Tazzy yes, I had to come into hospital tonight. So we went for a quick early dinner and now we're here, just waiting for the sisters to do the check in procedure.

I will try and post pics ASAP tomorrow or maybe mms one to Emsmom or Mistymom so they can post for me.

Still can't believe my turn is finally here!! Doubt I'm going to get any sleep tonight! :D

Hi girls

Gosh it sucks not having time for personals and catch up properly!!!
Saturday night was so bad when he cried from 8pm-2am that it has taken like 2 days to recover slightly!! At least he's been better since then.

I wanted to ask...do you ladies wake your babies for feeds or only feed when they wake themselves?
I was told to wake him every 3 hours during the day and leave him to sleep at night so that he can learn the difference between day and night. Generally he does wake on his own though during the day anywhere from 1 and a half hours up to 3 hours. but on the odd occassion he is FAST asleep still at 3 hours and we've been waking him...but I am thinking I should be leaving him to sleep? what do you guys do?

We are going to meet some friends for lunch today - I hope he behaves....

My mom is really taking over and its getting a little annoying! Shame she is REALLY helpful and as I said before, I wouldnt have coped without her and I appreciate everything. but like now every morning she takes out something for him to wear, she just does all the feeds (I think she assumes I just need to pump at those times). But I feel like she's taking over the mommy role a bit too much :(

update on breastfeeding...well I had blocked milk duct on Saturday night but by Sunday it was HUGE! not sore. but huge. anyway just massaged, warm compress etc etc etc and finally it unblocked early monday morning (50ml extra came out!!). Boob is still very tender...think its from the pressure massaging and maybe a bit bruised? well before it unblocked I was sitting on the chair pumping and cursing DH in my head...everytime I complain about pumping or say my boobs are sore or anything, he says nothing!! I always just want him to say that if I cant do it anymore, its ok with him...but he doesnt!
so anyway..before duct opened...I decided I cant pump anymore. its too sore, my nipples are raw beyond belief, my boobs ache, the pump has given me stretch marks on my boobs etc etc etc. then it unblocked and I felt better again!
saw chiro yesterday and he suggested I contact their midwife for a lactation consultant (LC) to help with breastfeeding again. so did that.
Have now got new LC who emailed me a different way to bottle feed (imitating breast feeding positions, skin to skin etc) so got to buy different bottles. she says hard part is milk supply, easy part is breastfeeding so she says since milk supply is good, it will work. so Matt needs to get his tongue snipped...wish I didnt cancel the appointment now!! as soon as its snipped, she will come help me with latching etc.
when chiro mentioned to try BF again, my mom said to him "but isnt it too late now he's been on the bottle?" chiro said absolutely not. then mom said "but it's just so stressful when she tried to BF" so I said "no mom...it's only stressful for you." and she said nothing...
I am kind of dreading attempting it again with her still here......I just wish she wouldnt stare at me while I am doing it as I can see stress in her facial expressions and then she wants to stroke Matts hair while he's screaming and I'm trying to latch him...aahh it's a nightmare!
so anyway...yes...I will be attempting the BF one more time hopefully within the next week. I want the LC to come at least every 2nd day if not every day until he is BF properly so that I dont give up again... however, if this doesnt work...I think I will be stopping the pumping. as when my mom leaves, I cant manage everything on my own.

sorry for no personals other than
"congrats Anje and Amy on your babies!!"
and
"good luck to schatsie for tomorrow - I can only imagine your relief that it is finally your turn and you must be ecstatic to finally get to meet your little Arno"

hi everyone else :) Maybe this afternoon after lunch outing I can get a chance for personals. I do read all the updates and have so much I want to say to each and every one of you!!

Hey ladies!

Schatsie!! Yay!! Finally you get your baby, and your body gets a break! Best of luck! Cannot wait to hear all about it and see the photos!!

Cath, thanks for the info re BDing, DH was super glad to hear that :)

Betty, that bookcase looks stunning! Well done to your DH.

Kimika do you maybe have a baby swing you can put him in? Or even a beanbag where you can "fold" it around him so it feels like he is still in your arms?

Lucy lucky you on the 7 hours! Must feel fab! Kate gave me 6 hours the night before last, but I still find myself waking. Need to get out of that habbit :)

AFM, took Kate for her weigh in today and she has gain 400g in a week - so she has more than gained her lost birth weight and now is on 4.02kg :) Sadly she has a bit of thrush, most likely from the anitbiotics she was on in hospital, but we have cream for that and I'm sure it will be sorted soon soon.

Hugs to all.

Amy - so glad you are enjoying your lg. how is everything going..feeding, sleeping etc?
fx = fingers crossed (good luck)
afm = as for me

you dont need to apply anything to your cut - it will heal by itself.
I never saw my stitches - they were all internal so Im not sure about that. They say after 6 weeks you"re good to go!

The numbness will be there for a while as they cut through nerves> i never really got the feeling back around my scar at all but it does get better.

Cath -i also thought it was 6 weeks to bd. So thanks for sooner info. The high libido in pregnancy thing skipped me big time while I was preggy. But have to say it is back with avegence now. lucky hubby!

tazzy and cath - I have a table of what when for both state and gov that I can scan in and post. On phone now, but when I can get to proper laptop will post for you guys. If you go gov route then you have to start with it, apparently can't join half way through.

SCHATSIE - WHOOP WHOOP. GOOD LUCK. ENJOY IT, IT IS A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE.Keep us posted as soon as you are up to it.

Rakker - so you'll be next. Good luck with all Meags tricks.

Kimika - so glad little R is back to happy self. Awesome. Side effects sound hectic.

Hi ladies.

Schatsie its great news. You must be busy with the last minute preparations. Are you going to hospital tonight ?? Good luck and will be thinking of u.

Rakker I hope things progress well for you.
Where does the name Rakker come from?

Lucy those seven hours sleep, man am I jealous. Most I get is three. I'd kill for seven. Lucky fish.

About the vaccines, iv gone the government way. Baby had polio drops and a bcg injection on second day in hospital and in six weeks I'll be going to a private midwife. Don't know the charge yet.

We haven't named our lg yet. Oh man she so sweet. Iv waited so long to hold my baby , now I can't believe it. You know she looks exactly like our first boy, just smaller I sometimes wonder what it would be like to have him around. I still do miss him. Alot. Just makes my heart so sore at times.
Well I'm grateful to have her. She just makes me so happy.

I have a couple questions wat does fx and afm mean? And am I suppose to apply any ointment or anything to the ceaser stitches?? How long did it take for your stitches to dissolve? I feel numbness around my navel?? Is this normal??
