Hi everybody! Hope all the babies (heck, do we still call them babies?) are doing well. Just a few recent pics. I just have to share, because that's what moms do  .

Getting on the step and playing with the toilet paper

(Don't know why getting pictures on a thread the way it should be is so difficult  . Rest to follow.)

Hi ladies

How have all the first birthdays been? Can't believe that a year ago I was checking moomie every other hour following the progress of births. Faw happy birthday to Abdul for yesterdayxxx. And a happy birthday to Kiana and Amelia xx

I have just gotten over Matthew and DH birthday, so thank goodness Sarah's birthday is still in 2 months time.

Sarah is doing so well and is such a lovely baby- she does moan some, but is happy as soon as you lift her or stop to chat and play with her. She is 10 months now - and a big girl, I packed away her 6 - 12 month clothing yesterday. So sad, she weighs 11.8 and is wearin age 1.5 clothing. So I don't buy for under age 2 now....so sad to have had to move out of woollies baby section...

We have 5 teeth now, bottom 2 and 3 at the top... No more gummy smiles. Crawling for about a month, starting to coast along the furniture - think she may walk before she is one. Matthew walked at 14 months, so before 1 is early for me.

Sarah is such a water baby. We go to swimming lessons once a week, she put her head in the water, no problem. Yesterday we spend the day on the Berg River, she loved it!

We have moved up a class at school and are now playing with the children who re over 1. When I took her to school to the baby room she started crying, the principal said its because she wants to be n with the toddlers, true as Bob, when I dropped her in the toddler class - no tears..

On Sat we went to a little boy from her class' party...so sweet they enjoyed playing together. Unfortunately the birthday boy fell asleep before we got a chance to sing, but we did enjoy the day.

Anyhow - time for shut eye- have a good week everyone. P.s I saw on the forum that Naartjie is opening an online store. If u pre register u get a voucher free.

Oh my goodness!!!! What a fabulous surprise, I had given up checking moomie, imagine having 2 pages to read, yippee.

Firstly hey to everyone, will do personals when I am on proper computer.

Quick Tessa update, she also was a late crawler about 10 and half months, but she crawls on her feet, not her knees. bizarre! She makes up for lack of athletic ability (lol) with verbal skills. She says hello and loves holding the tv remote to her ear whilst doing it (too cute) she says dye dye for bye bye when waving. She says no, um also vava for clever. She blows kisses with a big load mwah. Oh and loves copying haededas and dogs. Oh my goodness what a brag....sorry

Sorry I forgot to add that Abdul says yes a lot and says mommy if I ignore him long enough, but won't say mama. He hasn't been well the last couple of days, I think he is teething again. I couldn't put him down last night because he was so clingy and he refused to sleep, so I eventually gave him baby ponstan and then he went to sleep, he hasn't been sleeping much. He slept well last night, only woke up twice instead of 20. I cannot believe that he will be a year on the 10th of March.

I found out the other day that I could have forced the hospital to let me have my birth naturally, I just wasn't empowerd at the time and that my ceasar was not necessary even though I was in labour for 26 hours when they did it as baby wasn't in distress and I wasn't about to die. They told me that I had been in labour too long and it would be best to have the ceasar done, they didn't even ask me, just told me to sign some form and told me that if things went wrong I might need a historectomy. I so wish now that I could have told them to get lost. I know I cannot change what happened, only be wiser for the next time I go into labour.

I was dating someone between december and broke up just before valentines day. It just wasn't to be. I still miss him, but it would never work... he is the same star sign as my dad and it used to get firey between us. My dad and I still argue, I just don't understand him. He can see that I am very stressed out at the moment and keeps telling me to calm down, he doesn't say the words but I know what he is saying. When he angry with me he tells me in plain english to "shut up"... that I understand very well. LOL.

Chat soon.

HI!!

My granny died at the age of 93, so she also had a long life.

MissesMom I am doing the doula course through W.O.M.B.S. (there are others, including one in vredehoek) They have been around the longest and are currently trying to get Discovery Health to pay for doulas and make it a normal thing to happen, so that everyone who goes into labour gets a doula. I go to class once a month out in Somerset West (a trek I tell you) and it starts at 9am and ends at 4pm. Then you go home and read and study a MOUNTAINFUL of pages. I had my first class and I have about 400 pages to read by the time I go back for my second class. I already have a trainee uniform and will start observing from the end of this month. I have to witness a lot of births in variuos places and I am so glad that some of them are nearby where I live. I also have to go on a breastfeeding course. Its loads of work, but so much fun. And I am SOOOO excited.

Meags you talking about weight. I have been so stressed out and sick the last month that I lost 6kgs... I weighed 44kg 2 weeks ago. In the last two weeks I have been forcing myself to eat and so far I have picked up 3kg. I had bronchitus that never cleared properly and then I was ok for a few days and now I am sick all over again. I am taking vitamins and pretending they are anti biotics for now and see if that helps.

I am still pumping milk 3 times a day and breastfeeding at night. I think that this is adding to my bad health. :(

My mom has been away since friday last week so I am running around like a headless chicken. I am also busy organising a joint birthday party for Sulaiman and Abdul, its a nightmare cos I have 2 themes. I was thinking of using a party company but think its crazy to be charged R1180 for 10 children and that is just decor and plates, cups and servietes.... I cannot afford that. So I have asked a friend to make a Thomas the train cake and cupcakes with spiderman and thomas on them. I still have to go looking for everything else. I think woolworths might have spiderman sweets etc. I will combine their birthday parties until they complain but def not doign two themes. Sulaiman will have a party at school as well next month. That is already sorted out.

I was told the other day that they will be keeping me on as my contract at work ends in 2 weeks, I am just not sure of its another 3 month contract or as permanent. If its permanent then I will get a 25% increase, so here is hoping!!!

Hi girls

Ok dont let the group die down again!!! Keep it going!!!

I dont know how many teeth Matt has now. I think 9 or 10. He has the bottom front 2 and then it seems 2 of the back molars next to each other on one side. Then at the top he has the front 4 and a molar on either side at the back.
I think another bottom front one is coming. Jeez they just dont stop now!

He has slept through 1 night so far since we've been back

Sooo..........my EXTREMELLY exciting news is that I found a nanny :woohoo: I am beyond excited!!!!

He will go to her house on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8am-1pm. She has a cot, pram, highchair, toys etc as she has a 13 month old grandson who sometimes sleeps over on weekends. She just adores Matt and she was on the floor playing with him and singing to him even though she is 57 years old. I really have a great feeling about her and also, she is walking distance away!! maybe like a 10 minute walk so that is great!!!

I stood on the scale on Sunday and got the fright of my life. 71.4kg. Monday morning was better at 70.55kg. But shit I mean I got down to 64.8kg and now I just piled all that back on and more

So yet again...I try to lose it. However this time I am not cutting out anything. I am just making sure I eat 3 meals a day (healthy ones) and only snack on fruit and nuts. beforehand I was eating cake and cookies for breakfast, snacks and lunch and macdonalds so no wonder the weight piled on. I am also walking with Matthieu every afternoon so I hope that does something!
