Meags - that bottle looks really fancy! How much is it? Sure no matter what it costs it is worth the money it will save you in time and effet. Sure the cats are not missing anything in their diet...they must just love all the gekos all of a sudden and its just in their nature, thankfully have not had a bird as a gift in a while! The last time was blood on teh carpet and got the carpet cleaners in as each time i saw teh stain i just pictured the dead bird...at least you get gekos!

Faw - fustrating hat you have to wait until the end of June! Had to laugh when you wrote you drink half a litter of tea! Pictured you with a HUGE tea cup Nice that Sulli will be going to socialise a bit soon.

Kimika - they are the "fat" jeans, but it did gove me a huge boost...still have 10kg to go to be at pre preg weight!

Schatsie – yay that you can start wearing the 0-3kg clothing! R only had 2 newborn outfits and they really lasted about 2 weeks. He has been in his 0-3 from birth (then again was a big boy at 4.3kg. I have already found myself starting tobuy 3-6 month (cant help myself) and going through all the clothes I already have for him and cant wait to unpack the next size up! I am already bored of his 0-3 months clothes and we have some lovely little outfits coming up in 3-6 months. I also found a naartjie voucher when I was sorting his draws the other day where I get R100 off if I spend R300 so will treat him to something nice (think I got it in my hospital goodybag). Nice to hear the nanny is working out great. I have got a contract fro our which DH got from work so if you pop me a PM with your email post it hear I will send it to you if you still want! Arno looks so sweet in the photo!

Rakker – yay on the smiles and coos! I just love them 

Joli – intresting about the hands and smacking. Makes sense…glad DOrcus cleaning a bit better. Maybe a “refresher” list for her on her chores/jobs etc? you can put on fridge.

Betty - I am also puttig R down in cot for day sleeps...workingg well (see below). Sounds like you have everything under control. Must be hard with a new born and anouther child. Dont know how i would have done the first month with anouther child (but will hopefully find out in about 2 years time). Happy anniversary! DH gave me the wedding album fro our 1 year anniversary as I had not got around to doing it!

Cath – sounds like you are in heaven with your little man!

AFM: Bought a babysense sling...best thing i have done since R was born! Whenever he starts to get niggly I put him in it and i swear within 2 minutes he is passed out! WE have a chicco kangaroo sling which is great for walking outdoors but the babysense one just works so well at home. Can do all housework in it and its true what it says on the box...he does sleep better at nighttime in his cot! (although could also be a conincidence). R also gave me his first proper smile last week! It was such a lovely moment. He looked at me and his whole face just lite up...was a great feeling as for the first time felt like we were proper communicating. SO yay no more "fake" wind smiles!

At the 6 week clinic check up he weighed 4.980… just shy if 5kg (which I was hoping we would get over!) Had his 6 week vacs and I was so surprised at how little he cried. Just a scream less than 30secs…think I had more tears in my eyes! Then the next day he was so so chilled…I was shocked as was waiting fro him to be niggly. But boy oh boy it came on day 3! I only managed to sleep between 2.30 – 5am last night. He was up all night…just could not settle him. Luckily DH looked after him today and I slept basically all day, except to wake up and pump. He is much better today.

He is growing so fast! When he wakes in his cot now he does not scream straight away….beginning to “occupy” himself! His little hands are also doing a lot of exploring and I just love watching him. I have had him in our bed a few times when he wakes up for his night feed and I let him sleep with us till the next feed but that is just me been a little lazy! Very glad he has been in his cot from day 1.

Thanks Tazzy. .. does make me feel a bit better to think maybe its age related? He was mUCH better tonight.. I fed him one breast before bathtime and he was his usual cute self. And then for bedtime he put up a bit of a crying fight.. so I put in his dummy and put off the light and then just patted him a bit to calm him. I then removed dummy and he latched immediately. He woke up a bit later and then he drank again! Even did his usual dummy on me for a while as he fell asleep.. strange.. hope he is over it now.. just before Im completely upset!

R's times are exactly the same as Amelia's.. except that he is a hour or so behind.. he will sleep at about 7:30 and then feed about 11, then 3 and again 6.

Shew that thread about babies dying after vacs has made me a bit paranoid now!!

And how interesting abt rotorix not being suitable for breastfed babies - I'm going to ask my midwife when I go next time.

Gosh I love coming onto moomie to read posts but its times like this when I just wish I hadn't read that.
