Hi There Ladies.

I haven't posted much since joining! But I must say that I have really enjoyed reading the posts from all of you. It is so nice to see how you encourage eachother and give advice and are just and ear to listen!!!

Beth is getting so big so quickly, it is such a bitter sweet thing seeing her grow up! Over the last few days she has been putting two words together, which is just so cute!
Today her brother - Jason was in his jolly jumper and she tried to get passed him and couldn't. She kept moaning at him (in her own language) when eventually I clearly heard her say 'moov Yasen' it was so adorable!! She is busy teething at the moment, getting 3 teeth at one time. We have been so blessed when it comes to her teething, because the only thing that changes with her is that she sleeps more. Am praying that my son will be the same

Thanks to all the ladies who gave a reply about birth control. I must admit that I am terrified of the loop/merana! I have had no issues with my cycle and hearing what can change with the loop scares me. Am thinking of just staying on microval till Im ready to stop breastfeeding and pray that no surprises come along the way

Feeling quite discouraged today
My husband and I relocated to Port Elizabeth at the beginning of the year. I came from JHB where I was born and lived my whole life. Feeling quite lonely in this friendly city but thankful that I have my kids who keep me very busy:)
Also been trying to lose weight for the last two months. I joined weight watchers and since joining have only lost 1kg how sad is that. Im trying to eat healthy and trying to go for a 30 min walk every second day but nothing seems to be changing. Feel so frustrated that its not working

Anyway I hope you ladies have a wonderful weekend with your families and little ones!

Playdate with Girly was lovely - was nice to catch-up!!! REally, really hoping that you do not need to move out of your home.

My mom and I were saying how amazing little K is - you would never be able to tell that she had major surgery just 2 weeks ago!! She is a lovely little girl. Seems so much more calm than Emily though!!

Em's vocab is growing everyday - she now mostly uses 2 word sentences and I find that she is alot less frustrated and there are less tantrums now that she can sort of verbalise what she wants. She eats well, loves her cereal, but has to be weetbix and has to be out of a glass bowl Her dad eats weetbix EVERY morning and it started by him "sharing" with her. Now its all she eats in the morning and even asks for it! She goes to the kitchen and says: "pappa's pappies" and when we pack away the bowls, she says: "Pappa" and wants to kiss the bowls!! No-one but her and her papa are allowed to eat from those bowls either!!

She slept in my moms room last night because when I took her up for bedtime, she ran into her room, picked up her dummy, comfort doll and her pillow and ran to my moms room with it was very cute. So, I just carried her matress to my moms room and she fell asleep there. This morning I heard that she was awake from 2AM until 4Am though!!!!! So glad, she decided to pull that stunt with my mom and not me

On another note, we found a house!!!!!! Put in an offer on Monday night and got the phonecall 30 minutes later to say that it was accepted!!! There are a number of renovations that we need to do before we can move in though, and we want to include the big items with the bond cost, so we need to get everyone out to come and give us quotes before we can apply for the bond. So much stress!!! We doing a complete overhaul of the kitchen and family bathroom and some paving outside. THe rest of the items, we will do out of our pockets, but need these big quotes in before we can apply for bond. Please keep fingers and toes crossed that our bond will be approved.

The house is REALLY old, but a lovely size, with lovely grounds outside as well for expansion. I also love the area, and lots of good schools and daycares in walking distance!! Bonus.

At least the week is halfway through already!

Dakota eats very well - will try anything, even if she gets the 'grlls' (you know, the little shudder with a funny face, like she's just eaten a lemon) she'll try again til she's used to the flavour

JB - D is the same as K - she still has short hair and does not talk(altho she is tall and looks liek a little girl, not a baby anymore)
Everyday I try get D to say some easy words, but she gets bored so quickly and just says whatever she wants
I know people say she'll talk when she wants, but I'm starting to get frustrated now
She can't even say Mama to me - if I ask her what my name is, she kinda says Dada and if I say Mama, then she'll repeat it
That's what every mother can;t wait for - to hear her child call her Mama (I actually got a bit teary-eyed the other night cos I just want her to call me Mama)

Oh and i forgot to mention Kaelyn likes the Smurfs oatees dry... she does however seem to feed the Marshmallows to DH... not sure if she doesn't like them or he has trained her...

Girly - so glad to hear you might not have to move after all...

Cols - as long as you enjoy it... its always tough to start something new... good luck!! And any success with the TTC??

Well Kaelyn's 19 month check up is on Friday, i could only get a morning appointment so DH and i decided to make a day of is so he organised to have friday off and work the weekend shift and i took leave and we are going to go to Santarama afterwards, havent been there since we were kids.

So its a colleagues baby shower on tuesday next week and i was telling one of my other colleagues that i was planning on making a nappy cake for him (yes we have showers for the daddy's too) and i said it would have to be small as nappies are expensive... so she asked if she could buy a bag of nappies and join in... so we were discussing it in the kitchen and another colleague walked in... and asked if she too could join in... and we were just leaving the kitchen when another colleague walked in...

now its a nappy cake with three layers - a pack each of size 1, 2 & 3 nappies, a receiving blanket around each layer and a pink teddy on top...

Geez now the pressure is on to make sure i dont mess up... seeing as i have never done it before!

Hi ladies. Long time!

Cols so glad we're not the only ones. I pour out dry cereal for K, my mom bought her the milkshake flavoured cheerios with marshmellows in them. K picks up the marshmellows and ignores the rest.
Also rice crispes etc, she plays with the food, throws it all over the floor but doesnt eat it. Only thing she'll really eat well is yogurt.
I know it will go better at the daymom, just wish she would eat better with us.

So glad your job is doing so well! Its always hectic in the beginning though. What are the hours? Is it better for you than the last one?

Still waiting on news for that shortlisting. Should hear by the end of this week.
Otherwise got a call from a company in Milnerton, just waiting to hear if they want to see me for an interview or not. It would be temp only, with possibility to go permanent.
Temp kind of suits me for the short term cos then at least I'll be bringing in some cash while I continue looking and hopefully secure something permanent soon.
Meantime some family members have committed to helping us with money to pay towards a place to stay, and it looks like we may not have to move out of our home afterall. It'll be a huge relief cos the stress of moving and putting our place on the market will be a lot to handle.

Taking K for a check up at the surgeon on Thursday morning. Its probably just to listen to her pulses and check her cut for infections, which thankfully seem clear for now. We'll see the cardiologist in 2 weeks time, also just for a clinical check up. Wont be doing an echo for a few months so at the moment we just go on as per normal.
I plan on starting to let her visit the daymom for a few hours every other day starting next week so that she can ease back into it again.
I think we are both looking forward to it.

Well dont disappear now, it's far too quiet now!

PS Flowergirl & I had a playdate with our girlies yesterday. They thoroughly enjoyed it, especially playing in Em's room and playing hide and seek behind the curtains.
Em is so much more grown up than K though. She has pigtails and she's taller and speaking so clearly. Kaylee does a lot of alien speak and she's much more petite and still has a baby face, and short hair. Next to Em she really looks like a baba!
But still really nice to catch up with the fellow mums and see how well they are doing!

Girly, Evan is impossible to feed at times too Breakfast cereal is impossible. He LOVES dry weetbix bites - the honey or berry flavour. Also dry provitas (3 provitas = 1 slice of bread according to the packet). He is mad about yoghurt and even that has been a struggle. Last night he wasnt keen on dinner so he ended up eating half a hotcross bun and a piece of bread with peanut butter. He loved mash potatoe mince and cinamon pumkin the night before. Who knows what gets into our monkeys?

Try let her graze and let her eat what she wants. I know you want her to have her best most nutritious healthy meals but right now it's about getting her to eat anything.

How are you otherwise? Any news on your interviews?
