Hi Ladies
Well...Not much news really. Matt still screaming hysterically after feeds. 7pm and 10pm (more or less) are the worst feeds of the day. Usually for the 7pm one he doesnt even settle or sleep before the next feed. Just cries constantly.
Then the 10pm feed I spend an hour and a half getting him to settle after feeding. So I am only getting to bed around midnight

He then wakes around 3ish for a feed and again around 6ish. the 3am feed I try do alone (feed and pump) but it takes so long as my breasts are exceptionally engorged by then (my last pump before this one is usually at least 4-5 hours prior) and Matt is crying for food so I have to tend to him first. Again - this is atleast 1 hour so by the time I pump it's been 5-6 hours and my boobs are like rocks and I end up pumping around 250ml! Then by the 6am feed I am totally engorged again (still from the earlier pumping) so I take Matt to my mom and I pump. Then the day routine is pretty normal. I feed him as he wants (60ml every 2-3 hours) and I pump in between. It takes around 30 minutes to settle him after day feeds. Then we get about an hour and a half to shower or eat or whatever.
My mom has offered to do the 3am feed so I can pump as she says she is awake anyway since she can hear him crying. So that will be a big help. But the only thing is, she is saying I must let her sleep with him from midnight until his feed so that I can just wake to pump (whenever I feel the need) and then go to sleep without him disturbing me when he wakes to feed. So that is really helpful - but here comes the funny part...I dont want her to sleep with him!!!! I find that is something special for me and I dont want her having that

I also feel having him sleep with me is keeping up my milk supply (skin to skin contact). I dont know how to say that to my mom?! so I just said that I dont set an alarm to pump - I just pump when he wakes up so I can always just bring him to her. Am I being silly?? I just feel like it's the only thing I have left that "I" am good for since he wont breastfeed.
We went to the chiropractor today. Seeing him again on Friday and Monday so I hope it helps with the colic...those night feeds are driving me mad. Going to catch up on grey's anatomy during his screaming matches at 10pm...
I think I'm getting a bit funny with Matt. Like - at the chiro - my mom was holding him since he was crying and I was filling in the forms. Then I kind of expected her to give him to me when I was done and she didnt. Then she held him while the chiro chatted to us and also while he did the spinal adjustment...just felt like I should be the one doing that since I am the mommy...
On the other hand - there is no way I would be coping without my mom here. And I am dreading to think how I will cope when she leaves!!!! I am slowly starting to hate the pumping...it takes so much of the day...and everything has to be planned around it. cant go out for the afternoon unless there is somewhere for me to pump. I just get engorged so easily and quickly. I am kind of wanting to just stop the pumping and move to formula...although I really want him to get the breastmilk...sigh...
I have to do my driving writing and driving test on 6 May so I told DH he has to leave work for a couple of hours and come watch Matt. He is fine with that. He is taking the rest of his paternity leave from next weekend for 10 days so I am going to have to teach him all the tricks with Matt so that he copes on his own when I go for the driving test. I can see him getting quite frustrated if Matt has one of his hysterical fits...he can really scream like murder for an hour straight. (going totally red, stops breathing etc etc)
