Meags - it shouldn't take much longer until you stop producing milk. Especially since you going for 12hrs now. Hope all that frozen milk doesn't go to waste!

Lucy - Mauritius! Wow!! but I would never be able to leave Amelia either, I would be a nervous wreck!
How's this cold spell - its snowed on the berg on thursday so it is freeeeerzing here! I had to go into town this morning, so I dressed Amelia in a babygrow and a polarfleece suit and still piled 2 blankets on her.

Meags re the mini pill (Microval), my gynae said it is only effective as a contraceptive as long as you are BFing/expressing at least 4 times a day. So if you're going to stop now you definitely need to go on another contraceptive.

My surgery went well, so now we just wait for the results from the lab to see whether everything is okay. Just before I went into surgery my gynae came to say hi and I told him I was suddenly bleeding a LOT again this week, so he suggested doing a D&C since I was going in anyway. So I got a 2 in 1. He said there was some leftover placenta that might have caused the bleeding so he removed that. I'm feeling 100%, no pain or bleeding so far - touch wood!

I hate this job. My lower back is so painful. I don't get a chance to sit.. Its worse than table mountain. The hours are crap and i get home close to 7pm. By which time sulaiman is almost in bed. I have to pay my own transport and if i make no sales i get no money. I have to pump milk three times at least and that doesn't happen cos the stupid ppl im with don't want me to. So i have to wait and i get so engorged and leak and have wet spots. I have decided im not going back on monday. Its not fair on anyone.

Sorry for barging in, just wanted to say something about the pills that dry up your milk:

I took the pills when i stopped bf, and i had EXTREMELY SORE FULL ENGORGED, PAINFUL, SORE, PAINFUL BOOBS, for about 4 days. It was the most horrific pain i have ever experienced!! And once you take those pill you are not allowed to express or bf again! As this will just defeat the purpose and your body will start re-producing milk.

Really hope you get sorted out quick Meags, maybe homeopathic route will be the answer to your question?? Good luck !!

@ Meags, just quickly want to say that there are homeopathic remedies for drying up Breast Milk. I fyou can find a homeopath you should try some. It might be easier for you than going through the thing "Cold Turkey"

Lucy, misses mom- glad you are enjoying the cloth nappy experience. I would possibly have gone that route, but for LG going to crèche. But the bamboo nappies do sound interesting. Perhaps I will give them a try.

Kimika, it is so cold in CT, I can only imagine what it is like up there.
The kango ( or Mango - got to love predictive text) pouch seems to be a constant now in the afternoons. Sarah is awake from the time I collect M from school- about 3.30 till after M goes to sleep, about 8 pm at night. Then she sleeps really well till about 11 and wakes again at 3 and then 6 and then 9 am. She is generally awake for a while then and has another sleep at about 12. The afternoons are the worst, she gets a bit cranky.

Meags - hope you are not in too much pain with the boobs. It sounds like you are getting somewhere only pumping 2ce a day. I too miss being pregnant. But really am enjoying having Miss S with us!

Lucy, yay on your holiday to St Lucia and Aldo your working holiday to Mauritius! It is hard leaving little one behind though.
