Nicky - wow, sounds like Liebe really gave u a fabulous night hey? I'm so jealous, I'd loooooooove a good nights sleep. Connor was asleep after his feed at 6:00pm, then bath time and a little top up feed and he slept until 10:00pm, then he had a feed but was sleeping restlessly, I think he was having a biiiiig poo, cause he was pushing, shame, poor baba - anyway, then he was up again at 1:00, then at 4:15 and then he didn't want to sleep again until after his feed at 7:45am - sjoe, I was soooo tired! He then had a nap until 12:15, huh???? So long - maybe he copnfused night and day? What do u think? I'm taking him to the clinic to get. weighed tomorrow and then I'm going to visit my mom for the day - yay, spending the time with granny, he he - my mom will make me tea the whole day and I can feel human again!!

I booked a mani and pedi for myself for Sat morning, hubby will look after baba - I really feel like I need the pampering, my nails loo awful - so does my hair, its always tied back these days, and I'm actually super obsessive with my hair - so its sucky that it doesn't lool like much these days, I need a makeover, ha ha

Ok - so who is in for the 15th?

My beautiful baby boy, Connor Troy, was born on 20 March 2010 and my 2nd gorgeous boy, Cullen Reece, was born on 2 September 2011 - I am very blessed indeed

Des, I think most babies sleep a lot longer at night from about 8ish weeks - but each baby really is different so it is difficult to say.

Yay for getting out a bit Nicky, it really DOES make one feel human again.. seriously! lol
SO glad you had such an awesome night as well, hopefully Liebe keeps it up :-). Hopefully you get the constipation thing sorted out with her asap - I don't know much about it so I don't really have any advice.

I haven't even had a 4 hour stretch of sleep out of Lia yet (she had one or two at the hospital, that's it) LOL, but at least I'm getting a few 3 hour stretches again, so that's ok.

Strangely enough I lost all my baby weight by 9 days after Lia was born (don't know how, but somehow did) BUT I still don't fit into all my pre-preggie clothes. I have less muscle and more fat so though I way the same my bum and tum are not as toned... oh well. Very annoying but yeah, it took me much longer to lose weight with my son, I didn't even lose all my pregnancy weight with him, kept 3kg's extra on. Strange how your "proportions" change when you become a mom, even when you do get your figure back it is slightly different. I've been eating tons but generally very healthy stuff. Because I spend the whole day with my son, i tend to be in a regular eating routine (meals & snacks) and we generally eat healthy stuff together.

I'll just make sure with hubby that we don't have anything on 15 May, I'm so clueless.. he often arranges stuff from his side and my memory is dodgy so I forget, lol. Will be great meeting up with you ladies!

I was walking the passages again last night at 12pm - luckily it was only for 45 minutes and after that she slept fine again, thank heavens.

She still has a slightly snotty nose but it is much better. Yay.

Otherwise, still have headaches... I wonder what from - Zulu, are you still having them too?

I will try the Mybulin, thanks for mentioning!

My son and I put Lia in the pram (closed up) and went for a nice long walk through our estate this morning - nice to get outside a bit anyway, between my son and Lia and being indoors trying to get random stuff done I'm going a bit batty, and so is my son lol. I'm sure we will be going out a bit more now that most of the flu was gone, I just wanted to try get everybody healthy so we stayed home for a few days.

Anyway, I'm rambling... must be tired.
Hope you all have a fabulous day

Just got to share , we had a great night last night!!!!

Liebe fell asleep round about 6 , I said to hubby lets leave her and wait until she wakes up and then I will go and bath her. So she woke up just after 9pm , took her for a bath , gave her bottle and within half an hour she was a sleep , slept until 3am , drank and slept again.Woke up at 6 for another feed , fell asleep again and woke at 09:30.

It feels like I have been on holiday!!!

I discovered that she is constipated ,I have no idea how to fix it. Julz said it might be her milk so I will have to see if that is it. Maybe get in contact with Isomil Company directly and find out.

Emotionally i'm really feeling better , I think it was the outing yesterday.

Liebe is starting to do more baby talk ,it's so sweet.Just want to kiss her when she does it , can't wait for that smile , hopefully it will be round about next week that's what the book says but it's just an estimate.

Well I hope all of you are doing well and are still having fun.

Hello Ladies ,

I missed you all today but getting out of the house did wonders for me. I feel so refreshed and happy even though I did not have much sleep.

Beansmom , thanks for the recipe. My milk is now completely gone. Liebe is now on formula all the time. I read up on the internet that eating lots of carbs and drinking beer and pumping every 3 hour will help , but nothing helped. I think it would have been different if I was able to give Liebe my breast from day one and didn't have to pump every feed.Looking forward to seeing you here soon , the ladies here are all angels!!!

Welcome back Lientjie , glad you found us.

Zulu , try putting your arm out and letting your little girl sleep with her head in the fold there where your elbow is and let her face you. I find with Liebe that she wants to smell my skin , when ever she cries and I put my skin close to her she calms , maybe see if your little girl will sleep that why.I think it is closeness that they are after.

Jacadebra , shame walking at that time of the night with a baby refusing to sleep , I would also be grumpy. For your headaches , why don't you try Mybulin , doctor gave it for me when my stitches had to heal and now I take it for headaches.

Des ,hope you enjoyed your day out , glad Connor was such a good boy.

Hubby is working this weekend , and Saturday he is going to Loftus to watch rugby in the losie , so i'll just take it easy at home.
The 15th sounds great , I think it's going to be really nice.

Zulu i've also got a horrible appetite which mostly consist of unhealthy things , Jacadebra you cant throw yourself off a cliff , we will miss you to much here.We will get this diet thing right as well in the end.

Marijke , I must find ways in keeping Liebe a wake cause during day time(wish it was night time) when she sleeps she sleeps , a bomb can explode in our living room she will just carry on sleeping.he he

Hi girls, finally I have a chance to reply : )

Nicky, incidentally, I was awake at 3 - 4 this morning for Connors feed, sorry that it sounds like Liebe has her nights and days confused - if it were Connor, I wouldn't have a clue what to do - I'm not even sure what I'm doing now, ha ha

When can we expect our lo's to sleep longer at night? Does anyone know? And when can we expect our lo's to be a bit more social, ie - smiling, coo'ing - actually 'seeing' us, etc ?

I had lunch with a friend today, what a mission getting myself and Connor ready, ha ha - its insane how much energy goes into packing and leaving the house - I'm totally exhausted now!! Lucky for me, Connor let me have a nice, relaxing lunch and he slept through it all - aaaaah, it was bliss!!! I used to lunch with my girls all the time, and that just doesn't happen these days, he he

Lonnnng weekend coming up so I will have hubby at home to help me with Connor, yay 4 me - what are you ladies doing?

Are you girls up for a get together at my house on the 15th May? I'm thinking I will have a nice lunch prepared for us and we can visit, share stories and get to know each other - our lo's can be as noisy as they need to and we can feed and change our babas at leisure! What do u say?

Jacadebra - I also had to 'walk' my baby to sleep last night, oi oi oi !!

Chat later lovely ladies!!

Ps. Welcome Leitjie and Beansmom!!

Yay for doing your hair Zulu! I need to do something with mine.. it is like long.. straw.. lol. It is always scraped back into a ponytail these days.

The baby acne will go away on its own - unfortunately there is nothing you can do for it... it just goes away eventually. Took a couple of months with my LB and he had it quite bad. Just don't pick at it as it can cause scars.

I was up at 4am.. walking up and down the dark house with Lia as she didn't want to sleep.. but she didn't want to lie on the bed..or my chest or do anything else.. wanted to be carried up and down.. gah!!! I wasn't warmly dressed so when I got into bed again I was grumpy and freezing. I kept saying to myself that I'd better be getting skinny from all this walking because I'm ready to throw myself off a cliff.. LOL.

I have no advice Zulu.. do what you need to to get some rest, but if it starts bothering you, then you will just have to put her down.. when she screams after being put in her cot, pick her up and sooth her back to sleep and repeat a zillion times until she realizes that she will end up in bed anyway. It is time and energy consuming though... :-(.

When my son swapped days and nights around he fixed it after about a week or so by himself. I just tried to keep it low key and boring and dark at night, less playing etc.. and play more and make daytime more fun to be awake. I have never had luck keeping a baby awake in the day.. if they want to sleep.. they do it.. I just try to talk more excitably whilst feeding or make faces or see if they are keen on going on the playmat. But, if they pass out I just put them back in their bed.

**waves** Hello Lietjie - Hi beansmom (will be seeing you here soon again I'm sure :-))

I'd love to stop changing nappies in the middle of the night.. but unfortunately my baby just poops too much lol. Definitely one advantage for the formula mommies... babies poop less. I know they say breastfed babies can go for a week without pooping, but both mine pooped almost every time they ate when newborn. I occasionally am lucky and skip a nappy change but I've gone through TONS of nappies.. especially seeing my little girl was feedign every 2 hours the last few days. It seems she may have been having her growth spurt with her cold.. as today she has fed every 3 hours so far.. YAY!! Hopefully she keeps that up tonight and doesn't decide to drink every hour to compensate LOL.

Anyway, smashing headache again... and toddler will be awake soon.

Take care everybody and SMILE... you're the best mommy in the world... and your LO knows it :-)
