Tazzy, that little girl face made me smile from ear to ear! Congrats on your perfect LG!

Kimika, as a child this cousin of my mom let me and some other children from the family taste her breast milk (out of a cup at least, but still ugh). I remember the taste of it reminding me of pumpkin :side:.

haha Kimika that is funny!! I am sure a lot of people actually do taste the breastmilk though - but many do not admit to it. Must say that I am curious!

BettyF - that sucks about your family and their opinions...family is so mean sometimes. My in laws LOVE bitching about the one cousin who is a midwife and is breastfeeding and the baby is not gaining weight well enough.

Faw - I would say as long as the home is decent, your dad will be better off there. It is a lot of pressure for your mom to look after him and it is exceptionally strenusous. I worked in an old age home and I did not like it :( It is really hard work, you have to lift 'dead weight' all the time, they are difficult patients because some of them are mentally not really there anymore and yes, often they are aggressive.
As for visiting rights....I think Kimika said a social worker...didnt understand the Afrikaans! But that is your best route for now. And yes, definitely under supervision if he does HAVE to see your son.

MistyMom - that is one huge baby you have there!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Goodness I really hope for your sake you dont go post dates otherwise you will be having a baby as big as Jessica!

AFM - I'm not doing well emotionally. I dunno if it's hormones, the move, the loneliness or what. But I am so scared I am going to get PND with the way I am feeling now. I already feel like I could do with some anti-depressants.
Last night DH sent the last sms around 10:30pm his time. Asking how my appointment was. I told him and never got a reply. (I was also waiting for a reply about if the company has deposited money for us yet). Anyway. 4AM his time he replied - but just said 'I'm going to bed now, i love you'. So I was thinking...what the hell...4am? What the hell has he been doing?
I kept asking and he wouldnt tell me? he just replied saying he needs to sleep now. I asked if he'd been out partying and he just said "I wasnt. Did measurements on the machine. I need to sleep now".
I feel like he's hiding something from me. It all just sound weird that he went to bed at 4am because as far as I know, they needed to be at the factory early this morning...

I know I keep complaining about him...and I'm sure you are all fed up of hearing about it. But I have no where else to talk about this. I cant mention it to my family as I think (1) they would tell me he is a hard worker and I should lay off him (2) they wouldnt really understand just how much I'm hurting.
I tried talking to a couple of close friends, but didnt get the support I needed. I just need to get my feelings out somewhere.
I feel terribly unhappy in the marriage. When I think about my life, i cant believe that 'this is it'. I'm honestly disappointed. I have a husband yet I have never felt more alone in my life. I feel so unloved, uncared for, disrespected and lonely.
I want to write him a letter - but knowing how stressed he is at work and that he's also suffering with depression - I feel like I cant and shouldnt be adding to that right now.

Aww man Tazzy, Amelia is GORGEOUS!!! All in her little pink outfit!! TOO cute!!

Which reminds me, I looked at my baby book the other day and thought I was a really ugly baby, so I just hope I don't think my LB is ugly when he's born! :) My dad says when he was born his mom said they must take him away because he's ugly and she doesn't want him! :) I'm sure I could only love my little angel after waiting for him for such a long time!!

Oh my.. Ive fallen behind, have 4 pages to read :)

Tazzy, wow, Congrats on the birth of your little girl!!!! So excited for our first little pink one!! Cant wait to see her face.. just wanna hold her.. we've been crowded with boys both here and in our family so Im extra broody for a girl!! And LOL at having contractions.. hehe..

Joli, Im totally with you on how addictive sleepfeeding is ;) I expressed a bit the other day just to relieve the pressure and easily got 40ml per boob.. so I think you will be surprised how much he drinks when breastfeeding! Reuben also drinks both sides in one go and there must be a lot of milk in them because they are very full after a 4hr sleep. I think he will stop if he is full, but they do drink faster from a bottle than from the breast.

Schatsie, not sure if its normal but yip.. gotten way more broody AFTER baby was born!

Cath, ag man... Will is sooo adorable!! Seems like we have a 3 up for darkhair boys.. all the tiny ones :) wow look at hubby.. smiling so broadly on all those pics! Glad he is doing perfectly after his little "op"

Lucy, thanks for the info on the breastmilk nosedrops :) So will your gynae give you your c-sec date on the 11th March?

Meags, ag no man.. lets just say not to worry.. maybe things will happen fast from here on? Just hop a lot (on your ball :) ) and also walk a lot!!! LOL on saying dont mention the epidural.. its a great idea.. I said I wanted to try without it and they never really offered, rather I would say they just assumed.. but I was soooo not going to argue with the idea :) Maybe if nothing has happened at your 38wk she can do a bit of a strech and sweep for you?? Or are you against having that done?

Betty, sorry your family is not supportive of your birth choice :( My parents also freaked on hearing about the induction (both times) .. sometimes they just need to know when not to voice their opinions!

Mistymom, glad all is going so well with your little baba!! Great weight already :)

Faw, Its a tough decision but the best one for your dad.. he will heal much better when not at home to argue with you guys.. then maybe if things are better he can come back. Re your son and the visits.. I think maybe phone a "maatskaplike werker" sorry Ive totally lost the english word :) And consult with her on what is best for visiting with his father.

Girls, just have to apologise, fallen behind on update the list on page 1.. will do so tonight!!

Before I run I just have to tell you the funniest thing :woohoo: My hubby is such a freak :) Last night I was relaxing in the bath, he was sitting next to bath like always and we were chatting. My milk suddenly started squirting out.. and he commented on how he wonders what it tastes like.. hehe.. so I said I heard its very sweet and kinda agree since its so sticky. He actually put his mouth in front of spray and tasted it!! LOL I was totally grossed out :) He says it tastes like watery condensed milk  Crazy man!!!

Faw - I don't know ... it depends if you want him to see your son.. and if your son would want to see him?? Also..is he really pressurising you to see his son or is it just another way to get to you and upset you?
If he's not putting real pressure on you and if your son doesn't really know or miss his father... then I would not let him see him.
It will just upset you and you don't need that now.
