I missed you sooo much, we are very well.
Our laptop crashed and we need to buy a new one at work, they took their phone now with the scrap that i have i couldn't log in.

i borrowed the laptop from my neighbour coz i was about to go mad.

Not sure when i'll b able to buy another one, wouldn't mind a good second hand, budget is too tight.

I tried to catch up with the posts, i'm shivering with xcitement, i don't know what to say.

OK, let me update u

We went for the 6 wks Paed's check up, all is well Doc was so impressed.

She now weighs 4.2 ks @ birth she was 3.2kg
height 56cm at birth 46 cm ( a short lady)
head circumference 38cm @ birth 33cm.

Paed said she must go for her shots at 8wks so on Thursday we'll b there.

LG has bn soo good, just eating money out of my pocket the 900g takes nearly two weeks.

Where can i get a good second hand laptop, or is it worth buying it?

I'm so angry that i've missed so much.

Well - hubby and i have researched colic and baby cramps... my paed says babies only get colic from 6 weeks on... so we'll just call them baby cramps! We've found a homeopathic solution... we've tried it for the first time tonight and so far so good - sleepy baby with no winds! Its called Colic Calmer and it is used in conjunction with Sleep Tonic... We bought it from a company in Cape Town - if you buy before midday you'll get it the very next day!

Nicky - it is possible babies can miss their fathers, sure! They do say though that generally a baby's "fussy" time is in the early evening before their longest stretch of sleep so it could be that too. Lia is generally cranky this time, except on odd occasions and she isn't a very cranky baby at all. Glad you got to catch up on TV - I'm sure your hubby loves your BBC Food addiction - means you can cook him all sorts of yummy stuff

LOL@ScribblingAl - every time I see a spasmopep add I see spasmopoep, it just seems so, right lol. Sounds like you could write a whole consumer report on wind-busting remedies, thanks for the info. I actually have some of that probiflora stuff in my cupboard from when my son was on antibiotics so I may give that a shot. Tastes yummy - I'll just let Lia suck some of it off a clean finger, I'm sure she'll love it.

Des, I'm not big into TV but I use to watch the last season of So You Think You can dance (or the previous one, who knows which) and it is awesome to watch. I love watching that kind of thing - seriously impressive!!

Yay for Karla! That's awesome to hear Pinky. Always nice to know baby is growing so well. Especially when they give you nice long stretches of sleep too. Excellent!

I was going to the library this morning (get my son some more books... he loves them so we read to him every night and before his naps). We got stuck in traffic on William Nicol and Lia started screaming the car down. I could reach my hand into the carseat and give her a dummy (god knows why because she never takes it but I still try lol) but she was screaming blue murder. She cried so hard that her little voice was cracking (I've never heard her do that before) - and I was in a state by the time I could finally get the car stopped at the quickshop. I picked her up and she was cooking hot. It was so cold in the house that I wrapped her in a blanket in the carseat.. but the seat is black & grey and the son shining against it was making her waaay too hot. The moment I picked her up she was quiet. Poor baby. I took the blanket out the seat and she slept happily the rest of the way. Ugh, how horrible for her though.

Well, we went to weigh today and Karla picked up 300grams this week!! Wow, I am so glad, because that means she is drinking well and my milk is fine!!

She is sleeping now... thank goodness... so I am also going to take a little rest now!!

I have a few minutes before Connor wakes up - I've been watching So You Think You Can Dance, he he, its lovely catching up on some tv and just relaxing while baba naps ... When he awakes it will all change, ha ha

For the ladies with babies with bad winds, I feel for you - I think I've been pretty lucky, Connor hasn't really struggled with bad winds or cramping, although I do use Telament colic drops in ALL his feeds and I dip his dummy in Gripe water throughout the day - not sure if this is what's helping, but, I do it all anyway!! Good luck with all your remedies, etc - I've also heard that Buscopan for babies really works, so I have that in stock as well, juuust in case!


Sooooo..its our first Mothers Day coming up - Hein is taking me and Connor of course, to breakfast - hope my littlest man let's mommy have a nice relaxing day *Im holding thumbs* - Do you ladies have anything planned? Nicky - sorry your hubby is working!

Yes, I think babies can miss their dads. Although I also think a change of arms can stop a screaming baby in her tracks Emily seems to do very well with a deep voice. She quietens down with my dad, brothers and husband.

As for those winds, just know that you're not alone!!! My paediatrician recommended Probiflora. It comes in sachets and you have to mix it into a bottle - which helps if you are topping up your low-flow breastmilk with formula (see, there were positives to having no milk )Otherwise I also use something called Spasmopep - keep wanting to call it Spasmopoep - Junior. I have also tried gripe water. If you put this into a spray bottle and spray it into her mouth when she is screaming (especially mid-scream) it stops it temporarily so mom can catch her breath. I also used that behoudmiddle stuff when I was at my mom's but it contains alcohol so I wasn't keen to carry on. It did seem to help though. The other thing that sometimes works (yes, I'm sure I landed up with a colicky baby) is to get one of those hot pads and put it against her tummy. That helps if she has cramps. If anyone has a better remedy, please pass it along.
