memo sorry if I made you scared. It wasn't my intention. Truth is that majority of births go very well. Maybe a minor thing here or there, but all managable.

Omg, Nelria. SORRY.. that sounds horrible, I must say it did take me awhile to fall head over heels (which is where I'm at now, breastfeeding really does the trick) for my baby, I saw nothing of me in him. And after being dragged around the house by my midwife, I felt so furious, when my baby arrived I just wanted to bath and have it over with so she would leave!
WAB
I tore quite badly and I also couldnt sit or walk properly so I had to have my baby handed to me by DH.
But eish, I might have felt vulnerable at the time. But I'm sure it's nothing compared to how powerless and pissed off you must have been.
Do you really have to ASK!!! them not to strap your arms down and to have catheter inserted after. My gawd!!

I think that regardless of the option you choose it is down to researching! Knowing the pro's and con's, what choices you have, side effects for mother and baby and recovery time.

You wouldn't plan a wedding without checking out venues first, choosing colour schemes, menu's, flowers, seating plans etc etc...
Yet so many women go in to labour or for their section completely 'blind' and have no idea what to expect and are utterly terrified!
Again, regardless of the method it should be exciting and joyful meeting your baby for the first time!

I just want to add that internal examinations for natural birth are done 4 hourly until you are in active labour (4cm) and from 4cm they then do them 2 hourly. they should NOT be doing them every 60 minutes and I've worked in government and private and havent experienced anyone doing 1 hourly internals UNLESS the mother requests you to check if she feels the baby is coming.

And even then, you have the right to refuse internals.

Julz, when I fell pregnant I remember saying to my DH, I wonder what the difference is...
Once I started researching and reading and reading and watching LOTS of different births on youtube. The choice was very obvious for me.

I had a very specific idea of how my birth was meant to go down and my midwife got bored and hijacked things quite a bit. So I completely get how painfull it is when such a big day does not go as planned. I can just imagine how disappointed you must have felt. My heart goes out to you, really!
