Meags - I don't know anything about soy milk. But my gynae did tell me that you need to feed 4 times in 24 hours for the mini pill to be effective! So I am guessing you do need to change. It is totally ridiculous to leave your boobs. You'll get mastitis. How did you train your body to only make milk twice a day. That is what i'd like to do when I go back to work.

Well I booked up a getaway for mid june to st lucia. The main reason is so we can go to the parks. Yippee.
Just found out I am going to mauritius for work in july. I have such mixed feelings. Exciting but Tessa stays home. It is where my family is from and I would get to see my cousins too. How am I going to leave my princess for 4 nights? Grrr

man I am so bummed Ok fine I am only pumping twice a day now. morning and night. so that is an improvement and I hope over the next few days I can start pumping out less and less milk.

BUT....
I called the midwife and she said the tablets for the milk were taken off the market here years ago She said the only solution is to stop pumping totally, endure the pain and after a few days everything will be fine. A FEW DAYS!!!! Missesmom also asked a Dr there for their opinion and both that doctor and my midwife said to wear a tight bra, take pain meds and use cabbage leaves/ice.
Well honestly....its getting to the 12 hour mark since I last pumped and I want to DIE its so sore
So I think I will just continue like this a few days, just pumping twice a day and hopefully after a few days I will no longer be SO engorged by the 12 hour mark. Then I can start reducing the amount I pump out and hopefully in a week or so I'll be finished with all this.

Matt was good today except from when we got home around 4ish. He didnt sleep properly today. Just short naps here and there so I am sure he was really tired. So he eventually was bathed, fed and asleep by 6:30...not too happy about that as I would prefer him to only be down at 7:30 but hey...such is life! There was no way I could stretch him anymore so I guess I am in for a night of atleast 3 wakenings

Last night he went down at 7:30, woke at 12:15 (poo...he use to make it until 2am!!!) then woke at 3 (I knew it was too early for a feed so tried settling him back to sleep - fail) He only drank 40ml and back to sleep. So I expected to be woken shortly after by atleast he slept until 6am. However I hardly slept at all in between the feeds as I have a friggin GRAPE again and it was so sore all night long it kept me up AAARRRGGG

He seems happier on the soy milk...I would say 50% of the feeds are now more calm. so I'll keep monitoring it. I didnt cut out dairy 100% from my diet so if it is the cow milk he is allergic to I am going to have to get rid of all my EBM in the freezer Because when I have been giving him EBM he has been screaming and performing so ya....he's not happy drinking it. (oh no...I can hear him making noises....)

There is research that soy formula/milk can cause infertility in boys...so if he is to stay on the soy, a lady advised me today to give him organic soy instead. anyone heard of this and can you just give that to a baby instead of the formula? I will ask the paed too but nice to get other's opinions.

Was looking through photos today...I REALLY miss being pregnant and having the big belly Like REALLY miss it....

I also asked the midwife about changing to a normal pill since I am not expressing regularly anymore than surely that mini pill is not as effective?? Well she told me I can change if I want to...um...surely I should be changing???? any opinions on that?

Anje, ahh sounds like my first baby! Hope you are coping during the day.. atleast she sleeps well at night! I agree.. they do tend to determine their own little routines.. you just have to take note of the signs they give Hope little princess is better soon!!

Meags, so except for the vomiting it seems like you have a bit of peace around the house? Uhm.. ok Im not that phased with everything.. Im still cleaning his dummies with boilt water etc etc.. Im not parenoid or obsessive about it but I tend to be more on the cautious side. On the other side Im very laid back when it comes to ppl touching him, picking him up etc etc (unless they are sick) I mean he is so cute.. how can you not want to hold him? I think Im just worse when it comes to them getting dirty when they start to crawl etc.. I know its good for them but cleaning dirty babas is just not fun But that rubs off on them as Ive noticed that my oldest hates getting dirty.. he wont go wandering off and youll find him in the garden playing in the mud.. he will play a bit but wont go all out. And if his hands are dirty he will kinda look at them a bit and then either freak out or call me to clean it. They need to experience all the different textures and things at the age of those twins .. its a huge part of them developing.

Ok gotta go.. Sitting in bed on the laptop and battery almost gone. We are still with my sister, she came home today... shame.. seems like the tummytuck is quite eina! Flip and its cold in her house The angelcare showed it was 13 degrees in the room today!!! Seriously.. no wonder R woke up every 2hrs last night.. mustve been cold So they got me a heater tonight. Its really not always easy to stay with other ppl when you have small kiddies.. Anyway.. nighty night! xxx

Missesmom - Wow thanks for all the tips! I don't have a net so I'll have to get that sorted. Yes i do have the micro fleece inserts. I have mother nature, cherub tree and cherubs disposable liners. So I am looking forward to comparing the different ones. The cherub tree ones are huge and I think I may cut them in half to make them go further.

2KM - I think doodlebums is very well priced and your postage is not expensive (actually reasonable!!) but I pay no postage for the cherub tree as she lives near by and I just collect. I will still use doodlebums (and reccommend it ) for everything else!! Still can't wait to use the moo cow nappy, hee hee.

Schatsie - The bambo nappies are way greener, and happen to be a really good nappy too. Just trying to do my little bit for the environment! You should have a look on doodlebums ..... it's a whole new world, and as 2KM said, addictive!!

Often pop onto this thread to see how all the new mommies are doing. But I was just reading about your concerns on the postage on Doodblebums LucyW so thought I would quickly make a comment on that to set your mind at ease. I just want to mention that the postage we charge is exactly as it is given to us from the supplier as it is sent directly from them, the thing about Doodlebums is the convenience of only having one place you have to shop from. I often in the instance like yours where you ordered from various suppliers on one order make adjustments to the postage so you don't pay too much. Buying directly from each supplier would work out the same or more expensive.

Interesting that you found Bambo Disposables at Checkers Pharmacy. They are very nice disposables I must say I liked them alot when I was using them for my Son. Happy cloth Diapering Lucy and Missesmom, it is quite addictive I know

I'm glad A was ok with his shots. Its always so hard, I actually feel physically sick when my girls have to go. I'm going to give that cream a go next time, will let you all know how it worked.

Faw hon, please dont mess with blue lips, even if you take him to a clinic. Rather safe than sorry.

Meags, my form of "sterilizing" a dummy is popping it into my mouth before giving it to Kate. And to be honest I dont even sterilize her bottles, I just wash them in soapy water. Children must be exposed to germs or they will never learn how to build up against them.

Lucy, thankfully my postage isn't bad. About R30 an order. I just need to learn to shop in one go! I tend to do a shop ever 3-4 days (I've also been buying stuff for my boss and cousin)
Get a net for your bin - dont put water in it, just several drps of tea tree at the bottom - will hide any smells and acts like a disinfectant. (also great for stains) and then just close the net and throw into machine to wash. Also use the disposable liners - you can get the mother nature ones which are really good, or the cherub tree ones. I just flush them down the loo.
Do you have a wet bag for when you are on the road to use as a nappy sack?
Oh and do you have the fleece liners? They are great for keeping the bottom dry.

Well last night we had our first difficult night with Kate, she just would not settle! I was so tired I was drifting in and out of sleep while trying to settle her and then DH took over cause at one point I told her that she could just cry herself to sleep but I wasnt moving! I dont recall saying that so must have been half asleep. But DH took her till 12, and then she only woke again at 4, so I at least got a good 5 or 6 hours sleep.
Seems she was a bit contsipated for some reason, and I massaged her poop out this am. All happy again now.
Em asked this morning if she can go back to aftercare, which is fab cause I took her out cause she was crying for me. So she went today and was great. Wants to go back. This is a huge help for me, cause I actaully cant play with her during the day cause I'm kinda caught between work and Kate. So at least with aftercare I know she is getting play time.

Lucy & MissesMom, what is bamboo nappies? I've never heard of it.
