Hi ladies!

Beansmom - I would push it to 4hours if I were you. If she's really hungry before then she'll def let you know! And this way you get a bit more of a rest in between. Be grateful that she's such an easy baby! And yes, it's quite normal - mine's like that as well. B)

Des - good luck with the shoot & have fun!

Pinky - a growth spurt at 2weeks is normal, but not all babies get it.
It usually only lasts for 24-48 hours.

Hope you all have a lovely & peaceful day with your LO's
:)

Hello ladies... well Tayla is 6 days old today! She is an absolute pleasure although I'm worried that this is not normal!!!

She has gone from 20 min feeds to 6 - 10 min feeds and falling asleep... We were feeding every 3 hours and waking her because the clinic said until she reaches the 3.08kg birth weight that is what should be done... I weighed her yesterday and it looks like she is 3kg again... could it be that we are feeding her too much so she is eating less?? No idea how much of course because she is breastfeeding... I might try and push it to 4 hour feeds today and test the water?!?! She actually falls asleep on the boob and nothing at all wakes her... she is feeding in just a nappy... and she bearly opens her eyes when we dress her after again...

Ooooh yes, I remember how stressed I was as well when Connor first started being awake during the day, he he, it also freaked me out Nicky because I didn't know what on earth to do - now I'm more relaxed, I talk to him, play a little, just leave him to look around, etc, nothing too hectic because I'm still careful of over-stimulation - and after awhile, he will fall off to sleep without me having to try to get him to sleep! I've learnt to do 'my' stuff in these inbetween times - I had a nice bath during his morning nap and now, he is happing again I will make some food for myself, maybe read or watch tv, etc - I first felt bad as if I wasn't doing enough with Connor during his awake times, but, now, as I see it - if he wants to nap then he will, if he doesn't, then he won't - simple!!

Girls - I'm going to have my hair blowdryed this afternoon in prep for the shoot tomorrow, while hubby looks after our boy! I'm soooooo looking forward to it you just won't believe! Before the baby, I spent a fortune on my hair - and since the baby I haven't done a thing to it - belgh, it looks like straw, tied in a ponytail!!

Nicky - good luck with the vaccs, let us know how it goes!!

My beautiful baby boy, Connor Troy, was born on 20 March 2010 and my 2nd gorgeous boy, Cullen Reece, was born on 2 September 2011 - I am very blessed indeed

Wow Pinky , your little girl is a tiny baby(no that mine is that much older but how they change from 2 weeks to 6 weeks is unreal)

Your baby will be a little bit more awake during the day now. They sleep for the first two weeks and then they start waking up slowly little bits everyday. It used to freak me out cause i didn't know what to do. But know I just leave her when she lies awake , I will talk to her , ask her what she is seeing.

I don't know how much your baby drinks but Liebe used to drink about 40ml every two to three hours when she was that age.

Well I have to get myself out of bed now and get ready for the clinic , enough laziness for today...

Good morning ladies

My little girl's name is Karla and she is now 2 weeks old. The time goes by so quickly, I can't believe it!!

Last night she didn't sleep that well like the previous nights... she gets hungry more often... maybe a growth spurt? I don't know...

I just put her down and now she is crying again... In the day I struggle with her getting to sleep!!!

Chat again later

I always told my husband that he shouldn't think that I'm being mean when I don't run to help him when he was putting B to bed. It's not that I'm not sitting there with my heart breaking but he has to learn. He does it differently than I would but he has to find what works for him. If it gets too much I usually went outside and just sat there where I couldn't hear the crying and it took a couple of nights and everytime she passes a milestone she would change how she wants to be put to bed so it wasn't just a once off thing for hubby either.

This is the first place where men usually feel pushed aside and we all have the 'you don't do it the way I do it so I'll do it' mentality and yes that is going to 'pluk 'n lat voor jou gat'

Especially when they go through stranger and seperation anxiety. It's a lot better on mommy if baby will go to daddy too.

Thanks Marijke that's a thing to remember , it's just at night I'm sometime so tired I just want her to sleep but guess "ek pluk nou n lat vir myself" , but suppose I have to let hubby do it.

Des ,don't worry about the photoshoot , it's going to be great and you and Connor or gonna have lots of fun.

He he earlier I was on here and I fell a sleep with my laptop on my lap hehe , had a quick nap.
