Hey Ladies

We are well. Only exciting thing lately is explosive nappies. Been studying, at least I am getting that done.

Oh something odd. Been doing a top up at night of formula and Graeme has gone back to sleeping 7 to 12 from 7 till 2. Lets hope its temporary.

yoza: Sorry to hear about the bronchitis, hope she gets better soon. I am also in CT, where abouts are you?

ScribblingAl: It is a very small world, happy to hear they saying good things. Why on earth was she trying to undo clothing... I firmly believe mother knows best. ( As in the babys mommy)

Mrs S H: Welcome. Graeme is 9 weeks (wow time flies) and we don't have a schedule apart from his last feed and I like to get him down between 7 and 8. He will sleep about a 12 hour stretch waking up about 3 times.

Hi all you ladies

Well, Karla is having her first outing with grandma without mommy.... I think it is more stressful for mommy than for her... hehehehe

Karla is getting so cute now with all the laughing and giggles and 'talking' (making noises)!!! I love her to bits and hubby enjoys her more now that she is older!

I got a voucher from friends for a mani and a pedi and can't wait to use it to just spoil myself a little!!!

@ Mrs SH, 4 weeks is very early to be getting into a routine, especially if you are breatfeeding:)
I love breastfeeding, its def the easier option in some respects (I have food available on my LO on tap and save a fortune on formular), the downside is that by demand feeding your routine is normally around when they decide they are hungry (which can be erratic,especially when the weather is hot - they eat frequent short meals to quench thirst, or when they are growing at 6weeks, 8 weeks, 10 etc...)
My routine goes like this at the moment...morning wakeup and feed, then baby massage, change and play, sleep..the rest of the day go with his feeds...after his 6 o clock feed bath and put to bed, then I make sure I wake him between 9 and 10 when I'm going to bed so that he has a longe sleep in he ealry part of the night. Good luck though:)

hope all is well. have been reading but too darn lazy to post.

ok so whats been happening. Buhle is sick she has bronchilits. She was put on the nebuliser. but my princess is well on her way to recovery.

She now weighs a whopping 8,95ks. the pead did say big babies tend to be chesty,

Im already thinking of solids. Oh no my baby is growing. i miss my newborn. pead said i can start at four months. just worried that she will pick uo weight fast. she already wears number four diaper.

my dad said buhle takes after me apparantly i was a huge and chubby baba. oh she is so cute and adorable i love my lil princess. ok now i miss my baba's

she is learning how to seat. not stressing about it though.

oh what else now that lil madad has been sick not so much a formula person thank God I have been expressing and stocked on BM. So the nanny has been giving her that. two days she was not drinking. she drank when i arrive from work.

And yep no sleep for me. wakes every two hours for a feed. ive decided to just put her in my bed when she whines i just pluck the breast and i sleep. bad mummy i dont burp. she just goes by herself.


who is a capetonian. i do think a meet should be on the table to discuss. date and venue ladies. we can do my house.

Sorry, I'm spamming the forum today. Procrastinating on my research report Beansmom I was just thinking about what you said about Tayla being off the breastmilk since the formula top-ups. It's less work for them to drink from the bottle, so maybe she's just being a bit lazy? I find that during the day Emily gets a bit niggly on the boob, and pulls away, really arses around and plays with her food, but she'll gulp down the formula like there's no tomorrow. However, at night and in the early morning she drinks from the boob like a real little guzzler. I asked the sister at the baby clinic about it and she said that Emily may be starting to wean herself off the boob. The drinking so well at night could be because it's more comforting. Who knows. How does she drink breastmilk from the bottle?

Ah Beansmom that was hilarious! I can just picture the scene and hope that I can be as brave. You must have felt like you'd taken a load off!

Holy Moly but it's fahreezing in Joburg and our geyser seems to have packed up. Earliest we can get a plumber in is tomorrow morning so we're boiling water on the stove like real campers. Actually no. Campers have ablution blocks with warm water... Brrr. Haven't stopped stuffing food into my mouth all day.

Pinky and Adri, how's the studying going? I want to know how the hell you ladies find time to get things done!

Meags, where've you been? I have questions about the orphanage. Do they accept tins of formula? I have a tin of S26 and Isomil that we tried with Emily and they didn't work and I don't want to just throw them away. Also, I have some clothes that don't fit my little chipmunk and was wondering if I could donate them.

Bronz, you've also been quiet. I was chatting to a woman at work and I saw some damn cute photos on her computer screen of her kids. I asked her who the photographer was and... our world is so small... it was your cousin! She came very highly recommended.
