Hi ladies
wow what a different day this has been to the last 10!
Last night was not too great...We went to bed before 11 and I set my alarm for 2am to pump as I dont like waiting for him to wake incase he sleeps for long then my boobs are so full. So I woke and pumped then back to bed. Then he woke around 3 which was unlucky for me since I'd only gotten back to sleep! I was so tired that I was frustrated to try settle him and started crying because I wanted him to just sleep immediately instead of spending 45-60 minutes to get him to sleep. anyway. I eventually put him in the sling and he fell asleep but then I didnt want to take him out incase it woke him. So I had to try sleep in a position with him in the sling!!!! Not comfortable at all and I could see he was not 100% settled. But anyway. Slept until about 5:30 then he woke to be fed (or he may have woken as I wanted to turn to the other side which was impossible the way he was lying). I also needed to pump by this stage. Luckily I just gave him over to my mom to feed and I pumped and then she said she'd keep him and I could go back to bed. HOORAY! I told her to bring him to me once he was settled as once he's asleep he likes to sleep against someone in the bed but she just kept him with her so I managed to sleep from about 6:30-9. Then the lactation consultant called which woke me (luckily cos it was feeding and pumping time!). She is not very impressed that I've stopped trying and didnt really want to advise me much on how to keep up my milk supply, when to increase his feeds etc. I told her I may try again once the reflux is settled.
anyway. so the 6am, 10am and 1pm feed have all gone very well today. He still screams after but we are managing to settle him within about 15 minutes instead of 1 hour. I think the reflux meds are working. at the 10am feed I just lay him next to me in bed afterwards and let him scream there and eventually he just slept. So at the 1pm feed I lay him on my chest and let him go all stiff and kick and scream but eventually after 10 minutes he settled. It took about 40 minutes for him to sleep - but at least he just lay on my chest quietly and I would just pat his bum when he was about to start screaming. Now he's lying on the couch asleep. I really pray things just get better and better from now. During his 10am sleep we managed to clean the house, sterilise all the bottles, EAT!! (something we often dont get to do!), have a shower, finally sort out all the things the hospital gave us (like cloths, forms, nappies etc). So yes, been a productive day! And now I have time for moomie!!
Anje - HATS OFF TO YOU! Gosh I cannot believe you are still going!!!!!! At least you know Friday is D Day. but man - I dunno how you do it. I know how you feel about the stretch marks. 1 week before Matt was born I got stretch marks on the inside of my knees?!?! and I started getting the pregnancy mask on my face (which still hasnt faded) and yes it's annoying to get those things just a few days before baby arrives!!!! How is your DH feeling? is he anxious??
MistyMom - those photos are divine. Wow you look radiant and gorgeous!! How is ML going? are you bored?

Cook some meals - trust me there is no time when baby is born for that kind of stuff!! I am so glad my mom is here. If she wasnt and I hadnt cooked, we would definitely be eating take aways every night. That is for sure. I love the picture of you and DH in the football shirts - you can make such a nice sequence of events with your scan photos he photoshopped and now the maternity pics! you'll have to get a newborn shirt for your newborn shoot

Definitely look into photographers ASAP. They are so booked up. Our photographer said the photos are best done in the first 10 days and like Joli said, they are all floppy and sleepy so its perfect.
Schatsie - oh dear about the BP! I totally understand you not wanting it to go down so that you can have your baby!! But on the other hand...you really do want it to go down so you have no complications for yourself or baby pre or post delivery. You have a mighty bog boy there!! Will be interesting to see his weight at birth to see how accurate the scans are

how are you enjoying ML?? have you cooked some meals????
Kimika we are still waiting for some photos and update!! hehe I know how babies make it difficult for moomie time...
Rakker - shame man...I really can relate with you and schatsie about being fed up. I was totally fed up by 38 weeks. (now I wish I could put him back inside!!) I can imagine it's annoying for you since the first one came early...now you're heading into territory you havent been to before (36 weeks plus!) and it just gets worse and worse every week

I really dont know how Anje is still plodding along!!
Joli I cannot believe those clients just wanted you to leave your car! I mean I understand they expected you to be there - but its not like you intentionally just didnt pitch!!!!!!!! And I cannot believe the cost for the car!!!!!!!!!!!!!! when will you hear back from your insurance if they will pay? Perhaps they will just tell you to rather take the money and get a new/second hand car? Sho - R61 000 is crazy...
I see on FB Callum is sleeping

I do know how you are feeling right now! Isnt it pure bliss???????????????
Cath - has Will had his 6 week injections yet? if not, when is he going? if so - how did it go?
Tazzy how is gym going?
Karin - how's Kiana?
Amy - you are having baby tomorrow!!!!!!!!! how are you feeling??? hope to hear from you
Faw - how are things?? How is Abdul at night now? How is your c-section scar feeling? Did that temperature just sort itself out?
Lucy - how is Tessa? is she still feeding like crazy or has that calmed down?
someone asked about my DH and how he is with Matt.
Shame...he is actually great. He always wants to change the nappies (whether its wee or poo) and he wants to put him into his pyjamas and give him his bottles. Yesterday I think he got very upset though as he fed Matt and was trying to settle him after the feed and Matt was screaming as usual. I asked him if he wants me to take him and he said no he can handle it. eventually after like 30 minutes we were still waiting (dinner was ready and waiting to be eaten) so DH put him in the bouncer and put the bouncer by the table to rock him. After like another 20 minutes he was still crying so I asked if he wants me to put him in the sling and he said "is it going to work?" so I said "it depends how long you leave him to cry and be hysterical". So then I took him and put him in the sling and within 5 minutes he was sleeping.
DH said "Matthieu still prefers you. He always calms down quicker when you take him". Shame he seemed so hurt!!!!! So I told him its the sling and my scent and that Matt smells me all day and night so its what he's use to and if the sling would fit DH - he would also be able to settle him quickly. Then he said "ya well its known boys prefer their moms but daughters prefer their dads". hehe. shame poor man. I think he really wants a daughter now so he can feel 'loved'.
I did tell him that if the second baby is like Matt, we are finishing there. no more kids. even if its another boy!
