Newborn and baby advice

Luke didn't seem to have any reaction to the vaccinations yesterday, I tested his temp before bedtime and it was normal. I did give him the panado drops throughout the day just incase and to help with any pain he may have had. He slept really well as well.

Beansmom - I took him to Bothasig Clinic, I spoke to Reluctant Mom as she took her baby there as well and she was very impressed with it so I decided that R1000 is a lot of money that I would save so I phoned the clinic up asked them if they had all the vaccines and if they were busy.

You go there and put your card in the box, then the sister will call you to have baby weighed and measured - I didn't need to do this as I had that done at the pead the same morning. I then went to another waiting room and was the 2nd person with baby so I only waited about 15-20min in total. They call you into a room where they ask some questions and fill out your card etc and then they give baby the injections, they also had a heater to keep the room warm. Luke only cried when they injected the needle into his thighs but I gave him his dummy straight away and he stopped crying.

The sisters were lovely and warm and felt very comfortable with them. I even got my microval pills for free

I would recommend going there as the vaccines are free and if it is quiet it is not bad at all!

Would love to have gone to the breastfeeding clinic for it but I just can't imagine paying R1000 if I don't need to. Plus they didn't have the rotarex and the prevanar in stock.

Another bit of advice, Asked my pead about the bottle feeding and he recommends we start introducing it straight away as if we leave it too long he may not take to the bottle at all - that would be a disaster. So I am going to go espress my milk now and try it out with the next feed, hope it goes well.

took my son to the state clinic aswell, while on m/leave.It,s 5min away from home.
my ped charges R500 per visit and additional fees for the injections.
nicky -want to try the sleeping tonic but so to scared.Feedback regarding the tonic will be appriciated.

Mommy21 , I love shopping it Eastgate.Alway go there. It's easy for people to comment , just ignore them.It is your choice how when and where you take you child.If you feel it is safe it is safe.

Beansmom , I'm thinking about ordering the sleep tonic , must this be given throughout the day or only at night time as at night is when I have the problems?She sleeps a lot during the day.

MY son is now 13wks and we still have sleeping issues but let's concentrate on the good....

I cannot wait for the baby expo to come to cape town.
I used the colic calmer and message oil for mu son, could see it work.
There is something for teething as well,not at that stage yet but there is good feedback on the website.

in bed now,its so cold here in cape town>going to miss the afternoon naps when i am back at work

Which clinic did you take Luke too?! I've had mixed feedback on the one in Bothasig...

Wow Bundle Luke is such a big boy, happy he is doing so well!

Ok so Wednesday we went to Eastgate and we went by Pumpkin patch and I was carrying my LG in my arms covered by a blankie, when we got inside the shop I uncovered her as it was hot, and the sales ladies started commenting about how I was putting my LG @ risk by taking her out when she is so small\tiny! One lady even asked if she was premature...I am a small person myself dont know y they were expecting me to have a big baby! Y is that small\tiny babies are considered unhealthy? Anyway I was irritated I left without buying anything!
