Next weekend's the long weekend?? I'll be working Friday and Sat from 10am so if it's near to my house i can do an early breakfast, but my folks are coming that weekend.

Adri, you probably hit send just as the site was down. So annoying when that happens!

Desiree, Connor looks like such a man in front of that TV. Although I'm not keen on Emily watching either she definitely takes after her dad (and maybe her mom). I think it's the moving pictures that they like. We've all learnt from your sugar-rush lesson. Gave Emily a bean today - man did she like it. It's nice to "chew" on - was just worried about one of those little things inside popping out through one of the ends, but it all worked out ok. Will post a pic or two soon. Lazy to upload.

Des, I honestly see nothing wrong with putting baby in front of the TV while you get ready. We are not superhuman!!! And sometimes toys and playgym are not enough for the 30-45 minutes you need to get ready. so no judgement from me as I will most definitely be doing the same for this little one :)

and he looks absolutely mesmorised by it!!!!

oohh I also want to come to the breakfast :) and next weekend suits me better too :p

Hi girls...

@Scribbling - yeah, Im away this weekend - we're off to Clarens for some much needed r&r - so if you guys do have a get together, pse do it nxt weekend, I'd so love to be part of it and see your babies...gosh, they were all so small at that first get together, we've come so far - well done to us!! AND ditto on your comments, Im so with you - lets all stop trying to impress everyone else and just do what, at the end of the day, works best for us and our babies...afterall, we all have mommy instincts and we will hopefully do what we know and feel is right - and if we make a mistake (like me giving my poor child his first sugar rush with that stupid finger biscuit, he he) or two along the way, we'll pick ourselves up and get on with it! I hope you took pics of your little madam gumming sucking her fruit and I defs want pics of her and the broccoli - I bought some long stemmed broccolli @ woolies, and also want to see how Connor does with it.

@Adri - I tried Connor with some cereal at about 4.5months and he was definitely not ready for it, and he made it very clear, lol - so, I waited until 5.5 months and he is enjoying every moment of it!

Girls - another confession, and please do not judge me, lol - this morning was quite hectic, hubby is away again and Connor was awake EARLY and I had to get myself ready for work after I had fed and changed him - all I can say is THANK GOD for CBeebies, lol, it kept him occupied and I managed to get dressed and ready for work. Here is a pic of him look very very occupied, lol

My beautiful baby boy, Connor Troy, was born on 20 March 2010 and my 2nd gorgeous boy, Cullen Reece, was born on 2 September 2011 - I am very blessed indeed

Ladies I could do breakfast on Saturday - not working, yeehah! But Desiree, you're not here, right. Would love to catch up with all of you. It's been so long.

Adri, Emily sleeps really well at night. Although she's five months (and four days) old I don't think she's ready for solids yet. I can tick most of the boxes on that list except the hungrier ones. Maybe this is because of the topping up. But she sleeps really well at night (although the last two nights she's been waking up at 4-ish, so I'm keeping an eye on her. Maybe she's gearing up for solids). But each baby's different and each mommy's different and you'll know when's the right time to start her on solids. I think people make such an issue about things and there's so much pressure on us to be the best mommies that we can that we feel guilty about every little thing that we do or don't do. If you want to try formula don't feel bad about it - despite the big hoo-hah about exclusively breastfeeding I can tell you from looking at my friends' babies that there's bugger all wrong with them from having formula. And Emily's quite a robust little baby - it may just be her constitution and have nothing to do with the formula top-ups, who knows. On the other hand, if you want to try solids that's perfectly fine too. I think Kara will let you know quite quickly if she's not happy with something.

Desiree I love hearing all about Connor's new adventures. I cannot wait to experiment with Emily. It's going to be such fun! I gave her a carrot to suck on the other day. She loved it. And she's also sucked on a piece of apple (I know, I know, fruit's not the best thing to start her on, but she relished every suck, it was too precious). And I bought a bunch of brocolli yesterday so we'll see what she thinks about that. Just trying to introduce her to new flavours, even if she's not ready for solids just yet.

@ Adri, I was just also noticing the age of your LG. She might be going through her 4 month growth spurt? James woke up for 3 nights and then went back to his old sleeping pattern at about the same age. I just fed him more during the day... Also I know that some babies do what is called reverse cycling. Basically, they prefer the breast to a bottle, so start to take less milk during the day when mom is at work and make up ther daily requirement at night...
I really think that she is still young for solids, but loads of people still start at four months with no problems, so you must do what works for you:)
