Sterretjie...congrats on your pregnancy! May you have a H&H pregnancy.

You make some valid points.

But the part that I agree with most is...everybody is an individual and capable of making their own decisions. I don't think we have the right to judge anyone for decisions they have made with regards to childbirth or breastfeeding or when they start solids :)

We all love our children to bits in the end and would do anything in our power to protect them and give them the best we possibly can and that I think is the most important factor!

It seems to be such a heated topic this but I would like to ask a few questions and add my 2 cents.
Surely it is everyone's choice to have a Natural or Ceasar however does it make you less than a women if you don't have a Natural birth? Does it make anybody less of a women if they cannot fall pregnant normally? Does it mean that she is not a normal women if she cannot breastfeed?
I have struggled for years to fall pregnant and after a abdominal myomectomy last year we were told that the changes of us falling pregnant normally is 1%. We were to start IVF at the beginning of the year but kept on postponing it until I got 2 lines in May. Normally without any help. Now, because of my operation last year my gyne will not allow me to have a natural birth (oeps - am I now also marked because I am not going the natural way?). So do I ignore his request and go for a natural birth and blame him if there are any complications? Surely he knows what he is talking about and even though he is very pro-natural do I follow my heart and go natural? No, because I will never be able to forgive myself if anything should happen to my child. Yes, I always dreamt of going into a marathon long natural birth and to push my baby out because hey, I want to do the natural thing - but now I am thinking of my child and listening to my gyne.
The only other thing I have left to do normally is breastfeeding.
Surely every one have their own reason for going natural or ceasar but lets not be so sensitive and forget the fact that we are all individuals and what rocks my boat might not rocks yours.

I dont know why ceaser moms get defensive anyway...in SA natural moms are a dying species. In m moms group I'm one of 2 NVD's and the only person thats exclusively breastfeeding. I often feel like I've got a big L stamped onto my forhead. I agree about making choices for yourself and not the baby, and if you mak the choice then why get defensive about it (besides you would be in a majority nowadays anyway)
