Sorry for being MIA - hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year

Dakota is doing well - she's rolling over all the time, grabbing toys and has def started teething

When are you starting rice cereal/solids?
and what is your daily routines?

Glad to see everyone is back on the forum!!! I stopped posting because it felt llike I was talking to myself

Being back at work has not been so bad after all. So far, I have not worked full days though. Worked from 9-1 on Tuesday and 9-12 yesterday. Today, my boss is back at the office, so staying a bit later to catch up but it is still so dead quiet that I will probably leave after 2ish.

Emily and my mom are doing great, she is used to seeing my mom everyday in any case, so not a huge adjustment for her. The only part I don't like is that she has been going straight back to sleep after her morning bottle and stays asleep until 9:30, so I don't even get to play with her before I leave Called my mom and apparently Emily is watching the cricket and getting very excited when they clap hands

Congrats on the tooth baby Armand and congrats baby Liam on holding your own bottle - thats really awesome

I found RobynC on Facebook, I searched for her and matched the pic to the one she had on here, so I am sure it's the same person. I mentioned who I was, but, she never accepted my request??? I can see she's been active on Facebook though and there are pics of her baby, so all seems well. Guess she only wanted to chat during her pregnancy maybe????

We started Emily on cereal again, just once a day and only once she has finished her 5 bottles for the day and she seems to be doing ok. Going to take her to the paed in about 3 weeks time for her 6 month check - up. She is still not interested in turning herself over at all - is she the only one who is not turning yet?????

Am actually enjoying getting back into the swing of things at work, so will see how it goes before making any drastic decisions. I was thinking of going the independent contractor route and working half days, but I haven't mentioned it to my boss yet as she just got back today and she is talking about exposing me to other areas and a possible promotion, so now I'm not sure??? We are looking to buy a house at the moment, so a promotion and salary increase will sure come in handy. decisions, decisions.....

Well, hope we get chatting a bit more now

Kaelyn is back to her old routine... the solids have made such a difference in her...

Congrats on the toothies those of you who have em... i don't think my little ones far behind... she really fusses over her gums. not that it hurts her but its causing floods of druel...

hope everyone who is back at work is doing okay and those of you still at home enjoy it while it lasts... its over so very ver soon.

I'm officially back at the office and it SUCKS!!!! i'm thinking of just seeing this year through and motivate that i work half day from next year (with a salary cut).

Liam's got two little teethies and it is so adorable - he actually discovered that it hurts if you bite to hard on your own finger
And he is holding his own bottle when drinking his milk. he is sucha sweetie a real easy kiddie, love him to bits! ooo and now after his second tooth he started sleeping through (from 20:00-06:30) fxfx that it will stay that way.

Girly, I'm so glad to hear you and K are doing so much better! Have you tried formula again? And good luck for tomorrow! I hope for you that you get offered a great job but you only need to start in March - then maximum time with your baby girl
I know, I've also been wondering about Robyn C? I thought maybe she was offline while on maternity leave so she might be back at work soon? Anybody know how she is doing?

Wow Blessed that is awesome that Armand has his 1st tooth and without too much fuss! Johnny gums his fists and teething toys alot and seems to be in pain sometimes too so we've used pansoral and teegel and ashtons & parsons but no sign of a tooth yet, although his canines seem quite swollen in his gums so we've been joking that maybe we have a vampire baby on our hands and he'll get those teeth first

Otherwise all is well, ja BabyZee, this is a fantastic stage I think, they are so responsive and taking in everything like a computer uploading new data, its so incredible to be a part of it. Shame, sorry about your nanny problems, that's really unprofessional of her. I hope your mom has arrived now?

We started on rice cereal last week and he is loving it but still hungry so I think I'm going to increase to twice a day. I'll wait and see if he wakes up hungry again tonight.

Charns, how's work going? Hope the days go fast so you can be home with your baby quickly Is Emily still only on milk or have you tried solids again?

Kerry, good luck with going back to work next week and good luck with going over everything this week with your mil
I know what you mean re: routine, even though we didn't go away we had streams of family lunches/ dinners/ festivities over the whole Xmas period and Johnny was all Christmas'd out by the end of it. He is normally a really happy smiley baby but by the 27th December he cried when he met new people for the 5th day running. All is back to "normal" now thank goodness. It was stressful for DH and me, we couldn't relax like we usually do. But we made up for it on NYE. We went to friends and stayed over in their garden cottage and Johnny slept well and didn't wake up until 5am so both mom and dad had a great time and let our hair down a bit. Needless to say I had a sore head on Saturday but it was so good to have a bit of raucous laughter and relax time.

My friend had her baby girl on the 26th Dec (we joke that her and John will get married one day, lol) and she is so perfect and so small. She is smaller than John was but I still can't believe that he used to be so tiny. He is growing so well and feels heavier all the time.

Blessed so nice to hear from you & congrats on the tooth! There are no signs of teeth from little girly yet. Just lots of saliva which she chokes / coughs on a lot.

K is better on the tummy now but still only for a short while. She pushes up nice and high and she does a lepoard crawl kind of thing but her arms arent strong enough so lands up pushing her head into the blanket while doing it and then I have to come to the rescue. Too cute though

Charnenay hows the feeding going? Trying solids again?
Ditto on clothes shopping! I did it this week (in case) only prob is my pants are a size bigger, seems my bum has gotten bigger boohoo So off to weight watchers this weekend.

I have Minamoo on facebook, she seems to be doing well.

We had a lovely holiday in Gordons Bay. It was a week long but way too short! In laws loved having her there, and gave her loads of attention and love. It was so nice for me because during the day I sometimes took naps, and other times just vegged in front of the tv. Whats really nice is that they got to see her in her routine and got to know how she is and what she needs when, like when its nap time to leave her be and not interact with her etc. So now its x10 easier to drop her off if we want to go out and know she's getting the best attention possible.
It was sooo windy out there though. It was 40km/hr pretty much the entire time we were there, sometimes even more. So we hardly left the house except to go to the mall & for lunch. The house we were at is situated on a golf course so not many houses surrounding it. Because of this the sound of the wind was quite unbearable and we struggled to sleep at night.
I used to live in Gordons Bay, but I dont remember the wind being so loud before!

So its hard to believe that a month ago is when I had my meltdown. The last month she's turned around completely! She hardly cries unless she's needing something and I'm not responding, or if she has wind or something which is seldom. She's friendly and happy a lot of the time, and quite content mostly. We still have some days / hours that are bad but in general I am so proud of her! Hard to believe that I was so near breaking point. I have even stopped the meds the doctor gave me cause I dont feel I need them. Touch wood of course but I am so glad that hurdle is over!
She is starting to hold things nicely with both hands. Everything goes straight to her mouth. I need to buy elastic bands to tie to her playgym toys so that she can pull them to her mouth. She gets frustrated if she cant put something in her mouth.

Got loads of toys for Christmas, we are truely spoilt! They will last nicely the next few months. Sitting nicely with support. She needs just the tiniest bit of support and is able to keep herself upright. But the second I take my hand away she falls right back. But if I put her lying on her feeding pillow and elevate it slightly, she practically sits on her own. Month 5 is going to be a big one!

Busy busy with getting my CV registered on job sites, getting UIF sorted out, doctors visits etc. I have an interview with a recruitment agency tomorrow. They specialise in shipping industry so hopefully they have something good for me.
Have not heard back from the other company yet but I know some of the staff only return to work on Monday, and they were going to be interviewing people this week still so I'm trying to be patient, and no point in stressing cos its out of my hands.
I would like to be employed by Feb, but I do have until March until the money runs out. I really would like to know that I have secured an income before it does though.

So now you know ALL about whats up with me!

Charnenay i also have the same problem with Fayaz re: eating he screams when i give him rice cereal but he loves fruit so far i have given him banana, pawpaw & Avo and he loves it, i tried butternut and he did not like it, so i will continue with the fruits and introduce food slowly.

Ladies i have some pretty disturbing news i am actually pissed off my nanny says she has to go to Zim to visit her kids, she never mentioned this before i have to be at work tomorrow morning, so she comes with a cousing and says she will be assisting and she has to leave on Wednesday i am just so angry there is nothing i can do because i need to be at work i cannot take any more days off. She is definately not coming back to my house i will have to find another person this is not on, luckily my mom is coming to visit on Thursday we are just waiting for her VISA please keep your fingers crossed for me that she gets it before then.

For those going back to work all the best and for the SAHM's i wish you a happy time with your babies they are at a great stage now getting very interactive.
