Yay for walking Mommy21 - always nice to get out in the fresh air - when the weather plays along :)
GOOD LUCK with the move - moving house is a nightmare.. I'm sure it will be great once you are settled in though.

Oooh Nicky - sounds like she is growing beautifully - I've also been trying to keep Lia upright for a bit after feeds... especially seeing I don't always get much out burping her. Small head - sounds feminine, I'm envious.. lol - I'm blessed with a large head.. lol.. my son has a huge head too - off the growth chart most the time, so I'm thinking Lia's will be like that too - will see when they measure her etc heehee.

How long do you guys spend burping your LO's?? I only spend a couple of minutes and in the middle of the night even shorter because she sometimes wakes up totally while I'm doing it.

Somebody asked about nappy sizes - you change when the thing fits too tightly or if it all of a sudden leaks when it never use to then usually a nappy size change is in order. That's what I usually do anyway.

So weird - Lia fed every two hours between 1 and 7 - when she was feeding closer to every 3 hours most the time yesterday. Oh well..

I must say, it is weird for me that she is asleep - the last week or two she has been niggly after her bath and I've spent about 3 hours each evening rocking, putting down... cry... repeat... feed inbetween.. repeat... quite tiresome. Last night she only properly konked out at 12.. ugh.. I was ready for bed at 9. The thing is, she doesn't look "wide awake".. she yawns and falls asleep in my arms but cries 10 minutes after putting her down. Tonight she is out now.. so I'm hoping I don't have to do passage walking to get her to sleep at odd hours lol.

Hope you all get a great night's sleep (as great as can be expected with such wee babies anyway, lol).

Hi Ladies!!!

My LG and I went for our 1st walk today :) The weather was nice and sunny. She was asleep the whole time though but must admit I enjoyed being out of the house!

Welcome Pinky :) Hope you enjoy it here.

Growth spurt @ 2 weeks? Oh my  so I better enjoy the sleeping then cos in 3 days time my LG will be 14 days old. Oh well guess its the joys of being a mommy B)

My LG currently feeds every 2.5-3hours during the day and at night she goes for 4 hours without a feed.

Des good luck with the photo shoot and I envy you having your hair done! I sooo wish I could thinking of getting the lady @ the salon to come do my hair @ home tomorrow hope she can come I would love to 'feel' pretty again!!!

I haven't had my LG weighed yet but will be going in next week! With all the bad weather we have been having I didn't want to take her out the house, glad the sun is finally out!

Where's Zulu? She's been very quiet lately

Anyway I am gonna be away for a few days again, we moving to a bigger place tomorrow( I have been using the baby as an excuse not to pack anything been so lazy, so we ended up hiring people to do, now i feel terrible!!)

Cheers and Chat soon

Oeps I forgot to say , (thanks for reminding me Jac) Liebe gained 450g and now weigh 4.2kg and she grew another 2cm making her a full 57cm tall and her head is 37cm.So from birth she picked up 1.1kg in total and grew 7cm in total and her head is now 37cm.He he the nurse says she has a small head... weird.

She said if it is the formula it will take about two weeks to notice if it is her formula that is making her throw up.I have been holding her in a upright position after feeds so and have not had any vomiting today so I think that was the reason. I will continue to keep my eye on it just to see if it is not something else. The nurse said it is fine it I give her soy milk and she said she raised all her children on it and they are strong and healthy.

I wish I wasn't so scared then I would have taken Liebe for a walk by myself , it's a nice and sunny day here.

Des, Lia is 5weeks 2 days today. I can't believe how time has flown! I've only had one smile today so they still aren't regular but cute nevertheless. Congrats on your photoshoot - so exciting! You better tell us which issue if they get published so we can all buy it :-). Enjoy the trip to the salon - I'm jealous! heehee. Oh and some people say growth spurt at 6 weeks, some say at 8 weeks so it is a bit conflicting. I say they are on a permanent damn growth spurt.. *snickers*

Hello Pinky!!! Glad to have you here!! I'd say if she feeds every 2-3 hours in the day then you can let her go as long as she wants during the night. I wish I got 4 hour stretches... so lucky :-). I think my breasts were tender for about 3 weeks with my first. This time around it was only a few days. Just make sure baby takes as much of the nipple into the mouth as possible. I think most "experts" recommend waiting until 6 weeks before introducing a bottle, but I know of many people who introduced sooner and never had problems - as long as she gets more breastfeeds than bottle feeds during the day to avoid her preferring bottles and to avoid your supply going down. I am not sure about the nipple shield use though - I've never used one, sorry.

Nicky - did Liebe gain weight? What did they say about the vomiting/ spitting up?? It is so traumatic having to take them for jabs - I think we feel it more than they do because we feel so bad. Glad

Hey Beansmom!! I agree with the others, just demand feed. Lia is all over the place with feeds. She was every 3-4hours at the hospital then she was every 2-2.5 hours now she is generally 2-3.5 hours but it really varies. It usually settles around 8 weeks (sometimes sooner) and you can see their patterns. Sounds like you are doing great with the b/feeding and that you and baby are both relaxed.. that is awesome to hear :-)

Charlene - my babies are also "hungry"/sucky babies... my son drank every 1.5-2.5 hours.. for the first 2 months... sometimes sooner in growth spurts. I must say with my daughter she can do 3 hour stretches though which is a good thing :-) hehe.

Ok.. I'm sorry if I missed somebody but I have to dash... will catch up again later when I have a chance!

beansmom: congrats on the birth of your baby... i would feed on demand, she is a nice weight now and go for your 4 hours and if she wants more earlier then you give her some and she will quickly set her pattern, its still early days. sjoe when bardon was born he drank 2 hours, he was very very hungry little boy.
angelique was like that, she drank and slept we never knew about her, she was the easiest baby ever, we even used to take her into the cinema with us and go watch movies, she would just sleep or lie there, now she is the most active 3 yr old ever!!!
you are blessed!!!!!!!!!

Nicky, glad the vacc's went well... I am so not looking forward to that, still 4 weeks to go for us before it's time for that!!!

I put Karla on her playgym when she finished feeding this afternoon... and she was looking very interested at all the toys that were hanging on the gym... But only for a while then she gets tired... I also did some tummy time with her... she is not very keen on that though... shame! Now she is in her crib and going for a nap... I think it is best that I go for a nap now as well... It is very much needed!!!

So I took Liebe for her vacc's and she was such a little angel. She screamed when they did two of them because it burns and she was quiet afterward.I had to hold he leg and wanted to cry ,but she is such a big girl and handled it really well. She sleeping now but I think it might be because of the Calpol(1.5ml) it makes them a little sleepy but it is better this way as she is sleeping through the pain.
I also rub the Arnica gel form E& A that you get at baby city into her legs to relax her muscle.

Des , enjoy you hair salon visit.I love the way it makes me feel when I've had my hair done...

Beansmom , glad to here you are doing well.Enjoy it while they still sleep so much , it changes after two weeks when they are more awake. As lientjie has said , if baby is hungry they will let you know so don't worry about the feeding too much.

Zulu , Jac , Mommy21 , how are you doing?
