Kerry so glad you got to go to the beach and the aquarium! K also loves the beach and as soon as there is cash we'll buy annual memberships for the aquarium. Maybe I'll put it on her bday wishlist as its a cool winter thing to do.

But I hear you on missing then as soon as you drive away. But listen to your needs, and take advantage of the peace and quiet.

Robyn hope your week is less hectic than last with some time for R&R.

Where did u buy your shape sorters?
K has a square one, but means its a mission to flip it around to get to the correct side with the right shape on and she gets frustrated.
I also want to get her some more fine motor development based toys. Any ideas?

I am super nauseous again since yesterday, after almost a week's break. I am happy that its a good sign, but so over the feeling!
I am also struggling hectic with insomnia at the moment. 2 nights in a row that I've hardly slept. Last night I was still wide awake when K woke up at 3:30am. Tried to get her back to sleep for an hour and fell asleep around 5am myself.

We had our scan this past Friday. Happy to report all is well. Baby was showing exact size to our due date, and a nice strong heart beat. So far all good.
Will see him again in a month where they'll do all the downs screening and blood tests. Then 16 weeks we'll hopefully find out the gender.
The only difference is that at 23/24 weeks we'll go for a detailed scan at a fetal specialist (Linny Miller) to check baby's heart.

Kerry - glad you got to take her to the beach!! Emily also LOVES the aquarium, we have a membership which expires at the end of this month, so I will most likely have to renew it - DH takes her at least once a month, so its worth having the membership for us.

DH was working yesterday, so I decided to pick -up my brother and his 3 year old daughter and all go to my mom's for lunch. Just as we were about to leave, my mom suggested that I leave Em there and come and get her again on Tuesday night!!!! I was in 2 minds because I have never been away from her for more than 1 night at a time, but I got my final exam on Friday for the 1st section of my course and it needs to be submitted on 2 April, so I figured I could use some quiet time to work on that. So..................left Em at about 5.30pm yesterday and will only be seeing her about 6:30 tomorrow night (that's if DH and I don't cave and just fetch her tonight!!) We miss her soooooooooooo much!!! We took advantage of the situation last night and went to see a movie - Contraband - it was AWESOME!!

Anyway, I called this morning and EM does not seem to be missing us at ALL - she was out feeding the birds at 7AM already!

Sorry Joybaby & Flowergirl... it turned out so hectic down there. We did go to the beach on thursday for about an hour... and K was in absolute heaven!

and on friday morning we went to the Aquarium "on our way out to Ceres" Lol

So another early morning for me, so I really look like this

@JB - I permanently have ginger beer at my desk!
If you find it's getting expensive buying it all the time, I'll give you a lovely cheap, easy recipe for it!
As for tabs - I really hate taking any tablets, so I'll rather work my way thru the nausea
D spends the whole day with MIL and then when I pick her up in the evenings, sometimes my parents
pop in to see her for abit (like last night) which I love, but then I still need to feed the dogs, get D to bed,
make something to eat....and sleep!

@Kerry - I think we must just chill abit - we know our LO's are fine and understand everything
D has always been a very strong silent personality so I kinda knew she would take longer to talk
Last night, I pointed at my eyes, and D said Eye, she also correctly said Ear, Nose (well, in her own unique way of saying it! )
She can show you anything you ask her in a book (and if you ask her to count them, she will point to each one for you) she just struggles to say what it is
We also have a shape sorter - a barrel with 3 different shapes on each end
If she takes one shape and you put the correct hole nearest her, she gets it in
She also has a puzzle with different animals and she'll try each hole until she gets the right one and she'll turn it til it fits in

Re Fri - sorry but I'm going to jump into bed as soon as I pick up D and get home - DH can play and feed and bathe and put her to bed!!!

Friday night we have a dinner planned with friends
We could go to the beach 'after work' on Thursday if Flowergirl is available?
But its best to look at the wind schedule as it can make it a bit miserable.
Are you busy all of Saturday? We can always do something late on Saturday afternoon into early evening? Hubby is busy but I'm free?

Robyn bleh the nausea is just the worst! Try keep ginger beer / ginger biscuits in your bag thats what I've been doing. Do you have any vomifene tablets? I've had to take twice in the last week on days where I literally couldn't keep anything down, and I lost a kilo last week due to no appetite. But thankfully since yesterday it seems to have subsided somewhat, not nearly as bad as it was last week, just still not really lus to eat at the moment.
Good luck with all you have to do in the next few days I had that last week hubby was away 2 days, its not lekker.
Do you have family who can come stay while you are away?

Kerry do not listen to your paed and do not stress! Just cos she's not saying words doesnt mean she cant. Every child learns differently. Just watch, one day she'll start stringing out sentences like you cant believe. As you say, she definitely understands what you're saying which to me means she can also say the words herself. Long as she is learning new words every now and again (Kaylee's new word is 'House') in the coming months they will put it together and process it and then start speaking when they are ready.
Arg I hate when Paeds stress us out so unnecessarily.

And regarding the shape sorters - K is 100% the same hey. She wants them all to fit into any hole. Doesnt realise that it doesnt work that way. And cos ours is a square one with 4 different sides she doesnt want to have to move the box around looking for the right shape.
If I show her which hole to put a shape into then she'll get the easier ones right.
But I find if I take away all but 3 simple shapes and let them play like that its more rewarding for them cos they get it right.
K also gets very frustrated, but I think its that they cant express their feelings any other way so its also quite normal I think.

Kerry - I just checked the weather report and seems we are expecting heavy winds a bit of showers on Friday Thursday is 25 degrees with a moderate wind though, so probably the better day for you to take Kerry to the beach. Joybaby is home, so maybe she can join you??? Im still keen to meet up on Friday eve though if you ladies are interested?

robyn - Kaelyn also fully understands anything you ask her... i have asked her many times to take x or y to her room... or put it in her bed... can even get her to put baba in her pram and take her for a walk, outside!

So sorry about the morning sickness hopefully it will pass soon!
