Hi ladies
not even going to attempt personals as its been too long although I read from my phone to keep up with all the news.
just a quick update on me:
thursday evening Matthieu went from drinking 60mls to 30mls and wouldnt take it more than 4 hourly. so off I went to the paed the next day as he was sleeping ALOT and I wasnt sure if his blood sugar was low or what.
He told me to put him on rehydrate until my appointment with the specialist on monday and keep offering milk and give him an extra half tablet of reflux meds in the evening.
well the whole weekend he wouldnt drink the rehydrate and hardly any milk but any the who we made it to monday.
saw the specialist and he says its difficulto to rule out milk allergy as he only as a couple of the symptoms yet not the major ones, but that allergy tests are not that reliable in such small babies...he thinks the major problem is the reflux so now he's on a full tablet in the morning and half tablet at night and using gaviscon type stuff between those other meds. also using corn syrup in 2 bottles a day to help with the constipation.
he says after 7-10 days if there is no improvement I must move onto a formula that contains no dairy or soy as if it is a milk allergy, it's likely he'll develop an allergy to soy too. so he has given me 5 tins of this "special" formula and doesnt even know where I can buy more but told me to call the toll free number on the tin to find out!!!! so basically I need to take the soy formula with overseas PLUS the 5 tins of this special formula incase he needs it. what a pain...like I dont have enough to bring.
today I saw the psychologist. she was really nice and funny. she says I need to become selfish and get more "me" time which is difficult since I dont have family here to take matt. she is saying if DH is offering a nanny I have to take it. or go to a gym where they have child minders. she says I need a couple of hours away from matt to "find" myself again. so I guess I'll tackle that when I get back. I left Matt with one of the expat wives. I had fed him and put him to sleep before I went to the psych. well 2 hours later when I arrived back he was still sleeping!!! typical...
tomorrow I have to take the cat back to the vet for his second leukemia jab and to evaluate his "allergy" which is looking better. Then I have to have a follow up at the doctor who prescribed me the anti depressants. they are definitely working. I feel a lot less stressed and dont shout at matt anymore but they make me exceptionally tired all day long which is difficult.
Thursday I need to pack and then coffee with the expats. Friday we fly to france.
luckily matt is sleeping quite well these days with the white noise on (thanks claire!!) and actually the sound is similar to the sound inside the airoplane so in fact he should sleep soon after we take off and may not even wake for a feed before landing!! if he does wake it will just be a 20 minute feed and nappy change and back to sleep. then he should sleep another 3-4 hours. I am dreading the 4 hour train journey after the flight as Matt will be awake most of it and he'll obviously need to be on our laps and there isnt a lot of space to walk around.
very excited to be getting away from here. things are getting boring. my house is totally out of control. I dont even know when I last made the bed or cleaned the house. I know that is disgusting but I just feel so "lost" and like I cant manage everything at the moment with trying to get everything ready to travel, keep laundry up to date, bottles clean (I am now on a new teat and only have 2 so its constant washing and sterilising....) so need to buy more of those before leaving. The cats are always under my feet, Matthieu is crying 10 times more than before during feeds and really sounds like he is in a lot of pain. I dont understand since I increased the meds he seems worse and particularly after giving the gaviscon?! sigh...
DH's mom has arranged for us to have the allergy test done in france. I dont care if they say its unreliable here....thats nonsense. how come every other country can tell you if your baby is lactose intolerant or not?!
yesterday I also met the girl who's daughter has spinal muscular atrophy. man my heart is SO sore for her. I have made a thread about donating milk to her so if anyone is interested please visit the thread under the ladies section. I am still trying to work out logisitics to see if its possible but since Faw said the milk banks there receive milk from here...there must be a way...just need to find out from the post office if its allowed to bring in milk as Joli brought up on that thread.
ok I need to go clean

so over it.
