Newborn and baby advice

Hi ladies!

I just couldn't face the cold & wet weather on Friday, so we only went to the clinic today. My LG is now 66cm and weighs 7.5kg's!!! She's growing so quickly... Had a little cry when she got the injections, but was all smiles again this afternoon. She's sleeping now, so hopefully she won't be too miserable tonight.

DH is in Namibia for work, so we are alone until tomorrow

@Des - enjoy the visit with your mom.

@Bundle - great news about the hearing test! I also think it would be better to not mix the warm and cold milk together, but to rather wait until it's cold before mixing.

About the nappies - I can't use the Huggies because it leaks so much! Just shows how some things work for some people and others have problems with it!

I finally got round to buying the Bambino Mio cloth nappies today. So will start using them as soon as they're washed and dry. So excited about it...

Beansmom - ok this is what I did. I espressed after every feed for 1 day and I ended up with 160mls. I espressed into the bottle and then stored it in the fridge, I have those bottle stopper thingies that close the top of the bottle to keep it airtight. Now what I only thought of afterwards is perhaps I should not have been espressing warm milk into the cold milk? Luke didn't have a problem so it seems like it was ok but if I had to do it again I'd espress eachtime into a different bottle and then mix it all together when they are all cold, think this would be the better route to go.

Now I can espress a full bottle at 1 feed so I won't have to worry about that.

So yeah I store it in the fridge in the bottle with the sealed cap. And I will use that bottle tonight. You can store it up to 48 hours in the fridge (from the first time you espressed milk).

I was given Avent milk breastmilk containers, pack of 10 which you can reuse up to 4 times each. Which I am going to use to store the milk in the freezer when I get around to stocking it up. Think you can freeze the milk for up to 4 months, so I will do this for the world cup.

I see on FB you said you looking for a chiropracter, Is this for Tayla? I know there is a lady in Edgemead that does this, I think her name is Charmaine dell. Why are you looking for one?

Luke passed his hearing test - Yay!

Finally got him down to sleep about an hour ago so have had time to do somethings. Not sure why he has been so fidgety today.

Thought it was going to be such a nice hot sunny day today in CT, so did Luke's washing and now I see its all overcast and misty, had to take the washing off the line and its all still wet

Nicky - thanx for the note on Huggies, think I will go back to huggies then as the huggies newborn worked so well and now the pampers are giving me the problems.

Desiree - Connor is weighing a nice amount now too, same as Luke. They grow so quickly hey!

I managed to find myself a pair of Jeans on Friday, took Luke shopping with me. Atleast I don't feel like I look pregnant anymore, my tummy has come down finally, but there is still a "bump" there that needs working on.

@ Bundle - re the Huggies / Pampers issue... I started on Huggies and they were brilliant... then we finished those and moved across to the Pampers cheapies and she leaked out of every single one! (poops up the back, and wet babygros...) Then got given Pampers Premium as a gift and they work like a charm - but def can't afford Pampers Premium for her all the time! So I am definately going back to Huggies... Watch out for Pick n Pay Plattekloof specials - we stocked up over the 9 months on Huggies 2/3/4 @ R99 a pack... they have the specials very often!

Re the expressing - how do you keep the breast milk when you are expressing over a few feeds? I am going to start tomorrow preparing a bottle - then hopefully start giving her one by the end of this week to replace a feed... i know she is only 3 and a 1/2 weeks - but so worried i leave it too late and by 21 June I have to skip the soccer game cos she won't take the bottle!

I'm going insane with little Tayla's sleep patterns at the moment... after her 2am feed she battles to go back to sleep - we were awake until 4am with her this morning... not crying, but just moaning and niggly... not interested in going to sleep when poor mom and dad are battling to keep there eyes open... then during the day she falls asleep practically straight after a feed... trying to keep her awake a bit more during the day to see if that helps!!

Wow I've had really busy weekend and it still continue until this evening.Got a friend and her parents coming over tonight to see Liebe and I'm gonna cook...just Spaggetti and salad as I don't have the energy for anything else.

Liebe is doing a lot better , still a little snotty but way better thatn before. I don't want to jinx myself but she has been drinking every 4.5h from Friday evening.I'm so proud of her.

Des , I used the behoedmiddle and it really works , seems to calm them down , when Liebe is in her evening screaming mood I give it to her and then 15min later she is so calm and relaxed.I'm sure it is working.I'm gonna continue to use it.

Bundle , I'm using huggies no 2 and I am really happy.Have not had any problems.

Pinky ,glad you enjoyed all your outings,Really nice to get out of the house sometimes.

Jacadebra , Liebe is also awake in the evenings , from 17:00 and she want's all my attention.She is extremely niggly from 5 until it's time for her bath round about 8pm.

Well I hoe you are all having a great time , a month from today I have to drop Liebe of at the creche so i'm very teary today and do not want to think about it but I can't.

Hi girls!!

So, today I took Connor for his 8 week immunizations, he cried so heartsore .. Then I cried, then the lady who saw me crying cried too, ha ha, we had everyone in tears - I felt so sorry for my little boy, I'm so glad its done for now!!

Connor now weighs 5.34kgs and measures 57cms, he's doing so well, I'm very proud of him!!

Pinky - that's just awful about the sucky bathrooms at Sandton city, blegh!! I agree though, Clearwater Mall has great mom and baby facilities, we go there all the time!

Bundle - Luke is doing well, good job with the Bottle feeding : )

Jacadebra - its a pity we didn't bump into eachother at the expo - it was great though hey?

Nicky - have you tried the Behoedmidel yet?
