Meags I'm SO happy for you that Matt is doing so much better with the chiro!! It must be a HUGE relief! His pics are too gorgeous!! He has the cutest little mouth!

Betty gee the rugby was bad! DH and I went to watch it at De Kelder and it was really awful to watch. On the upside Castle was having this promotion and DH won 2 Springbok caps and 4 rugby balls, so Arno now has lots of rugby balls in his room. I admire you for being so busy at this stage still!! I don't even have the energy to go to a shop anymore - I am just lying in bed all day, beyond useless!

Gee and you Emsmom! You certainly don't sound like someone who recently had a c section! You sound super active and "back to normal"!

Kimika, nice to hear from you again! Clever of you to have picked up on R's constipation!

Faw glad to hear that things are looking better on your side!

Joli shame man, I hope things get better for you guys soon!

AFM phew, what a day! I had to go to the hospital at 10h00 for my stress test. I got there and my BP was high again plus there was protein in my urine again, so the sister phoned my dr and I had to be admitted again! I was in a total state and couldn't stop crying! I've hated hospitals since my childhood and just can't bear the thought of having to stay there for days on end!

I went through all the 100 questions for admission, etc. and they got me to do a 2nd urine sample, but this time they told me to do it "midstream" and lo and behold, this one was clean! Luckily my dr also popped in just after that and said I could go home! He reminded the sister that they should always do it midstream seeing that in pregnancy we often have vaginal discharge which otherwise ends up in the sample causing a false positive.

So after being in hospital for 3 hours I got to come home. I'm super relieved! Still feeling rather ill and staying in bed with this terrible cold, but at least I'm home! Have to see gynae again tomorrow and then go to hospital for the stress testing every 2 days, but that's quite bearable compared to staying there permanently.

I have typed this a couple of times and had to update it as I have typed and then got disturbed and then never send it and so it’s a bad circle that continues.
As I already told you I am a single woman again when it comes to being muslim. You have no idea how I feel and releaved I am. Its one chapter closed. My waiting period may be very long, it just depends if my menstral cycle comes back or not and when, but he cannot contest it or try fix it. It is finished and final and no one can do anything to change it. It’s his fault for not being there and he can cry alone in his bed or where ever he wants. The Imam I have been dealing with was so happy and excited for me. He ran to my mom to tell her the news before I could. My mom has bought steak to celebrate. As for visitation rights whatever is decided in the civil court is what happens and the shariah court leave it up to them.
I have mastitis again, but in my other breast. Went to a doctor because it wasn’t emptying at all and it’s getting worse. Cabbages, expressing, hot and cold, but nothing seems to have worked. Doctor thinks it turning into a cyst. So I am on anti biotics and pain meds. On Friday I went to my old doctor because it was getting worse and she has put me onto more anti biotics and she didn’t charge me for the consultation.. she is such a honey. It hasn’t made much difference, except the pain is gone unless I touch it. The blockage still hasn’t cleared. I’ll see what is happening and call her on Tuesday at the latest. I will have been on anti biotics for 8 days by then and finished all of it.
On Friday Sulaiman turned 2 years old. We had a party for him yesterday. He didn’t get cake last year let alone anything else. A friend who specialises in birthday parties made the cake for us free of charge, so he got a pooh bear cake. There were about 6 children and about 10 adults. We had a very nice time and he got a lot of winter clothing so at least I don’t have to buy him any this winter. I took loads of photo’s.
My mom and I suspect that my brother has gone back onto drugs due to the way he is behaving. He was doing tik and dagga for 18 months out of 2 years and spent 7 months in pollsmore for dealing in drugs. We are hoping that we are wrong though. The only way to tell would be to do a drug test on him and since he doesn’t live here its impossible to do, but his behaviour is druggie behaviour at the moment. Time will tell though.

Anje congratulations on the birth of your baby. I am sure you think you are in heaven!!!
Meags I hope that things settle down for you. I am glad that the chiro is working. I am sure that you will cope when your mom leaves because you have so much experience with babies and things do get easier. I am glad to hear about the weight gain. Abdul was weighed on Monday and is now 3.6kg, so he picked up all his weight he lost and an extra 400g in 3 weeks. Today he is 4 weeks old. Time has flown by so quick and its been an amazing journey with him.
Joli I am sorry to hear about your car, its no joke. I remember when I got my dinky chico the petrol tank gave up and that cost an arm and a leg, I think it was r4 500 just for the tank never mind anything else like replacing it, but I got the company I bought the car from to pay for it as the car was less than a week old at the time. Also sorry to hear that you have to go back to work in May. Which reminds me that I kept telling my mom for the last 4 months not to worry about money because something would happen and we would get the money that we need. Yesterday my Aunt called and told us that she has managed to get a donation out of my late grans estate. So my mom has told me that there is no rush for me to go back to work or to look for a job at this stage. I will be going back to Table mountain when that call comes through. My mom will have enough money to get a speech therapist to come to our house to try get my dad to speak English instead of Japanese.. or at least that’s what it sounds like. LOL!!! And any other therapy that he needs. It was part of the deal of getting the money. My aunt told my mom that if he doesn’t get the therapy she wasn’t going to give my mom the money.
Lucy you are lucky to get the 5 hours sleep. I also get it from time to time and love it. It would have been great though if I had been able to sleep this morning cos Abdul slept from 730am right through to 1130am. He skipped his 9am booby.
Rakker I hope that you feel better soon, I was very ill right before I gave birth to Sulaiman and it wasn’t much fun.
Betty yes it did make things much easier for me by my now ex not arriving on Thursday, otherwise it would have been a long drawn out thing. Its just a bit sad that he didn’t just divorce me when he was here because in the muslim community’s eyes its better to be divorced than having the marriage annulled. In other words it better when it comes from the mans side, but what will be will be. Glad that you are sorting out all the stuff before baby arrives.
Misty I managed to see your photo’s off the computer and they really are beautiful. I am sad that I didn’t get to do mine because I went into labour earlier than I thought I would.
Emsmom good luck with the photo shoot, I am sure you will get some lovely photo’s.
Kimika its amazing how quick our boys grow, to think that they were born 2 years ago and now they are children. I am sorry to hear about the constipation. I had loads of problems with Sulaiman and constipation but he was on the wrong formula. The paed told me to give up breastfeeding at 4 weeks as he wasn’t picking up weight and it was a nightmare from there on.

Joli- sorry that it seems like you will have to go back to work in May, perhaps it will just be for a short while so that you can sort your finances out.
Thanks for the advice on new born clothing. I think Baby will weigh about 3.5 kg when born. So I probably won't need much. I know I can let her wear 0-3 months, but it is nice to have clothing to fit perfectly also.

Meags- glad the chiro is working for you. When I took Matthew as a baby they also used the gun clicky thing on him, amongst holding him upside down by his legs and massaging tummy. It must be bliss for you to be able to settle Matthieu in 10 minutes after having struggled for an hour or so before.

Emsmom- thanks, I hope the weather is over for now, I don't have any summer clothing for baby, except those verst type short baby grow things. Which as far as I remember I used to use as vests. It's amazing how much you forget in 3 years...

Kimika- wanted to let you know that I have had no leg cramps since I started the tissue salts. Amazing!
Reuben is a very strong boy not to be teary during the injections!
Shame on the constipation, poor baby. But it sounds like he was very happy afterwards!

AFM- had a very busy day, got Matthew's old clothing out, spent the whole day washing and sorting out cupboards. Still not finished that task. Also hung the curtains, using M's old green and white ones with friends bear and rabbit on them, so not really girly, but the room will look girly in the end. I have a pink boarder for room some pink pictures, Also the cot bedding and other odds and ends will be pink.

I bought a small cd player for baby room yesterday, our cd player runs via the tv - which is currently owned by big boy Matthew. When Matthew was a baby and I struggled to get him to sleep I used to play the baby sence lala cd to him. We never ever had to listen much past the first song and he would be asleep, worked like a charm... FX it has the same effect on this LG.

DH played his first hockey match of the season, I think he would like
M and I to go watch more often, but I am really not that into hockey or doing much at this late stage of being preggers.

Had a braai at my brothers house yesterday, the rugby was really bad... Hard luck stormers

Nothing planned for today. Except more washing and sorting for the nursery

Lucy, are your nipples any better yet? I dont know about the fact that formula extends a growth spurt.. What is a squint? Do you mean she is a bit cross eyed/"skeel" , if so its totally normal! Most newborns look asif they are a bit "skeel" Well done on Tessa getting her birth weight back! WEll done!! Ok the green poo.. I did quite a lot of reading up and it can be because of whatever you have eaten so really the color can range from green to yellow and even to orange and all is fine. Other thing can be that your baby is getting too much of the watery foremilk and is kinda "underfeeding" and hence the green color. So all I can suggest is make sure she empties the first boob right to the end. Water foremilk, then richer hindmilk and then the really last bit of extreme rich milk (pudding) If you do that and the color changes then you know it was that. I think mostly its nothing major and just a difference in diet and therefore the change in color.

Mistymom, Im not big on stocking meds.. Im one of those who run out at midnight because I have nothign ! But Calpol is great for pain and fever (strawberry taste much better than panado), and then you will prob get the saline nose drops and Telament while in hospt. I also bought the Bennets Colic stuff for a just in case but its still unopened That all I have, the other stuff I dont know about LOL at the fact that you and Betty met at they gynae's office! How did know or did you recognise from the fb photies? Dont worry too much about the engaging thing, not all babies do that beforehand.

Betty, Glad all is still well with you and baba! I used to breastfeed my oldest while he got jabs because he was such a sensitive little soul. But with Reuben its totally different, it would be more of a bother for him to feed while getting them anyway. I didnt even need to b/feed him afterwards because he was so brave

Joli, any news on the insurance? ouchie.. those jabs are expensive cant believe you always have such bad luck with things!! But great that Callum is smiling!! Isnt it the most lovely thing ever? Cant wait to meet him tomoz

Jessica, great to see you and Riley on Monday. He is such a cutie with his gorgeous lips!!! Sorry I couldnt stay long as my two boys were nearing the end of their awaketime! I must just tell you that other than Riley's cute lips, he smells the most devine newborn baby smell Ive ever smelt!!! LOL.. what products do you use?? Why does my babies never smell like that?? Please share your secret

Meags, glad to hear Matt is doing beter after his feeds. It must have been so tiring and stressful to see him so upset. I understand about the pumping.. eish man.. maybe get a good stock built up over the next 2wks or so and then stop. Maybe you will ahve to when your mom leaves. Then you can give him that and start introducing formula. I know fully how much you want to give him the breastmilk but nothing is worth the effort of getting yourself into a depro about. Formula is good too and maybe you will enjoy your formula feeds more than you do your current situation? As for teh pelvic floor excersises... do you mean the kegels? I remember for quite a good time after the birth you cant really *feel* those muscles working.. is that what you are experiencing now? I think its normal?

Faw, how are you doing?? Glad that things are being sorted out now.. bummer than you ahve to wait for 3 cycles.. but I just have to ask.. who checks???

Rakker, sorry bout the scare!! Sooo glad your baba still doing well. I remember feeling those convulsion like movements with Pieter too.. feels almost like a dog shaking itself.. very strange and very scary!

AFM: I had the most hectic week ever! Does it ever end?? After R's jabs on Tues he got really niggly in the pm, with a crying spell. Im not used to him crying so I felt so sad for him. Gave him calpol and he settled and then slept well. Then on Wed along with all the other stuff I had to get to he got very restless and niggly. Seemed asif I just couldnt get him settled and he kept moaning a doing bits of crying. And then by Thursday eve I notice he hadnt done a poop and he is soo windy and farts like milion times a day.!! Eventually today I couldnt stand it anymore and got him some glycerine suppositories from pharmacy. I know b/fed babies can go days without pooping but the farting and him being so niggly made me think he might be consitpated? Sr Bam did say he might be. So exactly 7mins after the supp he did the hugest poop ever! Shame So now must I then know that it was constipation???? Never had a constipated baby before!!?? But he seems better now after it, no more farting and he even smiled

Joli honey I am so sorry that things are not looking good atm, I really hope that all comes right for you soon. With Em I had bleeding (running down and soaking my legs in blood bleeding) from 12-26w. We then went into labour at 31w and they held it off, so even though my Dr was happy to give me a trial labour (I would have had 4 hours to deliver or they would c-section me) We were both so stressed by then we opted for the c-section, although I feel if perhaps we had known about hypnobirthing back then I would have given it a go. But still I've got my girls and thats all that matters.

Lucy, how are you doing? I think the nappies change also depending on what we eat. Kates have been so runny, cant wait for them to get solid.

Betty, I agree with Joli regarding the clothing, it does depend on the size of your LO, by Kate now is already fitting into 0-3m clothing. I thankfully had 1 or 2 summer outfits for this week-end, but I think this may be our last hot week-end. Because we are doing cloth nappies I do a load of washing everyday, so I'm fine with only having a few outfits for Kate.

Misty not long now for you! So exciting! Glad you are doing so well and that you are all ready for baby to arrive. I cant wait to see what you have I had also totally forgotten to get a baby brush, and had to get my mom to buy one for us the day we got home from hospital.

AFM, went to a ladies day today, which was nice. I took Kate, and DH took Em out. Then had friends come round, and grannies. Tomorrow my dad is back (been away for a week) so will def have to see him, he is seriously missing his granddaughters. And then have to do dinner with the in laws.
Kate has been feeding like MAD today, so I'm sure she is going through a little growth spurt. I have also discovered the joys of a beanbag! When she doesn't want me to let her go I put her in there and it still feels like she is being held and sleeps for ages.

Schatsie glad you are home and resting...I know you so wanted Arno with you by now - but remember each day inside means a better chance of him going home with you instead of being in NICU.

MistyMom - also cant believe you have been on ML for a week already time goes really quickly.

Screaming during labour - I was totally fine up to 7cm. Infact I only really believed it was truely labour once I arrived at the hospital (5cm) as then the back ache was getting stronger. So for the first 6 hours of my labour I was fine, no screaming. But the last 2 hours!!!! from 7-10cm!!!!! my goodness did I scream!! With each and every contraction. I didnt want pain relief and never asked for it. And after each contraction in my head I was thinking "ok really...dont scream for the next one...just breathe..." but it was uncontrollable and whether I liked it or not - I was screaming! So yes, I think as you reach delivery, the contractions intensify (for some). For me, the pushing was fine. I could actually use that pain for something! So not one noise out of me during the pushing. I just focused and pushed and rested in between contractions.

ok what is my news...
Had 2nd chiropractor appointment yesterday. I think it is working like a charm!!!! This little Matthieu of mine is so much easier to settle. Only takes about 10 minutes now whereas before it would take over an hour!! Sometimes he doesnt even cry much after a feed. So I am so happy He definitely still has his moments. Yesterday we went for lunch and he woke towards the end and there was no stopping him. He screamed hysterically until we got home. So much for the car calming them
seeing chiro again on Monday for the "report" where we discuss the rest of the treatment plan etc.
he is a very alternative chiro...doesnt believe in medicine or immunisations. doesnt manipulate the spine, just uses a 'gun clicky thing' that he clicks against the neck and thats it?! he has a machine to measure the degree of alignment of the main neck bone (atlas) and apparently if that is balanced, a person is healthy. (as in you can cure arthritis, haemorrhoids, pains, tummy problems etc etc etc) so ya...that's what he does!! I dont care if I'm not really spiritual etc - just as long as it works I am happy to keep paying him!
He wants me to stop the reflux meds...but I think I will finish this months supply and then see...he is also trying to talk me out of immunising which he wont succeed at.

pumping is so boring...I'm really over it. running out of space in the freezer for the milk now. I have increased his feeds from 60ml-80ml as he is hungry and crying for more after. So now he's happy. I measured him and he's grown 4cm already...you can see he is so much taller my little baby is growing fast already
