Cath, you are right on track with paed visits. I only did the 6 week one. But booked because I was worried about continuous posseting. I made a eating diary and when she vomited for 4 days then took it to the paed. Tessa just happened to get sick before as well so thought get her advice whilst there! Our paed really is lovely, inspires confidence in my mommy skills. I am sorry you had such a bad experience. If you tell me what area you live in I can recommend a good paed. We work in that field and I can ask my jozi colleague! For your 6 month visit!

My cold is now firmly on my chest! Fun! Hope I don't re infect my little sausage. She is now on losec for reflux and iliadin and breast milk up her nose. She hates it! Was hoping to stop the more thing but paed said I was on right track.
Oh to make matters worse, I had to drop next feed yesterday so I am so engorged. Hope it settles soon, had to keep expressing a little to relieve the pressure. I swear dolly parton has nothing on me.

shame man lucy sounds awful but thank goodness you have an appt with paed! I've only been once at the 8 week appt - where she totally misdiagnosed WIlliam (I never liked her manner anyway) with a HEART CONDIION which didn't exist and haven't been back since. he was fine then and is 4 months now have I missed something? He is going for his vaccinations but that's it. Is there something he needs to do with the paed or is that only at 6months? He is such a happy, sweet, lovely little boy! I can't even begin to explain!!! I am travelilng overseas for this week (YAWN!) and I phoned home now and 'spoke' to WIlliam - he shouted out and apparently gave a BIG SMILE! what a cutie!!!! missing him and my dh TERRIBLY!!!!!!! william is getting so big and really interacting soo nicely - grabbing tightly onto things, battnig things, shouting out loudly and laughing and smiling to himself and at us. he is an utter joy!He is getting baptised/christened on sunday - anyone else got a christening coming up? it's the day after i get from boston hope i'm not majorly jetlagged!!! weight loss non existent very upsetting but I've done NOTHING to lose weight really must come right!!

Well I found a nanny, well more n Au Pair, cause she will be driving as well if need be and fetching Em etc. She starts on friday.
Dh's application to the Australian Compute Society was finally accepted!! So we have been given the go ahead to apply for a state sponsered visa! We're not telling any of our friends just yet, cause obviously they dont want us to move. But if all goes well we should be able to fly back with my sister after her wedding!
Otherwise all is going well this side, my boss had her baby on Monday, and I went to visit Friday, she is SO tiny - was 4kg at birth, so bigger than Kate was, but still so small when I compair her to my heffalump!

Quick selfish post as I have flu and not feeling top of the pops!
Got paed appointment at 10am for the reflux. Tessa also all snotty so hopefully she can tell me what to do about that. Breast milk is just not cutting it any more and I can't handle her shrieks when I do it. She choked on friday night, man I have been a wreck making sure she is breathing!

Hi girls.
My dad has improved a lot. I don't know when he is coming home as of yet.
Flu is much better and we had a very nice easy going weekend.
My aunt and uncle arrived from australia today. My aunt is the top midwife in australia and it was awesome to speak to her today. She has taught me so much. I learnt that sulaiman had silent reflux when he was little. I didn't know what was wrong at the time and the paed couldn't tell me. I was clever enough to figure out that it was best for him to sleep upright. But didn't give him any medication for it cos i didn't know what his problem was. As a result of the reflux he associates food with pain. This is why he weighs so little and doesn't eat much. She is going to send me a recipe book on food to cook to fatten him up. I feel so bad though that i didn't know what was wrong. Its also why i said to meags sulaiman was the same. So meags you not alone on the silent reflux, constipation etc etc. I have been there.
She also told me that they in oz are telling ppl not to sterilize baby bottles any more and to just wash in hot soapy water.. So missesmom you have the right idea.
Another thing she said is that abdul hakeem is nice and big for his age and im doing a great job with him.
If anyone wants the recipes when i get them..late next month as they on a nice long holiday here..ill send them to you, or create a chat and put them there.
I am so glad my aunt is around, but a pity she wasn't around when sulaiman was around because she would have picked up sulaiman's problem at the begining and i could have stopped his suffering. At least now ill be able to fix his eating habits.

Oh yes DH thinks I am insane because I spent over R100 on a cd with white noise

Got the tommee tippy bottles. Still have all m's nuk bottles, but thought I should rather get Sarah her own.
She has started sucking on the Mam dummy, but she still prefers her human dummy

Got a smile and gurgle from S yesterday, was so cute
