Hello All. Callum is going for his jabs tomorrow - shame poor chap - hope he does not cry too much.

Claire - the nurse told me that the Emla patch numb the skin and not deep enough for them not to feel the injection. Also she says sometimes you put the Emla on where they can't inject then it's all for nothing.

Kimika - I am going to try introduce solids when Callum is about 7 months old (5 months in real age). I started the girls at 4 months but I do think it was a bit too early. I would like Callum to sit up on his own before feeding him.

Tazzy - I am also picking up unwanted weight , especially around my tummy.

MistyMom - that pic of Ryan and dad is just too cute! Ya I am going to draw up a to do list for her so she knows what to do monthly / weekly / daily.

Betty - ya babies tend to wake up as soon as they are a bit cold. Now in winter, I put the oil heaters on like 2 hours before the shoot, the bar heater about an hour and the gas heater about 1/2 hour before so the whole studio is warm. I don't take the gas heater close to the babies - just the oil heaters. But it gets really hot in there.

Well Callum still did not have a poo nappy! Sjoe I think it's about 3 weeks now! Going to ask the nurse tomorrow what she think.

Sorry girls, can't scroll down further and need to go anyways. This week is going to be hectic for me. Got shoots every day (not complaining) and still need to do editing etc. etc.

Tazzy - I hate those explosive nappies and man 4am is not my favourite time :/

Lucy - not porridge brain, its I am not reading properly coz little man is crying and i am rushing to finish here. lol sorry man.

Mistymom - did you get the emla cream and use the panado before the vaccinnations? did it help much? i am not looking forward to the vaccinnation day and so glad its not the week my hubby is on standby. Ryan is a real cutie.. If you gals are talking about the yoomi bottles - they are about 80 rand each a bottle.

Kimika - I think R is in fact stretching his feeds - when at Vix the other day you fed him once and he was content and we were there for about 4 hours I think... when are you considering introducing the solids?

Mistymom - Ryan has grown so much and he looks just like his dad!
How's the expressing and feeding going? Have you given breastfeeding another go yet?

Kimika - I love that link you shared .I saved it. It really does make a lot of sense. I haven't weighed Amelia this week but I'm sure she must be around 6.5kg. She hasn't doubled yet - she weighed 3.7kg at birth so that would make it 7.4kgs. I'll start her on rice cereal at about 18 weeks.

I've been so hungry lately!! Can't stop eating and I'm slowly picking up unwanted kilos need to start eating healthier from tomorrow!! Definately!!

I had a bad night with Amelia. Our alarm went off at 1230am so it woke her up 2hrs before she usually wakes. So then she woke at 230 and again at 430 with an explosive nappy! Its not easy changing a nappy with one eye open in the dark.

That bit really helps for those who's babies feed often. Now there is a bit in there that made me have a bit of a lightbulb moment. If they need to feed that often in order to gain sufficient weight.. then surely once they have done their bit to "double their birth weight by 4-6months" they will slow a bit in feeding? Possibly thats why its ok then to introduce solids? (Im still not going to).. So I was thinking and realised that R has in fact doubled his birthweight even before reaching 4months.. which in my books is fav.. so maybe he is just slowing down his feeding. He just doesnt *want* to feed 2hourly as he used to and is stretching his feeds?? So there it wouldve been easy to introduce solids into those long stretches?? What do you think gals?? .. just my theory.. hope Im slightly right

But he has been better .. just had his 23:30 feed and had both breasts and went straight back to lala land.

Sorry that Im obsessing over this.. I guess Ill be able to focus more on other posts tomorrow
