Anje, dont listen to her, Kates tummy also rumbles, even if she's just ben fed! Its called digesting food! Tell your boss that

Claire, I work from home, so will be here with the nanny, I just need someone to look after Kate when I am working. I think it will work well.

Betty, sorry to hear about M being sick, its really not nice, esp when you have to keep S away from him. Are you sure you need to top up? Maybe try express first and see how much milk you get in a feed and give S a bottle and see how much she takes? I think the moment you start intorducing formula your milk supply will decrease.

Lucy, the protect the bum a bit more from the chemicals. I put 2 liners folded in half in the nappy.

So yesterday we had Em's fun day, was sweet, I dont honestly think we made any money - cause Em was also buying things and doing things, but was nice for her.
Then got home and I sat and made her birthday invites and DH made homemade mayo for us, and then a batch of baby meringues for Em's cake sale today.
Got 1 nanny coming for an interview today and then 6 tomorrow. But DH is taking the day off work so he can be with.

Oh Meags. I am so glad that you are coming home for a bit. I hope that M will be sorted and settled by then. Hugs to you.

Missesmom - finally I get it, duh! Sorry. Does the liner in a disposable help the skin a bit?

Claire, thanks so much for the 6 inches advice. We were on about 4. She seems to slide if we put it higher. I did the diary for 4 days. Seeing the midwife tomorrow arvie and she'll recommend paed or not. Glad R was such a champ with his jabs.

Cath thanks so much for the back to work encouragement. I am sure I will suffer more than Tessa! Flying, wow, well done. Glad you had such a good time and also that W is back in his routine!

Anje ignore the silly maid. V/p tummy rumbles all the time, especially if she has wind!

Betty don't lose hope about the car. We had same battle and it lasted about 4 weeks. So frustrating so I really hope S also comes right.

Hi ladies

Still got M home sick from school. he is much better, but not good Enough to go to school, especially while mom is home.

Took S for her 6 week check up. She weighs 4.5 kg. She is on the 50th centile. She was born on the 75 th centile and her head circumference is on the 75th centile. The paed said she is
Probably screaming in the afternoons because she is hungry. She suggested a top up feed.

Do any of the breastfeeding ladies top up? Do you advise it? I guess it will result in decrease of my milk?

Lucy- thanks for picking out your favorite photos. We get to choose 25 of the pics. If we want more than that it is R65 a portrait or R500 for the additional 15 pics.
Well done on the holiday. S still hates the car and screams whenever we go out.

Missesmom- how special that you have a christening gown made by your MIL from your wedding gown.

Meags- hope all goes well over the next couple of days and M gets some milk in.

Anje -hello for that domestic ..don't be too concerned about what she says, but good to get peace of mind with a weigh at clinic.

Claire - great weight. Are you using sleep sence routine? We have no routine at present.

Shame man anje! How did your nanny get to speak to your boss!?

Claire lovely about Rowan! Re William he only started sleeping through (from 8/9pm til 5/6am) from the day before my birthday (3 June) then was waking up past 3 nights, but back to sleeping through now so am very grateful! He is 4 months old and funnily enough everyone i know's kids were sleeping through (some at 6 weeks!!) by then so I didn't realise we were so lucky!!! It is WONDERFUL though!!!!

Meags - Shoo hunny I am glad you went to psych - not so bad and never feel like a bad mother - PND is nothing to sneeze at. did you get meds? they say its takes 10 days to feel a difference if you did get. When you are here in July we will chat more just know I think of you and Matt constantly and really hope the specialist has Matt on the right meds and he gets better and by 7 months or so he out grows this bleh reflux. I really feel you on the reflux and really know that pulling your hair out would be easier at times!

Anje - jeez how rude! I don't think you should have any concerns - you know your baby best. argh people and their big mouths. I wanted to say sleepsense sells these sleep sacs if you are still looking, I know R hated being swaddled initially but he is so used to it now. you only need to swaddle until about 4 months anyway unless baba loves it.

Cath - you are so lucky that W sleeps through every night, in fact it is quite rare so I am a little jealous

Lucy - so glad your bush baby enjoyed going where she was conceived how is the diary going for the suspected silent reflux? how are you mommy?

Missesmom - wow you are a super mom - 50 cupcakes! how is the nanny hunting going- will you get a nanny camera or am I sounding paranoid lol? Rowan sleeps but I do not expect a full nights rest - standby is over for 4 weeks so its all good

Betty - love the photos - Sarah is too gorgeous for words!

So yesterday took mister for the 8 week vaccinations, shame he was so brave and the nurse was so nice about Rowan. He is now 4.72kg and 58cms so we are right on track. finally have solid routines going which work too. do any of you ladies do the sleep sense routines?

Missesmom, tx, I will have a look at pep as well. Hehe, L also sleeps with arms either up above her or wide open next to her. Ag cute, I am sure Em will love the funfair. Enjoy making those cupcakes.

Hi Meags, wow my heart goes out to you. It is so difficult in a country without family. Poor Mat, I do hope that find the solution one of these days. I think the psychologist is right, I am sure one of the expats will be willing to help out, it can be very exhausting to do it all by yourself and a little me time helps a lot.

Cath, shame good luck with the teething if it is teething.

AFM: I was so upset this morning, at first it didn’t bother me, but later I got really emotional for some unknown reason. Yesterday just before I went home, the domestic lady here offered to hold L while I pack up - she just woke from her nap – my boss told me this morning that the domestic lady heard a sound in her tummy and she thinks that L is not sleeping that well during the day because she is hungry (meaning my milk is not good enough anymore). 1stly, she just woke up, she will be hungry and 2ndly she has never slept well during the day, but she usually sleeps well at night. Who is she to tell my boss I am not feeding my child properly. But just in case I will go weigh her at the clinic and I have an follow up appointment with the pead on the 7th and I’ll ask him as well.

Lucy well done!!!!!! We were also away for our first holiday (we went to dullstroom when W was 4 weeks old and that was ok) but this was a proper 8 days away in cape town - we flew!!! He was wonderful didn't cry once! Well done on Tessa!!! Agh, you'll be fine going back to work. It does help if your work is slightly flexible i.e. this morning I was a bit late (my boss doesn't love it but she was ok) cause William is I think teething and was crying and I wanted to help the nanny get him settled I wasn't prepared to just leave the house with him crying! Not serious, took a few mins and I left him happy and I was happy! He slept thruogh last night (thank you!) we went back to feeding every 3 hours. He is the cutest little munchkin. I tell you ladies what esp first time moms the NICE thing about working is that at the end of the workday instead of feeling flat/tired/exhausted which I often felt, I now am like totally ENERGISED and EXCITED with a spring in my step as I know I'm giong home to my little boy! So that's actually nice it's like having a SECOND day in a day! Lucy how will you do daycare when you go back? Oh and Lucy the boot!!! OMG William had a whole suitcase to himself! And EVERYTHING was used!!
