Newborn and baby advice

Pinky, how did Karla sleep last night? Dear little Emily woke up at 2.30am and thought it would be fun to stay awake until 4.30am. A breastfeed and two bottles later, madam slept until 8am. I was thinking that maybe Karla's been so niggly because she's teething? Are her gums swollen...?? Does anybody know why a breastfeeding baby starts biting? We had words this morning (ok I had words, Emily just stared at me).

1st Timer, I have to take Emily for her rotavirus drops - they were out of stock when she had her last jabs and the strike didn't help matters. Those playgroups fill up quickly. As do private schools. I'm glad you said big babies usually roll and crawl late - Desiree, has Connor been on a roll yet? Naddah from Emily.

Bronz, I hope whatever's in the air flies away soon. 1.5hrs - hectic stuff!! Are you still donating breastmilk? How's it going?

Hi ladies,

James is 4.5m now and such a happy chappy. He went on rice cereal last week (6 tsp) and has gone back to sleeping 10-11hrs which I am loving. He still only naps for 40mins at a stretch in the day but I guess you win some you lose some!

He goes for his last rotavirus booster today at the clinic. He was 9.2kg last week wed so I reckon 9.5kg-ish today but I want to see how tall he is. He's a big boy! He's sitting unsupported and plays quite happily but has completely forgotten how to roll despite doing it quite a bit between 6-10weeks. I'm not concerned though. Big babies usual roll, crawl etc late and I'm in no hurry for him to get mobile.

I must be honest I am quite anal about tv. If J is in the room the tv goes off - no exceptions. I don't like how he immediately drops everything to watch it. But it's early days still so we'll see how long that lasts!

Otherwise he is such a happy laughing boy and I love him so much. More everyday. I love that I get to stay home with him and am nor missing work at all which I thought I would. Somehow my days are still hecticaly busy. This week mostly I've been looking at playgroups. Can you believe some are already full for 2012!? Crazy.

Hey Ladies

I think there is something in the air lately. For the last few days Graeme has been out of sorts (4 month regression or is that only sleep? *mental note to google). He was on the boob for 1.5 hours yesterday, he just would not let me take him off. He has been feeding lots and wants constant attention - not great while I am trying to meet deadlines.

Pinky I can wait for summer, dying to do all the pool and water things. You must post a pic.

Desiree If Conner really liked the biscuit, Woolies has an organic teether biscuit. It is almost free of everything, no funny stuff. It is sweetened with apple juice. Really good if you want avoid the extra sugar.

Graeme loves the Tv, if it is on he will stare at it. I am also not so keen on tv but you do what you must to get certain things done and every thing in moderation is fine.

Scribblingal, We are at Magaliespark holiday resort and she swam with us in the hot water pool... Sooo cute!?

It will be great if we kniw your schedule, then we can organise something!

I gave her formula in the bottle, maybe it is also just becase sh i over hungry or over tired... Tonigh she drank well and will hopefully sleep long...

Pinky, where does Karla swim? I wors most Saturdays. And my boss hasn't distributed the roster for October yet. As soon as he does I'll let you know.

What are you giving Karla in the bottle? Maybe she has wind? Emily has really started buggering around during feeding time, looking around, laughing, and sometimes crying too - but she usually does that when she's really tired or hungry. Where are you going for the long weekend?

Hi ladies!!

Karla had her first taste of rice cereal yesterday, and it seemed like she enjiyed it... Didn't spit out too much! I definitely think she is ready for it, because she has been waking up so many times these couple of weeks, at 12, 2 & 5/6. I only offer her the breast at 2, but tonight I will give one at 12 then maybe she will only wake up at 4 again! She has been very difficult these couple of weeks, she cries while feeding and doesn't feed properly so I gave her a bottle but she doesn't drink that properly as well!! I don't know what to do...

Karla had her first swim yesterday and she loved it!!! She looked so cute in her little costume... Adorable... Will post a photo later...

Ladies I would love to do a get together... But next weekend we are away for the long weekend... Maybe we must organise a get together in advance say for a saturday in october when scribblingal is not working and we can all book it in our diaries... What do you ladies think?
