Cols - i was wondering if its maybe the nido i was giving her over christmass, as it seemed to start when i weaned her onto the NIDO, but she started refusing the nido last week and DH and i decided to go back onto formula last night. But failing that shes a super wee champ... 1 wee soaks a nappy.
Last night she slept till two and then woke up moaning so i went to see if she had wet the crib again, she dived into my arms... so i picked up the dummy and offered it to her... she dropped it three times... so i gace her some neurofen and waited for it to kick in. Then she took her dummy with Zest! Poor little thing... she also looks like a hamster, all swollen

K screams when she doesn't get her way... or throws a tantrum, but no hitting... she does however hit things away with great prowess... that is if you offer it to her again after she has said no to you. I thought i had it bad! I am sure it will stop soon... when they learn something new!

So so cute over the holidays K has learned how to express herself... if she wants something she grabs your finger and takes you to it and points... so now we have a bowl of hers, a juice cup and milk bottle on the kitchen counter and she tells us when she wants one. She also pints to her books in her room when she wants one read to her, and takes you to our room and sits on the bed pointing to the TV if shes feeling drowsy. Its so sweet!!

Luckily K eats practically anything! we have moved on from the spoon to a whole new world of mess.... dunking.... everything has to have a sauce now... if you don't she finds a liquid... like for instance my juice glass. so now we cut things up for dunking ability. The only thing she doesn't try dunk is peas... those she cheriches... she eats them one at a time...lol. Oh and she LOOOVES avo... don't expect to get any for yourself if you eat it in front of her... it just wont happen!

babyK - I hope you find something amazing... in our area there seems to be a creche on every second corner... probably why its cheaper here huh? Anyway good luck good luck good luck!!! Congrats on the walking, he just obviously doesn't want to yet... K also crawled a lot after her first steps, its just faster to use the tried and tested method... but wait one day soon he will stop crawling all together

Cols -Emily loves fruit and will eat any fruit EXCEPT banana's - she gets really angry when we try to feed her bananas I think it must be the slippery texture. Grapes and raisins are her favourite though.

BabyK,I am sure you will find the right school soon! You will see, John will thrive in his school. Especially if he is with kids around his age. It is very hard leaving your baby in someone elses care but it does get easier!

I hope everything goes ok with her babies. She must be besides herself right now! They will be fighters. My sisters boss had her babies very early to because PE. Her girls are 2 now and you would never say they were prem! It was very difficult for her in the beginning because she was in ICU and they were in NICU. Please keep us posted?

Watch, he will be running circles around you before you know it! Evan discovered the stairs to the attic this morning. They are basically like step ladder stairs that you pull down to get up to the attic. Barry went up there for something. I heard him calling me, I walked out and there was Evan climbing up them! My heart! He still prefers walking down normals steps than climbing down them but at least he has figured it out

PS: John backtracked on the walking but tonight he managed 5 steps! I know he is so much later than all the other babes but I am still very proud of my little bean. He is such a funny little guy, there is no making him do something, he only does it when he is good and ready.

Hi Kerry, welcome back! Kaelyn's school is exactly what I was looking for but I can't find one like that in my area. The only small one normally has about 18 children of varying ages and she wasn't badly priced (for the North I guess), R1950, but she doesn't include lunch, only 1 snack and she closes at 5pm sharp and we can't guarantee we can get there at or before 5. Also, she badmouthed all the other schools in the area and although its good to know what others think, its not really nice is it?
Its ok, I've come to terms with the fact that he will be going to a big school, at least the little ones are in their own classroom and have their own playground. We're looking at one again tomorrow morning and then one more on Thursday and then I need to make my decision.

I tell you, its worse than organising a wedding! The stress, hehe.

John is practically in size 5 nappies, the next ones we buy will be size 5. But that's mostly cos the 4s are getting a bit snug, he hasn't wee'd out of a nappy in a while.

Joybaby, good luck for tomorrow! Your little Kaylee is such a fighter and with all our prayers I know everything will be fine.

My friend is having her twins tomorrow morning, she is only 33 weeks but she has been in hospital for a week as she has pre-eclampsia and they are worried about the little boy (she is having a pigeon pair) as he hasn't gained any weight for 10 days. I really feel for her and am praying hard that everything is fine.

I better go dish up dinner before Si expires from hunger, lol. We're doing meat-free Monday, I bought those vegetarian pies from Frys - chicken and mushroom no chicken and pepper steak no steak - haha. They're actually really good, I'm impressed with the whole Fry's range. The sausage rolls taste better than 'real' sausage rolls and the burgers are pretty good too.

Shame Robyn, I hope your DH's ankle heals soon! I hear you on men being babies when they are ill / sore or just generally PMS Dakota is really beautiful! I love her eyes

Flowergirl, I hear you. At the moment I dread weekends because they are so exhausting and I havent gotten over December yet Well done on Emily going to sleep on her own It sounds hectic all this applying for schools stuff. I guess we are lucky. We literally have 6 schools in walking distance from my house.

Welcome back Kerry Evan's also in stage 5 and last week almost every night we had the same drama he was soaked to his armpits! Thinking of trying stage 6 next... Still have 2 packets of stage 5 to go. Shame poor K, those teeth are so sore Evan cut teeth 8 & 9 now, this weekend, the 4th bottom tooth and the 1 top premoller... His other top premoller is cutting - 1 point through and the bottom 2 - you can see the white parts through the gum. I am ready to run away It is so sore... You must enjoy Phantom! My uncle and aunt are coming up from DBN to see it.

Joybaby! So good to see you!! Sorry your contract ended hun Have you got anything else lined up yet? Shame man, what about goats milk or soy? When is she due for her next op? What are they going to do? How has she been otherwise?

BabyK & Girly, I hear you both on the pinching faces. I swear, Evan is getting so naughty! He has grabbed the 1 girl in his classes face like that twice already. She loves him and is so cuddly and loving to him and he hurts her! They have been together since he joined school. She is 2 weeks younger than him but such a gorgoeus little creature! He hits us now when he isnt getting his way or when he is frustrated! I swear, shouting, talking to him etc no longer works. I will try do time outs but I cant see that being very effective with our terror

Evan decided he was feeding himself last night and would not let me feed him at all! He took his little fork and stabbed his food to get it on and then ate it He actually did really well I got a spoon to try help him feed himself and he took it away from me and tried using it like a knife. So was trying to use his "knife" and fork It was chicken stew so the chicken was diced up with peas and carrots. He does not like diced carrots. He kept spitting it out. He eats grated cooked carrots and carrot puree but clearly doesnt like the pieces. He loves peas. For desert he ate half a pancake - with his fork! I had to cut it up for him and he fed himself! How do they get there so fast? What fruit do your LOs eat. He eats nectarine, as long as it's on the pip and he can hold it himself and strawberries. Mango if it's in his yoghurt or dried... He likes raisins he doesnt like other dried fruits. Other than that he spits everything out, especially apple and banana. Yet he will eat them in puree but not plain. He loves fish, as in I bought him a piece of hake at the fish and chips shop (adult portion) and he devoured the whole thing! and some chips. I flaked it to check for bones and I removed the batter. He used to like broccolli but I havent made it in ages so I will make some tonight and see how he does. I'm just worried about the amount of variety he's getting. I know at school he eats much better than at home. We're off on our holiday on Saturday! I CANNOT WAIT! It's Evan's first flight, any tips? He has a bit of a cold so he is on Coryx and avamis nose spray at the moment. I hope it clears up before the weekend!

So we set to meet up on the 5th @ Delta Park? we can let our monsters run riot a bit

Well today is my first day at home again after 8 months - my contract expired on Friday They threw a lovely farewell party, I felt so blessed and loved and got some lovely emails too.

Kerry - I know the feeling with the bed soaks! Esp when its such a hassle to get them back to sleep!

BK - Ditto with the face grabbing. I think they are obsessed with faces at this age and it will definitely pass. K also likes to hit and she finds it funny when we say no. But she sometimes really hurts me

FG glad LG is doing better now. What a holiday!

Cols so sorry about your doggy Our one adopted cat has Feline Aids. Also gets sick easily and gets infections from cat fights etc. She's been okay the last few years, but its so stressful and not to mention expensive.

Robyn lovely pics. She looks so tall next to my K!

I am taking K to paed now for general check up and a listen to her heart.
She seems to have an allergy to lactose (a fairly recent development) and with her tiny body need to decide what to put her on. It makes too much phlegm and she cant land up with pneumonia so soon before her next surgery.
I'm looking forward to seeing her height and weight. Last time was 8.4kg and 75cm tall - that was a month ago.
I want paed to listen to her heart to help advise whether I should book the next ECG with cardiologist sooner or leave it till end of March.
