Newborn and baby advice

Yeah for Luke growing so well!!! Bundle , how was Luke last night? Liebe got a fever but nothing serious afterwards.

Des , I also feel like staying in bed but have to get my spare bedroom ready for the family and have to hang Liebe's curtains in her bedroom.Think i'll stay in bed until lunch time.O'h and then it's Friday as well and we go to my SIL every Friday as a tradition and have hamburgers so not much time for rest.

Well Liebe was awake most of the night and still is.Where she gets her energy from I don't know but I have no idea what to do.Hopefully she will switch night and day back.She slept the entire day yesterday.I wish I knew how to keep her awake during the day , but on a day like today I'm so tired I just want to sleep.Ai Ai

@Bundle - wow, Luke really is a big boy - well done on his progress!! I take Connor for his vaccinations on Monday,he will be 8 weeks old. We are going to the baby clinic at Olivedale Hospital where I gave birth, I have to pay for one of the additional private injections they do, but I'm getting the Government ones for free and the clinic has them in stock, thank goodness!! Its still pricey though, I have to pay R650.00!

Girls, the weather is soooooo misty in JHB, I feel like staying in bed the whole day - think I will be feeding Connor right here in bed today, he he

Today we went to the peadiatrition for Luke's checkup and he is very happy with his progress. Says he is a nice big boy. He now weighs 5.3kg and is 58cm tall.

I must start introducing the bottle to him so he gets used to it as the pead was saying they may not take to the bottle if we leave it too late. So I will espress for 1 feed a day and see how that goes. I have to get him used to it as we are going to the world cup match in June so he will need to be bottle fed for those hours we are away.

I also took him for his innoculations today, shame he had 3 injections in his thighs he cried out when they injected him but I gave him his dummy and he was quiet again, so it was pretty easy... such a strong boy

I went to the state clinic as I did a lot of phoning around and at the state clinic I didn't have to pay a cent for the innoculations & they had all the vaccines in stock, whereas the other places I would have to pay for the prevanar and rotarex vaccine(which they currently didn't have stock of) and was going to cost me around R1000. So saved money and the state clinic was not bad at all the sisters were lovely and I was the 2nd person with baby to be seen to so I only waited about 15-20minutes. Also got my Microval pills free.

Aaah, Nicky, I had a great time too - and I miss my big preggy belly too, I loved being pregnant!! It was cool though pushing our own little prams around, he he, we're mommies now - and it was sort of 'cool'!!

ScrigglingAl - glad the Chiro sessions are paying off now, good luck for yours tomorrow!

Ladies - not long now, Connor goes for his vaccs on Monday - my little boy is 8 weeks old, wow!!

Pinky - Connor also falls asleep in the car - good going lady!!

Scribbling , glad you could get some sleep even if it was just for a few hours.They will let you know when they don't want anymore from the bottle.Liebe always leave a little bit and hardly ever finishes the amount I give her to drink , and it is less than what is is suppose to get as per the feeding table on the formula bottle.

Pinky , Liebe is also awake some days for long periods on end , usually when this happens it is from one feed to another. I wouldn't worry too much if she is awake. Babies do what they like , i'm sure if she is really tired she would sleep.I know the book says keep them awake for max 60-80mins at a time but that is impossible , they decide how , when and where.At least she is sleeping at night and that's a good thing.

I went with Des to the Baby expo and had such a cool time.Really enjoyed it.Thanks Des.There was lots of interesting things and it was just nice to walk around and look at everything and get free samples.Seeing all those mommies with there tummies made me miss mine.

At least you can do that, Pinky - I still can't drive... So much for all my boasting about how good madam's being. She's screaming again instead of sleeping, sigh.

Hi ladies... again

I just went round and round and round in the car around the block with Karla in her carry cot to get her to sleep!!!! AT LAST... she is sleeping! I am sooooooooooooooo tired... and hungry, I think she has got a bit of cramps so I gave her some gripe water... hope it helps!!
