Newborn and baby advice

I forgot to add some things yesterday:

@zulu - sooooo nice to hear from u lady - and glad things are going well, except for your laptop!

@Nicky - how is Liebe doing with her nose and throat now? And it sounds like u had a fab time at the braai, and Liebe was so good - fantastic!!

@Jacadebra - eeek, I read your post about Lea crying in the car seat while u were stuck on William Nicol, oi - I can imagine how awful that was - Something similar hapenned to me and Connor on republic drive, I cried too, oi!!

Girls - Connor had his feed and bath last night, and was sleeping by 8:00pm - he then slept until 2:30pm - HOLY COW, I actually woke up to go and check on him, that was the longest night sleep he has had yet! His nappy rash is slightly better this morning, its still there, but less red! I still feel so bad about it though!

I'm planning on doing nothing today and staying in my pj's all day - I'm gonna shower and then get straight back into clean pj's, he he - did anyone else hear the thunder storm last night? When I was feeding Connor at 3:00am, it was thunder and lighting and rain, soooooo gorgeous! Love listening to the rain at night!!

Lol@Bundle if Joy - bwahahahah, I laughed so hard at your projectile poo story, he he, that hasn't hapenned to me yet, but Connor pees on me all the time, I kind of expect it now!

Girls - Connor has nappy rash!! I'm so distraught, I think I've been doing everything right and still, this morning the red rash was there, in his little bum - I was soooooooo sad!! Anyway, I changed from Huggies to Pampers a month ago, but I've now changed back to the Huggies, size 2, and I'm using only cotton wool and water to clean his bum and I'm using sudocrean!! Hope it clears up soon, It makes me so sad to see it!!!

We had a pretty busy weekend, went to a party yesterday, but left early enough to still do our bath and feed routing at home with Connor! Today we went for lunch at Clearwater Mall for Mothers day, he he, and I got spoiled with a new top and jeans from Urban, I friggin love that shop!! I've just fed my little man, and while he is settling before bathtime I thought I'd catch up here, I've missed u girls!

Janine - I'm so glad to hear that u and Kellan are doing well, your little man is doing well and so are u - well done Mommy!!

Connor has been sleeping from 8 - 1:00 for the past few nights now, hope he keeps it up - only thing is, after his 4/5:00am feed he is very very awake, ha ha, so I take him to our bed and hubby makes tea

Happy Mother's Day Ladies!!

So this morning I was given a card made by hubby from Luke, it was very sweet. Got a nice warm gown for feeding in winter, a warm blanket and my fav chockies Ferero Rochers as my mothers day gift.

Luke is def in a pattern where he has dropped his 2am feed, so great!

Has anyone experienced the projectile poos, damn I had one at 2am in the morning a while back where I was changing his nappy and it shot out across the room, I had to clean the mess off the floor, off the nursing chair, the cot, even my pj's was not fun! Now I am extra careful when changing nappies

Where do you ladies take your babies to be weighed and how much do they charge you. I've been taking Luke to the breastfeeding clinic, but they charge R100 for consulation fee everytime so it works out pricey esp if I don't have any questions I need answered! Haven't taken him again since 3 weeks cause I am waiting for his 6 week checkup which is this week coming, looking forward to finding out his weight.

Got my gynea checkup tomorrow, should be fun

Zulu! So glad to have you back! I think I'd have a heart attack if my laptop went - it is ancient though so I won't be suprised if this happens. I hope you manage to find a way to get online and chat to us more, we missed you!!

Thats so great that you had a good braai Nicky and that Liebe was so relaxed. Always makes an outing nice when they're chilled out too! Wow, 8 weeks ago you went into labour - so amazing how quickly time has gone by.. now you have this amazing little baby and pregnancy is history.

We went with both our moms to the Monte Bird Gardens this morning... was a lovely outing. Now everybody including hubby is having a nap - so I can catch up online etc.

Yesterday Lia went her longest gap between feeds 4.5 hours!!! She slept for 3.5 hours of that! It was however, in the day time lol and she was super fussy later in the evening. I think I ate something funny (again) because she looked windy and not happy. She is so adorable. Even when I want to pull my hair out because she is fussy, I just look at her and my little heart melts.

Welcome Janine!!! Really glad Kellan is doing so well can't believe that he is 12 weeks today.Must be wonderful to have him home with you.I had to change Liebe's formula so I am also giving her S@^ Gold as the doctor ordered ,i'm still only introducing it to her so every second bottle is S26 Gold , she is also on Isomil she drinks 90ml Isomil every 3h but with the S26 Gold they say she needs 150ml which is way to much but maybe once she gets used to only drinking S26 gold she will be able to finish it and maybe feed every 4h or so I hope.

We had so much fun at the braai last night and Liebe was really good , slept the whole time.We only got home 02:30 so I'm a little tired.

8 weeks ago this time I didn't think I would go into labour later that evening.Can't believe how fast the time goes by.

Hi Ladies
Ive finally decided to join you here as Ive given up on PF its too slow. Its so nice to hear from all the April 2010 ladies.
So Kellan is 12wks old tomorrow and has been home for almost 4wks,it is such a blessing to have him home after all he went through during those 8wks in hospital and now we can just be like any other mom and newborn. He is a really good baby but has his moments of fussiness, Im formula feeding him (s26 gold) as my milk dried up after 8wks of exclusively expressing while he was in Nicu but at least he did have those 8wks of my milk. He really battles with winds, he seldom burps but passes them at the bottom, his dr said it may be something to do with his operation but thats a small price to pay for him being at home. How much formula do other bottle fed babies drink? Kellan only drinks around 60mls every 3hrs, I would love to get him to drink more every 4hrs but dont want to force it incase he aspirates.

Just a quick hello , we have such a busy busy weekend , another braai tonight and looks like it's the whole family for mothersday at my SIL tomorrow.

Liebe is a little better but she still get cranky at night , at least she is sleeping now.She's starting to put her hands in her mouth and yesterday I saw that her mouth had a little cut it must be from her nails and I think that caused her to drink little bits at a time resulting in her only sleeping 45min at a time during the day.I felt so helpless these past few days with her just crying and crying.

Pinky ,congrats on your LG weight gain.Also a good feeling when it goes up.I always stress when I go to the clinic , terrified that they will tell me Liebe didn't pick up weight.

Zulu , glad you check in and glad that all is good with you and LG.

Jac , I absolutely love cooking and making nice things to eat. I always say in my previous life I was a chef.If I could I would cook for a living.

Beansmom , glad you homeopathic remedy is working.

Liebe is really snotty and her chest is very scratch so I've gotten her Karvol , just hope it works.They say you have to inhale it but mu SIL said I must just drip a few drops on her blanket so I'l see how it goes.
