Hi all

Meags, we just had A swim in his normal nappy and a little short sleeved babygrow. It was really funny to see how those nappies swell up - it actually made his bum float in the water. I've heard of swimming nappies, but didn't know if you get them for such small babies and didn't have time to look for them either.

We actually go out a lot with him. Went to Canal Walk again yesterday. It is such a pleasure to take him out since he loves the car and pram so much and sleeps most of the time.

Meags gee, your poor brother!! He reminds me a bit of my brother... always very popular with tons of friends, never studied and wasn't too responsible and had all these big ideas of having his own business, which never really worked too well.

Misty yay on getting the nanny! Please let me know if you do get anything re a contract for her. Mine starts tomorrow and I still need to do a contract for her too. We are giving her a roster with tasks and marking each one as daily, weekly, etc., then she needs to tick them off as she does them so we can know what she did besides looking after baby.

Our poor little boy had a bit of a cold so I took him to the paed - probably ridiculous, but we were due for the 6 week checkup next week, so decided to rather go a bit early and have him checked up. Dr said it was nothing serious and we should just use saline drops for his nose and he will get antibodies from me since I was a bit sick too. He now weighs 4.15kgs (vs 3.35 @ birth) and is 52cm tall (vs 49 @ birth), so dr is super happy with his progress!

He slept really well this morning - only fed at 2h00, 5h00 and 9h00, so both DH and I managed to get some decent sleep.

oh meags how horrible!! At least he could talk to you but Ja being far away is horrible. When fail members are in pain it really hurts!! Soon you will be with him and can give him a big hug. Thinking of you! Maybe this is his rockk bottom and things will just get better and better from here.

Hi ladies

Man I cant believe this. My brother just smsed asking me to call him. When I did, he was crying so much and eventually I got it out his car has been stolen.

Let me tell you about my brother so you can fully understand why I am totally heartbroken right now.

My brother partied all through varsity and never completed his degree. He is liked by everyone, has a million friends, but when it comes to studying/work - he's really not successful.
He has ideas of his own like making slippers that are slip slops....he is convinced it will make him millions (oh yes he is 28 years old...)

anyway he is studying again to finish the degree he never got. He works for my dad but my dad's business is coming to an end (property developer and no more money/properties to develop). So he is moving to CT (he was there a few years ago and couldnt find work...) as he now thinks that he has experience, he can find work this time round.

He put down a R110 000 deposit on a flat 2 years ago. The estate agent took it and paid off all her personal debt!! I kid you not. She was not even phased when he asked WTF she was thinking!!!! (he had borrowed this money from my step dad). So he had to borrow another R110 000....,now owing step dad R220 000...eish...

Anyway obviously there is a court order for the stolen money. which means there are lawyer fees - which step dad is paying...now around R70 000. Eventually after 2 years the money has been paid in bits and pieces. (as far as I know...) but I'm not sure the lawyer fees were paid off.

He does not make wise decisions...he bought a bakki that cost R95 000....a bakki?! at that price?! anyway he had to get finance on it and was paying something like 19% interest...ridiculous. so he sells the bakki and buys something he has always wanted....an old mini that he can fix up. great. everything in total costs only about R30 000.

Well he has had the car about a month and tonight it was stolen He has no insurance on it and doesnt even know the license plate number.
He has reported it stolen but we all know that car is long gone.

I am soooo devastated for him. On top of it all, his girlfriend of 6 years dumped him a month ago. He has been waiting around for her for 2 years while she travelled Europe, been living in CT for her job and then she dumps him...

I just want to sit here and cry. He is crying so much and you can hear he just wants to give up on life because literally EVERYTHING goes wrong for him. He is so unlucky And there is no family in JHB he has as support right now. I am so far away, my mom is in Switzerland and my dad's response to him was "you should have insured the car". Ok yes he should have. But he didnt and he certainly doesnt need to hear that right now.

He is desperate to speak to my mom and we cant get hold of her. She must be out and clearly just not hearing her phone Ah man today I feel so depressed for him

hi girls. Sorry i have been mia. There is no way i can catch up on 2 weeks. Congrats betty, i know you were in labour last time i was here. I have a job at global direct startin monday. Phone was stolen out of car. Got a new 1. Will do a better up date later.

Kimika - hope you have a bit more "me time" this weekend!

Meags - seems M is feeding like RYan - these little night feeds really get to me! He wakes for a feed...feed him about 40ml, he falls asleep and i cant force feed him any more then put him in cot (where he has slept from day 1 at night) go back to bed and he is sqwauking 10 minutes later for food...it usually goes like this from 1-4.30am...then he sleeps from 5-7am and then we back on days feeds of every 2-3 hours where he will drink 100-150ml! He is only 3 weeks old so hoping we can get into a better night rotine shortly! Thankfully DH has helped out with night feeds every second night, but he is back to work on Monday (in fact away all week!! )

Betty - shame about stressful photoshhot....but at least it is done! We just have not had time to get around to that yet hope to see some piccys soon!

AFM - besides having days where I feel like a zoombie we are doing ok all things considered! My mom is stillin hopsital (hepititis A!!!!). Really have no idea where she got it from! So we all went into panic mood when it was dignosed last week (as she had been with Ryan) but doc said it os not contagous like that (phew!). BUt the timing is not great as DH away next week (mon - fri) and she was going to come stay with me to help. So anyway it is all like a blessing in disguise as I know get my nanny early!!!! It is so ideal! Her sister works next door (looking after a 1 year old) and she came yesterday so we could meet her etc and even after 5 mnutes i just was so happy with her! While I was interviewing her she was holding and winding RYan and I could see how natrual and taken she is with him. She will work mon - fri when I am back at work but until then 2 days a week so we can all get into a routine and i can make sure I am 100% happy with her! It was SO SO SO nice yesterday to be able to sit and rest! At last had a bit of me time as when Ryan was sleeping did not have to run about hanging out washing, cleaning kitchen etc!

My BF from JBH was also here yesterday so we went out to Canal Wlalk for lunch. Was so nice coming home to a clean house an dnothing to do! THose with nannys...how do you do the housework? Obviously baby comes first, but do you have a rotine like mon they do windows while baby sleeps. tuesday bathroom etc? As she will be with us a full working week she will have time between Ryan to do some housework. I also need to draw up a contract with her so we can get her on UIF etc (want to do this all right) so if anybody has something I could work form that would be great! (shannonsullivan@iburst.co.za)

Lastly what is also a nuge bonus is that as her sister works right next door if for nay reason she is sick then Ryan can go next door for the day (and visa versa). We were chattiong with neighbours last night and we both were saying how it would be nice to have "couple date time" so wjen Ryan is a little older we will babysit fro each oter once or twice a month so the other couple can go out!

.....so that all seems to be falling in place nicely!

so bored today....Matt is behaving strangely. he usually has a long nap in the morning but has been doing like 45 minute naps, drinking 30ml, sleeping, crying, wanting to be held, drink a little more...not really ideal as I prefer knowing when he is due for a feed and now it's all over the place! wanted to go out but now he has decided to nap again

I hope he is trying to wean himself off the night feed EmsMom. It would make a world of difference to me!!!

Meags, is Mat sleeping better now? I hope that he is trying to wean himself off his night feeds Kate is also such a lazy night time feeder! I have to fight to get her to latch and she'll take a few sips and then fall off.

Betty, hope you get to go out soon, cabin fever is not cool. Sorry S was not playing fair at the photoshoot. But I'm sure that the photos will come out nicely

Lucy, how was T's wind been? I hope its all better now.

Schatsie I'm glad that the week-end away went so well!! Nice that A loves to drive. Kate is not a fan of driving sadly.

Well, yesterday I thought my boobs were going to fall off! Kate was drinking I swear every 30min!! I actually started to day dream about formula. But thankfully she slept ok last night and has made up for it today by sleeping lots! Must have been a growth spurt.
