Amy and Anje congrats!! Well done to you both!

Amy, you can bath, shower, whatever after your c-section. Pain management depends on you - I stopped taking my meds after I left hospital, but if you need then just keep taking what they gave you at the hospital. Oh and yes normal to feel a bit sensitive around the cut when standing.

Schatsie I'm glad you are back at home! Please take care of yourself. Not long to go now, and remember firstly not all women scream while in labour - I didn't. And also even though I had a booked c-section with Em, I went into labour early and they did the c-section within 4 hours of me getting there (I think it was that long cause I got there at 3am)

Rakker sorry about the scare love, must have been really frightening. But glad all is ok.

Joli that is so lovely about Kayla helping out. Em really also wants to, but at this stage we think Kate is too small to let her try change a nappy. But we do let her feed her a bottle.

AFM, we had our newborn shoot today, cannot wait to see the pics, Kate looks so cute! But was a busy day and by 4pm I was finished! We had Ems teachers baby shower, which was sweet, so first had to go shopping to get her a gift (baby city scares the hell out of me BTW), then the photoshoot, then MIL came to visit. Em also then had a runny tummy and pooped all over the lounge floor - and Kate has been feeding non stop today, so must be a growth spurt. But anyways, now Em is fast asleep and Kate is snoring (TOO cute) next to me so I can chill a bit

Phew Rakker what a horrible scare you had!! You have my sympathy! I am SO with you on what an absolute miracle it is when everything goes well in your pregnancy and when your baby is born healthy and normal!!

Also, my dr always says if I have ANY concerns I must immediately phone him, because things can go very wrong so quickly. So there is absolutely nothing wrong with how you reacted - it was good that you went and rather had it checked out, even if it was absolutely nothing!

Ladies MIL and FIL have arived for weekend and moomie doesn't seem to be working on my phone, so please excuse me if I am scarce ......... will try sort it out.

Amy = I also showered day after. Then i wasn't able to take proper pain meds (allergies) so I washed at the basin with a face cloth for the next few days. Then i just showered. I have micropore over cut and I try to mostly keep my back to the water.

AFM: For the first time during this pregnancy I had an "Oh hell, something is wrong with the baby" episode. I felt movement that felt unlike any movement I have been used to. Rhythmic movement in a different place and a lot faster than hickups. Then suddenly no movement at all. And no matter how I poked and prodded and in which position I put my body, I could get no movement at all. After all the effort I just grabbed my phone and car key, got into the car to go to the gynae and started preparing myself for the worst. There I was crying my eyes out and already asking myself if I would try for another LO if I lose this one...

While sitting in the waiting room I felt faint movement and told the receptionist I think everything is OK. She still insisted I get put on the machine to monitor fetal heart rate. Gynae put me on the machine for so long that I almost fell asleep. Of course, no problem detected. Baseline heart rate of 140. Boy, did I love hearing that heart beat! My gynae and her receptionist were such angels. I even got a chocolate biscuit from the receptionist to get my LG going. Gynae says the funny movement was probably due to pressure on a nerve of LG that caused a kind of "nervous twitch". There I was thinking it is convulsions or something. And the decrease in movement she says might be what you often experience close(ish) to birth.

So, to all my forum sisters who have been through a scare like this and those who did lose their babies, I understand now a little bit of what you went through. And I realise again what a miracle it is if nothing goes wrong before, during and after birth. And I regret complaining about the gymnastics in my tummy the past week or so . Of course some huge kicks later in the day, but bring it on!

LOL Schatsie just had to smile. When Kayla was I was in the active birth unit. She was born with no drugs - waterbirth - anyways afterwards I went to shower and Kayla was taken to the ward where my sister watched her. The ladies in there all asked my sister - is that the baby who's mom was screaming like that?? While I was in labour I never thougth I screamed so loud, but apparently I did. And then the same happened with Megan. DH said he never thought I could be so loud, it was actually scary. So ya when you in labour it really is the only way to cope with the pains. I think Megan screamed when she came out cause she got a big fright I just had to scream with the pushing!

Amy - so glad your baby is doing well and that you can hold her in your arms. Amy my tummy was VERY sensitive for nearly 5 weeks (but alot of moms say they never had pain for so long). Anyways I took the prescribed pain meds and when I got home had to go get more as the pain was unbearable for over a week. Took myprodol. I also didn't wet the scar - so I just rinsed in the bath. I showed about 5 days later and then just let the water ran over the scar - not soaking it.

Can't wait for some news from Anje.

We are still waiting to hear from the insurance! So annoying. At least my client is OK now. I'm going to do a family shoot for her for free .

Got a busy weekend ahead. Tomorrow morning got 10 month old twin girls for a shoot, another family shoot tomorrow afternoon and another shoot Sunday morning.

O ya, wanted to say Kayla is such a big help - glad my kids are not close together. Today we went to the park and on the way back Megan didn't want to walk anymore. So I carried her and Kayla pushed the pram. She also changed a poo nappy today - yay less work for me and she was actually very happy to do so he he.

Mistymom, are you enjoying your ML? I must say that after being in hospital for 2 days, I appreciate being home a lot more now.

Faw congrats on your Islamic divorce going thru. I'm sure you're glad that he didn't pitch cause it must've made things a lot easier for you!

Betty good to see your nursery is coming along nicely now - it will be a huge weight off your mind. Also good that your PA is back at work and you can take things a bit more slowly at work now. Enjoy a nice break over the weekend!

I'm very happy to be home with DH and my doggies - I really missed all of them!! Still feeling quite ill from the cold, but my BP stabilised, there were no more protein traces in my urine, no more headaches or nausea and baby looked perfectly happy on the fetal monitor.

I'm still very disappointed that dr didn't deliver baby early, but on the other hand, it is good for him to be in there as long as possible.

I quickly took my friend out for her birthday cake and coffee which I missed yesterday and made a quick pitstop at Baby City for (really) final baby shopping and now I'm back in bed. Need to get lots of rest to get over this cold before baby comes in 2 weeks!

Gee I must tell you, my room at Panorama was close to the delivery rooms and last night we heard this woman screaming like a lunatic. The other lady in the room with me asked if I heard it, cause I had my earphones on. She thought maybe the lady was upset because maybe someone died or something like that, but it turns out she was in labour. Apparently they went out for dinner and a movie and her water broke and she came to hospital ASAP, but by the time they got there it was too late for an epidural so she had to deliver without any painkillers. My roommate said she never thought people really went on like that in labour and that it only happened on TV. Afterwards I told my hubby that if that had to happen to me, I swear I will kill my gynae for being so damn conservative and insisting on only doing my C sec at 39 weeks - I have heard that most drs do it at 38 weeks?

Our room was also right opposite the nursery and last night we saw a very proud daddy showing off his newborn, still unbathed and wrapped in a towel to his family. It was sooooo sweet! It still feels unreal that in less than 2 weeks it will be our turn!!

Well, back to rest for me.
