Anyone else trying for a 2014 baby?

I called gynae yesterday, she said to go for blood test to rule out pregnancy first. Im pretty confident that it will be a negative though - no way 3 different band hpt's can ALL be wrong.

So, went for bloods yesterday, results should be sent to her this afternoon, and then she will advise next steps. If she comes back and says provera, I am going to decline though. I would rather just wait it out. The provera caused such a heavy, painful period last month, I really dont want to go through that again! Last month I was lucky to have it happen on the weekend, but would hate to go through that while at work!

I reflected last night and think the long cycle is probably being caused by stress. I am having a hectic time at work, at home with Emily (she is going through a very difficult period, I was even called in to school) and we just did lots of home renovations, and then the anxiety caused by waiting for AF to arrive. So, I think its all just been to much.

Nicolette - hope all goes well with the hysteroscopy. The procedure isn't bad.
9th May is around the corner. Dr Siebert also did my hysteroscopy. He found that I had Ashermans syndrome, which is scarring on the unterine wall, which he repaired, I then had to go for a second hysteroscopy the following month to see the result, the result was good. Your in good hands.

We are going to try AI. But the FS did an internal scan and picked up a little something in my uterus which he wants to investigate first - so I need to have a hysteroscopy. He thinks it might be calcification, or a polyp. But he needs to be sure first. The op is cycle specific - and when I could have it this month - all the gynaes were on some or other conference. So I'm booked in for the 9th of May. Once we know all's ok there - I will go onto Clomid (or Fertomid) for 5 days, and then do the AI.

CD39 - sounds like the frustration I had- had AF 5/02 and then only again on 11/04.

Nicolette - what is your POA now?

I know what GW is saying though - we were quoted R5 000 for AI - but we were warned to bank on three attempts - so to look at R15 000 not R5 000. Perhaps her dr is suggesting two attempts rather than one, in which case the prices are pretty spot on similar.

R35k is alot more palatable. Especially considering that one might want to try more than once.
