OMG did I have the biggest scare tonight.I was feeding Liebe on the couch all quietly listening to MK music and all of a sudden milk comes streaming from Liebe's nose , shooting out of her mouth , I thought I was going to die , you should have seen it. Zulu I remember this happend to you last week to.It is really scary!!!

Welcome Mommy 21 ,you will love it here. The hiccups are normal and they will become less as your little on gets older. The sister at the clinic also told me to feed baby every 2h , this is to establish a good milk supply. It's up to you but they do usually wake every 2-3 hours so it's up to you if you want to wake her.She will let you know if you disturb her sleep

hehe Moomie is good for the soul , it relaxes!

Speaking of pampering , I used to have a girly night for myself once a week , where I'd soak in the bath and do my nails , and put on a mask but it's out the window.

Hubby has got to work 7 days a week now until they finish their project , how depressing as he gets home after 7 every night.

Hope you all have a good night and chat tomorrow!

Ok, I have 15 minutes to spare as Lia is sleeping (she is usually awake now so I'm probably in for a late session tonight lol) and daddy took Jordan to the shop with him.

Maybe the headaches are simply from fatigue/ overtiredness. I guess my body must be taking a bit of strain, haven't even had a 3 hour stretch of sleep in weeks so I suppose it could simply be that. I guess it must be that. Oh well, I'm sure it will resolve in the next month or two somewhat *cough* lol.

In all honesty, I don't catch up my sleep.. my toddler gets up 6ish and then comes to us.. what I do get to do is just lie there and relax for an hour or so whilst daddy makes me tea and entertains my toddler. I can never manage to sleep but I do lie there and relax. Then it's up for the day and LUCKILY Jordan still naps.. but of course.. if both kiddies are sleeping.. what do I do - I come onto Moomie! I should try to nap.. but I find that this chatting is also therapeutic and I enjoy it so much so I rather come on here and check my emails/ facebook and then start peeling veggies/ preparing dinner for the evening sothat it isn't such a mission if both kids are awake when I usually want to cook. I've been going to bed late though 10/11 the last week because Lia seems to get more niggly around 8-10 these days, it's weird.

So exciting Zulu - always nice to catch up with old friends.. I'm sure you are going to have a ball :-)!!

Des, a mani and a pedi sound great... we as moms really should make a bit of time to pamper ourselves occasionally... we really do deserve it!

Keeping a newborn awake does not work really.. and if you try to keep them awake too long they get cracked out and settling them is a nightmare. If you keep doing the low-key boring thing at night..and make things more stimulating/ exciting during the day.. they eventually swap things around by themselves.. I know, it is painful, but it usually doesn't last long.

Des, will let you know tomorrow about the 15th (or later tonight I'll come post) - just need make sure my hubby hasn't arranged anything/ we haven't got anything on.

I hope you all get a fabulous night's sleep.

Take care

HI Ladies :-)

Finally I can chat on this thread, I've been reading and following your posts since PF...My LG was born 3 days over due on the 18th of April :P

We getting to know each other everyday and she is an angel. She is feeding well but nipples do become sore @ times!

I have not had time to catch up on what I've missed but would like to ask a few Q's now that she is sleeping. My LG has these bad hiccups everytime she is awake and they will last for about 3 mins, she doesn't cry but I think she is uncomfortable. Anyone know anything that can help? Or could there be some wrong?

Also yesterday I took LO for her immunisation shots @ the baby clinic and the breast feeding nurse(sic) suggested I wake LO up every 2 hours to feed as my milk came in on day 3 and my breasts are very full. Is this ok to do? Well that is to wake her and feed her? I tried doing it last night and we managed waking up every 2 hours and my breasts felt so much better afterwards...I am scared I am disrupting LO sleep.

I will come catch up on what I've missed tomorrow morning!

Hope all you LO's are good!!!

Des , I have no idea how to keep the baby awake during the day. Was thinking about the same thing this morning.

Zulu , enjoy the weekend.Nothing like a good chat between friends.I get Mybulin at my pharmacy without a prescription.

Oh dear - if he has swapped day and nights, what more can I do? I keep day time as noisy as possible - start night time with a bath, etc - how do I keep a newborn awake during the day when he wants to sleep? Ha ha - is there even such a thing as keeping a newborn awake when they don't want to be? Its not like they have an on and off button hey :)

Nicky - my mom lives in Alberton, but she doesn't drive, so she can never visit me - when I can manage I try to visit her with Connor but I wish she was closer to me .. It would be such a help!

My beautiful baby boy, Connor Troy, was born on 20 March 2010 and my 2nd gorgeous boy, Cullen Reece, was born on 2 September 2011 - I am very blessed indeed

Zulu i'm so glad it worked. It must be the closeness of mommy. At least you could catch up on some sleep.

Des , your on the right path , a mani and pedi is just the best. The hair , I had long hair and snipped it all of January to make it easier when baby is here and now I regret it , so I'm in the growing process , not much I can do.Seems like Connor is switching day and nights cause usually the long stretch should be at night. That's what Liebe did and that's why I think she didn't want to sleep. She's been a awake a lot this morning nut is taking a nap now, it took her a good hour to fall asleep.Enjoy the time with your mum , I wish I could just get int he car and drive to my mum but it's just to far.
I'm still in for the 15th.

Jacadebra , I also get the headaches. I have noticed that i get them when i'm tired. See if that is not maybe the cause.Wow all you pregnancy weight after 9 days , that's amazing and all this night walking i'm sure is gonna pay of in the end.I forget that you have a toddler , gosh that must be hard , I catch up on sleep in the morning but how do you do it if you have a toddler as well?
