HI mammas!

Your kiddo's are average weight if you ask me. Not too fat or too thin.
K weighs 9kgs at 18 months. She is small, but her doctors aren't the least bit worried about her, she has a healthy appetite mostly and she is active and not fatigued, which in her condition is more than we can ask for!

Kerry how low is your cot? I could definitely not leave K without the side up, she will roll out of it the amount she moves in the night.

Haha so funny the things our kiddies say. Kaylee's favourite is Sies and Siesa.
She says it when we change her diaper, or put anything in the bin, or if she finds anything on the floor. But sometimes she'll point at a mole on my arm and say Sies, lol!
She also learnt this at the creche, as well as Klaar cos we dont speak afrikaans here. She also loves to say 'hmmmm hmmm' whenever she sees any 'yummy' food or even in a picture.

Re teeth, Kaylee also has too many to count now. On the bottom she has the incisors, and the molars behind those, so 8 on the bottom. On top she has one incisor, and one molar, plus the 4 front ones, so thats 6. So I'm guessing she has 14 teeth and the 2nd top incisor is also cutting at the moment, and perhaps the molar behind it too I'm not sure now.
It's been a total breeze though, not sure if its cos of the necklace or just pure luck.

Who are you going to for your FA? I never went for any last time, just stayed with the gynae, but definitely will be going this time. The cardiologist suggested Linnie Miller.

Rifa I was on the microvil while I was breastfeeding. They say that if you are breastfeeding regularly, minimum 4 hourly day and night you are infertile. But if they start sleeping through then you have to get onto a mini pill. The microvil is the only one you can take while breastfeeding as it only contains one of the two ingredients (estrogen / progesterone) not sure which one. But the other ingredient is left out because it will dry up your milk.
The only thing with Microvil is that you have to take it within the same hour each and every day for it to be effective, and if you dont you are unsafe for a week.
So combine it with condoms if you're really unsure.
Some people like the Mirena without any hormones, but I have heard it increases the chances of ectopic pregnancy which scares me.

Flowergirl you do love organising parties It helps that you're good at it too!
This year, and many years to come, we will probably be combining it with Kaylee's cousin, who was born on 10th Aug 2011, 3 days short of a year younger than Kaylee. So while they are young, it just makes sense to combine the parties.
Have not thought any further about it though, there's still plenty time???

Wow Robyn - 8 Weeks already...

Flowergirl - K is 11kgs already... and 18 months last sunday. Don't know about the sleep... K also went through a week or two of that and it only ended last thursday night... coincidentally the first night i let her sleep with the side of the cot off. But it seems all the babys are going though a stage of that so hopefully you just have to hang in there a few more days! Sorry about the confidence booster, but i doubt it had anything to do with your figure...

Janine, kaelyn says fooofff when you take off a poo nappy... LOL i guess she must have gotten it at creche but now because she does it so do we!

No i havent even thought of planning her 2nd birthday... i think its not going to be as big an event as last year... specially if i get pregnant in the next few months, there is just no way i could possible handle that again!

Lol @ Jeanine - so far I have the venue booked and the theme chosen - that's all. But now looking for pretty ideas.

OMG - MIL’s from hell indeed - I would have been SO pissed! You ladies have my sympathy.
45 minutes in a car!! I phoned DH after just 10 and practically screamed him out of the shop (and he was buying groceries, and the ONLY reason he took even that long was because of long ques - so not even his fault)!!!!
And as for the feeding ‘advice’... maybe I have a mean streak, but here is what I would LOVE to do... Tell her about how healthy Evan is eating, that he is a good weight, and only looks thin compared to today’s generally obese society. Then drop in a few hints that maybe SHE could benefit from his eating habits.
Now, every time you get upset about it - start daydreaming about that conversation...
Might add, Willem is 18 months and only weights 10.8kg.

He is definitely teething at the moment. His one K9 is out, and I think the next K9 and the 4th molar is cutting - can only get my finger in for a split second, and it’s difficult to feel between two other teeth so, he has 12 teeth, cutting 13&14.
Ps Flowergirl - THAT is how you count - you put your finger in there, feel around, and hope that the resulting bite doesn’t draw blood (or should I say, too much blood).

Flowergirl, Willem is also going through a phase of bad sleeping, although luckily it sounds as if he is still sleeping better than Emily. He occasionally wakes up before 12, but then we just have to pop the tea bottle into his hands, and off to sleep again. Mostly his difficult time is 3-5am. By then the tea is finished, and he is prone to toss the bottle if you dare give him water... Got up at 3am this morning to get some more milk - just so that we could SLEEP - and then he decided at 4am he wants to get up... I took the first shift - and woke DH up at 5:20, so that I could sleep another hour
I laughed SO much about the Eeeuw comment!!! Real confidence booster...

Willem’s favourite is still “uh-oh” and he is now starting to say “sies” (not sure WHERE he learns it - it’s not as if I EVER use it when changing his bum). So this morning at 4am - DH is changing his bum(just wet), and Willem farts. Looks at DH with hugh eyes and says “uh-oh”, 2 seconds later, another one, followed by “sies”! (and then of course at 4:30 - I got to change a nappy...) - so now might learn “vrot”.

Our clients from the UK are here, for an ‘on-site’ visit. So till mid next week we have to work ‘their’ hours - 9-6.
It’s great only leaving home after 8am, but horrible only getting home 6:30.

BabyK, Hope John is feeling better, never nice when they are sick and miserable

Riffa, don’t joke about the 3 babies in 3 year - it happened to DH’s cousin. Her 3 kids were born July 2008, June 2009 and August 2010!!!

NOOOOO!! Please don’t mention 2nd birthday’s yet - I’m still trying to recover from the first!!!!!

OH BOY!!! flowergirl you just reminded me!!

Just wondering - am I the only crazy one or is anyone else thinking of 2nd bday party planning yet?
BTW - where is PinkMommy - she has been so quiet since going back to work!??
