Hi ya all,

Ja, it's true, I'm feeling as if I'm sitting here on my high horse throwing around suggestions as if it's the easiest thing on earth.

As naomicee said, a healthy lifestyle doesn't happen overnight. I'm fortunate that Rosemarie and I decided to get healthier at about the same time. Rather, I followed a month or three after her.

Even though we had this desire to improve our health, it still took us months to make living healthier a lifestyle. We're glad that Mary-Ann is born into a health-conscious household. And she the healthiest kid I know of. We're very grateful.

What I also fond when I spoke to other people, was that while they are pregnant and have to cope with a couple of new things, they also decide to improve their health.

Keep up the good work, and good luck.

Francois

Francois, it would be so nice to wake up with kids who like all the stuff that I eat   Good point though, I buy a lot less junk these days and I am trying to get them to eat helthier too, with my girl it's easy, she's still at that stage where she's happy with what mommy gives her, but my son is a completely different story! he refuses to eat most veggies, and by most I mean all! the only veggies he eats are the ones in a Macdonalds burger...mostly my fault though because I buy these things, but he hates veggies, doesn't like meat either, so his diet is mostly cereal, some fruit and junk!

Same with DH, he hates veggies, and prefers meats and chips and the likes, though he's cut down on beer, seems he's substituted with coke!doesn't help either, I'd also love to have a healthier family, but it's not happening anytime soon unfortunately.

Hi everyone,

I chatted on Moomies so long ago, but decided to hop on the bus again!

I really want to loose these weight and today is my first day!

Name: Shunay
Age: 26
Current wight:72kg (Nog 100% sure)
Height: 1.65m
BMI: 26.45
Goal weight: 57kg
Children: LG - 2years and 4 months old!
Eating Plan: Weight watchers - but not totally strict!
Exercise: Gym for 1 hour 3 times a week!

Well I cannot give my pregnancy the blame for my weight, I weighed 69kg the morning before LG was born and the day I got home I weighed 62kg, the rest is because of EATING, especially emotional eating!

YAY, my size 36 pants are falling off almost! I am wearing pants from before baby today, they are comfortable too!! :woohoo:

lunch for me was a peanut butter and jam sandwich, with warm milk. I hate fat free/low fat/skim milk. it's all just soooo watery. I take full cream milk. breakfast was all brans, and no in between snacks, just water... not sure what I'm making for supper. I't's a tie between grilled fish and grilled pork will decide on the rest later. I'm also hitting the gym this afternoon, can't wait!! :)

Great for you.

Just a friendly question - Why is there unhealthy snacks in your house in the first place? If it's unhealthy for someone who wants to lose weight, then it is unhealthy for everybody else as well.

Our routine is to eat very 'normal', except on Friday evenings. Then we throw all caution to the wind. We love pizza and hamburgers, chips and chocolates, cookies and Milo. But only on Friday evenings. Occasionally, we didn't eat all the Friday night stuff on Friday night, so we finish the leftovers on Saturday. But we buy on Friday afternoon what we expect to finish that evening.

The rest of the week is oats or shake for breakfast, a cooked 'boerekos' meal as our main meal, and the third meal is something light such as soup or salad.

Cheating is part of our normal healthy eating routine.

Something else - Our eating pattern is what we eat as family, it's not mom's eating plan vs the rest of the house's eating plan. This way we focus on being healthy and in shape as a family.
