Feeding your baby BLW style

Makes me sad when things like this go so out of hand..

I have known Marijke for almost 2 years from the July 2009 thread.. I did think she was crazy with the BLW in the beginning and I will openly say it.. My son was a late teether so I was always like how is he going to chew if he doesnt have teeth and he is going to choke!! I went the purity and smashed up route.. I can tell you now- when I have another baby will so not make that mistake again.. I have battled for months now with textured foods because he was just so used to smoosh... He is 14 months old today and we are finally getting there..I havent too many 5 year olds eating with their hands exclusively!!! And I have personally seen many a picture of Bianca eating like a pro with a spoon!!!

What I actually want to say is that in the 2 years that I have known Marijke she has N E V E R E V E R shoved anything down our throats.. I found it so interesting to see how else it can be done.. I didnt have the guts but it was interesting none the less.. Marijke has a heart of gold and she is doing a great job!! Well done!!

So now the only deleted post in this thread was my own reply which basically just said that our barbaric family really enjoy our sit down family meals and that B is only a toddler, mess is expected.

I did not react to this post immediately. I did take the time to consult Deja and had this post been directed at anyone else other than me I would have given a warning. I did not delete the posts out of my own, it was done in consultation with Deja. I understand that deleting the post might not have been the right choice we made that is why I have decided to return it as an image.

I am very passionate about BLW. I did a lot of research before deciding to follow this route. I also don't suck the things I've said before out of my thumb, all of them can be quoted directly from the book on this topic which is backed by proper research.

I apologise for this getting way out of hand. I have gotten so much great feedback from this thread, but like with everything else in life, you have to take the sweet with the sour.

QUESTION: what does BLW stand for?

I feel like I must add my 2c worth in here regarding the deletion of the posts and the placing on probation of Elsa.

I feel that the fact that you are placing Elsa on probation is unfair and uncalled for. I don’t think her post was offensive or insulting/derogatory to anyone. A while back Marijke and Enchante Pixels had an online argument in this very thread regarding Zodwa’s choice to BLW her son and worse things were said, but she was not banned. Therefore I feel that the position of Admin was abused in this instance.

Else did not call you a barbarian. Read the post again! Oh, wait you can’t! I see that we are now living in a police state (although you dispute this)

Also, I do feel that sometimes you do bash the spoon feeding mommies a bit. Well done on going the BLW route, but respect other’s decisions not to do the same. You keep on repeating that this thread is only for mommies going the BLW route, but that still does not give you the right to indirectly state that other mommies are wrong in their feeding approach. I respect your way, respect mine as well.

In your previous post you actually had the nerve to link spoon feeding your child to them becoming overweight! I find this very offensive/insulting and derogatory towards myself and my daughter since we are spoon feeding. Therefore, as per rule 3, I think you should place yourself on probation as well.
