgive anything!

Girly, any feedback on applications?

Kerry, Iz is 6 days older than K. She was born on the 20th.

Charnenay, that's so oulik! These poppies are getting so cute!

Eileen - definitely sounds like lots of fun

I am so chuffed with my Emily. She usually falls asleep on her own in her cot - you have to give her a dummy and her "haasie poppie" and she HAS to be laying on her tummy (only other way she has ever fallen asleep on her own is when being pushed in her pram or driving in the car. And NEVER without her dummy. Well, my mom just called to let me know that she and Emily were laying on my bed, my mom was reading a book and she gave Emily one of her baby books to "read" as well. Emily was laying there on her back (no dummy because she is only allowed to get the dummy when she is going to sleep), then, after a while, she went quiet, dropped the book, slowly closed her eyes and fell asleep on her back with no haasie poppie and no dummy!!! I am so proud of her
