Hi girls

It's been another month since I've been on the site. BBM really killed the chat here, but at least most of us are still in contact via BBM.

Meags, the pic of Matt on the beach is TOO cute!! He really is such a handsome little boy!

Arno is doing well, walking and running really fast now! He had a cold with me the last few days and I think it affected his ears, cause he kept on falling over, like his balance was out.

At least he doesn't climb quite as well as Shannon's Ryan! My nerves would be shod if my child had to climb on everything like that!! Luckily he only climbs onto the beds and couches, but I taught him to climb off and he does it really well now, without too many falls.

So Shannon, DH is back today if I remember correctly? You must be SO happy to have him home again! Good luck with the TTC.

Luckily my DH isn't going to Durban anymore next week. I was getting panicked about that since Arno screamed for an hour one evening last week, between the time the nanny left and DH came home! He is always difficult during that time because he doesn't take an afternoon nap and is very tired by then and gets upset when the nanny leaves, but that was the extreme! I was beside myself with stress and worry - none of the medicine helped and I nearly took him to the ER!

But such is motherhood - like one of you, I think Cornel, posted this week - a mother is only as happy as her unhappiest child. SO true! Thank goodness I only have one.

Hi ladies, just popping in to say hi and happy bday to all the babies that turned one recently and congrats mommies !!

Looking back at the past 13 months I cannot believe I was so unbelievably unprepared for a newborn, but I just love L to bits. She has changed our lives completely !! This stage is so much fun. She walks now and loves to copy us and I just love the giggles.

Hope you and your babies are all well. We are not looking forward to the winter.

Tazzy - I finally realized that something more than teething was up. I started a process of elimination, starting with chiro to check if her neck and back were out. Then she got sick with high temp and continuous screaming....so off to doc and he saw her ears were bad. We have tried everything to get them right 2 courses antibiotics and 3 of cortisone. I just knew something was still off and decided to go to the paed. So it looks like it has been long standing and just flared up. I suspected ears back in September and took her to the GP who said nothing was wrong, so I felt like a kippy and didn't follow up. I am super mad with myself as things probably wouldn't be so serious now. But I can't change things and need to move forward.
Another lesson in trusting the mommy instinct!

Poor Tessa bear, and poor you! 8-20 times a night??! I really shouldnt be complaining about my 5 or so wake ups a night. How did you know to think it was her ears? Did she have z temp or anything. Àmelia was sleeping through so nicely until we came back from ct. Now she waking up crying all through the night. I know she is teething now, but surely if igive her some Nurofen she should sleep better. *sigh
