Meags, how is Bling doing? Any improvement on his skin? I hope he's going to be ok. Yay on finally doing the deed again! At first I would also not do it with Em in the room, but then we lived with DH's parents for like 6 months and Em shared a room with us... so we would do it on the floor. I just kept telling myself "this is how she was made, there is nothing wrong with it"

Joli I would have had heart failure! I still recall having a dream about Em running into the road when she was just learning to crawl, just the dream still gives my cold shivers, so you must have been terrified!
Good luck with the twin photo shoot! Cant wait to see some of the pics!

Betty, I would have done the same if Em ran from me, they dont understand why we get so scared, but its for their own good. Enjoy the baby gym! Kate loved hers!

Misty I'm glad R did not cry to much. So are so much braver than me, I still make my mom take Kate to have her shots cause I actually need to throw up if I see my children get hurt.

Claire, its lovely when they start interacting with you, and you kinda feel all your talking is worth something cause they seem to be listening.

Kimika I also dont do midnight changes, it wakes her up too much! thankfully she doesn't poop at night.

Well AFM, life goes on as usual. I'm managed to calm down a bit lately, but still seem so busy. Went to hermanus on Sunday to have breakfast with my gran, she is getting so old, but wont slow down! And actually had a mini stroke on Sat trying to arrange a charity event! I told her I wasn't old enough to lose my gran so she'd better slow it down.
Kate is still an angel! Sleeps so well at night, we only have 1 wake up between 8pm and 6am (when i have to wake her up to get ready to take Em to school) She smiles everytime she wakes up, and is so alert! I love her to bits! If I could be guarenteed more like her I would never stop having children!
I cant believe Em is turning 5 in 6 weeks time! Trying to figure out what happened! When did I become a mom to a 5 year old!
She seems to be settled a bit more now, and we have no more tears at school - which is good cause I need to put her back in aftercare from next term, and find a nanny for Kate, as she gets more alert and needs more attention I want someone to be able to give her that - When i'm working I feel I'm neglecting my kids, but I need to work to afford them. But at least I'll still be at home with Kate, so still see her and play with her as often as I can.

Shame Joli- know how you feel, a similar thing happened to me a week or so ago. Took M to the park, he on his bike and I had S in the pram.

He knows he needs to ride next to me. But on the way back he went off on his own, crossed the road and went ahead home, with me running and screaming after him like a crazy lady. When I got home, he was so pround of himself for getting home alone...
But of course I was mad as hell. Punishment, no tv and corner... Has not done it again. Let's hope he never does. It was really scary

On another note - Last night when I put him to bed. He told me his Teddy is crying. I asked him what is wrong with Teddy. He replied that Teddy needs milky. He pulled up his top and put Teddy to the boob

Claire, Lucy and Mistymom- lovey pics. All the babies are growing so nicely.

Have made enquiries to take S to baby gym. There is a cession starting next week. The lady said that 6 weeks is the ideal time to take baby. S is 6 weeks on Friday. So I think I will take her.

Anyhow I get to do morning school rush as DH gone to EL today

Goodness Joli. I got chills reading your post. Your heart must have stopped. It blows my mind at how quickly things can happen. I am very glad all ended well.

Rakker- I believe there is some recent research (but I haven't had time to check it out) that shows giving panado after the jab if the temp is below 38.5 may interfere with the efficacy. But no problem if there is a proper temp. So shouldn't be a problem. Giving panado before for same reason too is not recommended.

Claire so glad it is getting better with R. I am finding each week more rewarding as she gets more alert and starts doing more and more. She is in a copying stage now and thinks she is so clever so she laughs at herself. Too cute. The recognition of me is also so obvious now, heart melting!

Misty, well done on one hand typing. Have you tried it leftie yet? Ha ha. You are very brave lady taking being home alone in your stride.

Meags I bay've seem to see your hand sucking video on fb. Grrrs! M is too cute with his laughs, if is growing so well. I am very pleased you are getting your pnd seen to. You'll come right in no time and enjoy M even more. Good luck

Well I only got Callum down now - after 2 x 2.5ml panado. He had his jabs just before 2 and he only fell asleep now - 20h20! He was crying and moaning and more crying . He really does not take his jabs well - at least the next one is only in November.

I wanted to tell you girls - last week I walked down the road with the kids (my friend has moved in a couple of houses down the road). I had Callum in the pram and the girls were walking. Megan is 3 1/2 so we walked and the girls always run until they get to the next street and then wait for me to get there and then we will all cross the road together. On our way back, just as we got home, we crossed the road and we were now 1 house away from our house, me walking with the pram in the road as I can't go onto the pavement with it (pavement is full of stuff) and the next moment Megan decided to ran across the road away from us! As she ran, I left the pram and screamed at her and then looked up just to see a lady slamming on brakes!!! If that womam was going any faster Megan would have been bumped and if a car came from the other side, Callum would have been bumped!! She has never done anything like this before so it really was not expected.

Claire - no i used nothing. spoke 2 the sister who said panado can make the injections inefective...(sounds wrong to me) but he was fine... a little cry for about 15 seconds. in fact i was the only one with tears! what i think helped is i had him on my lap...was feeding him, stopped, injected, then fed him straight away again.

re feeding - we are still on bottels. suits me fine as dad can help with night feeds on weekend etc. he has a small cleft at the back of his pallet which is causing a negetive vacum...so that is y he struggels on breast. i have tried again, but no joy. he is having an op at 6 months to sort the problem. sorry no caps - busy pumping so this is a one hand job!

joli - shame...poor little guy! maybe i was lucky that r hardly cried.

Meags - video too cute! R is starting to smile but cant wait for the laughs!! R has cried in his sleep a few times, but does not wake, just a cry! Glad you seen a doc for the pnd! Sure some meds will snap u right

Hi all. Shame Callum went for his 3rd injections today . Cried so much - my poor baby. He now weighs 5.38kg and still growing nicely on his curve. She says not to feed him yet and that I should not worry about the poo issue - it's normal in some bf babies and only if he is pushing and nothing happens I should be concerned. This lady at Linkwood Clinic is really nice - took Megan there as well and should have just gone there with Callum from the beginning as well. She says that the panado fact is not proven - just like the rotavirus etc. etc. and that Panado afterwards will not affect the vaccine. Callum gets very fevery so I do give him Panado.

Meags - that video is so sweet hey. Good luck with the PND . Yip I agree no BD when baby is around. Does not feel right. We don't get to do it often honestly. I think maybe 3 times since Callum's been born :-O! So we actually spoke about it last night and said that maybe we should schedule it!!

Claire - your boy is so cute!

Lucy - you've got a real princess on your hands - she is just too cute for words.

Girls I am sooooooooo excited - I am getting newborn (well they are 7 weeks old already, but were born at 33 weeks) this coming Sunday! OK I am stressing cause I've got no idea how I am gonna pose them - so I am dreaming about posing them at night - crazy hey! But I am excited - will be my first set of triplets . Can't wait.

So I heard from various people that feeding babies 3 hourly will help to take in enough milk and then sleep better at night. So I decided to try that (about 10 days ago) and things went from bad to worse. I only realised this last night...so today we are back to 4 hourly feeds to see if there is any change. He was NOT happy to wait 4 hours - but I suppose his tummy will adjust soon enough. Plus, he seems to drink a lot better if I make him wait. Last night he had that 200ml after I made him wait 3 hours 45 minutes and this morning he had 160ml after waiting 4 hours. So perhaps this is the trick to getting him to drink a full bottle?! We'll see over the next few days.
Unfortunately that 200ml last night did not stretch him at all He woke at 12:30 as usual. asleep by 1:15. then woke at 3:15 so I had to rock him to sleep. Then woke at 5 (so he managed 4 hours between feeds). Then asleep 5:40 and awake 6:30 (but i am SURE DH accidently woke him when he went to look at him before going to work....although he completely denies it!!!)

Claire when Rowan wakes during the night do you just put on the white noise and he sleeps?
Matt is very easy to settle. I just rock him for like 2 minutes and he is asleep...I just find it a pain that he's waking because it is taking me AGES to fall back asleep at night (like 45 minutes each time) and then suddenly he's awake again and I've hardly slept!
I am also finding I cannot sleep deeply at all after midnight (when he wakes so often). I am constantly in a dream state and my mind cant switch off. The only decent sleep I get is before midnight. so if I could just get him to rather wake around 2 instead of 12, I would actually feel a lot better!
