Hope you all are doing well... All the house selling and buying makes me want to get a new one as well!!! hahahaha but no, maybe later!

Here it is going very well, Karla started school last week, from about 7:30 until 2... She loves it, playing with the friends and everything! I am starting work on Monday as an auxiliary Worker at "NG Welfare" in Roodepoort... at last, something that interests me... looking forward to it, but missing Karla every morning!

To all the ladies going for their licences, your life is going to change dramatically. Keep us posted so we can have a glass of vino to celebrate on your behalf.

Beansmom, I also took up running. Been going six times a week for the last three weeks, and I'm feeling much better for it. Still not quite fitting into my pre-pregnancy undies, but we're getting there. And don't dare ask my per-kilometre time because I'm too embarrassed to tell you.

Going to check out "your house" as soon as I hit "submit". I love househunting but it's quite emotionally draining when you're actually invested.

I am thinking of you lots and lots and am hoping Tayla gets better soon. I've learnt that there's nothing worse than a sick child. Before I had Emily I'd think that parents were just being dramatic when they'd complain about their sick little ones, and I feel bad about things that I said or thought about people who had kids when I didn't. It really is horrible when they're sick. Hope you get all your goodies ready in time for the Indaba. Let us know how it goes.

Bronz, why's Graeme's appetite down? Maybe it has something to do with the teething, which is why he loves the fruit sticks. What about other little chewy things like sausages? Does he like feeding himself? You could always try making potato cakes or meatballs, stuff like that. Emily's new favourite is frozen peas. She can't get enough of them. She also likes those frozen mixed veggies. Will Graeme eat stuff like that? I think the colours are attractive to her. And since she can open the freezer herself she helps herself.

Babyshoes, we're only due to hear tomorrow whether our offer was accepted. Not expecting it to be though - I'm sure there are people who've offered more than us. Who's Clive?? Must be a pretty "good" friend if he's doing sandpits and stuff....

What a chilly day in Cape Town today... Finally a bit of winter?!? Gave me the perfect excuse not to start my running... and instead decided to clear out the house... well start anyway... so been cleaning, packing and moving furniture all morning. Decided I deserved a short break

@Bronz - Sadly only the babygates and the taglets are going to be on display - and my UIF flyers. The lady that is my agent selected only a couple of items that she thought might sell well at the Indaba. But it is a start.... a foot in the door! I was hoping to have my own stand - but just cannot justify spending R4000 on a stand, and then all the extra's for the signage and someone to be there all weekend! Maybe next year!! *Hold thumbs*

@Scribblingal - Tayla is finally back at the daymother today after being kept home for 2 days. Monday night we had a little scare.. we took her temp at 6 cos she was super niggly and it showed 39.5... so off we rushed to the mediclinic where we had to undress her and wait in a air-conditioned room till her temp went below 38... this took 7.5ml of panado and 45 mins to happen... They also told us she has tonisilitis... so we brought her home, fed her and popped her in bed cos by this time she was so tired. She woke a couple of times for her dummy, but went straight back to sleep... until 2am! She refused the dummy and was wriggling all over her cot. So luckily hubby had gone and bought the digital ear thermometre earlier the evening... cos her temp was 39.5, then 2 minutes later 40.1! I hit a bit of a panic... whipped her out the cot, stripped her down and dumped her in a cool bath... 1 hour of cool sponge bathing later... it finally went down to 37.8. We even called the hospital to see what they said... So kept her home on Tuesday and she was so miserable... poor thing... but at least temp stayed down pretty much all day... then woke up yesterday with temp of 38.4 again... so kept her home again just to monitor... Just hope that is over with for now...

And as for the house... i tend to agree that most houses can be made child friendly - but this one is a little challenging. The "paving" around the pool is rough stone which looks gorgeous... but not suitable for a little one unstable on her feet. We could easily put a pool net over the pool - no fence though. The Koi pond is more of the issue... if we had to put gates and fences up to stop Tayla from falling in it would ruin the whole beauty of the house... which is the main reason we loved it. It is very open with big french doors that stack open to the pool, jacuzzi and outside entertainment area. Another point recently raised is that the road it is on is fairly busy which may be an issue for our cats. They are like my other kids I know - sad, but I've already gone through the whole drama when my first cat was mauled by our neighbours dog, and I was a bit of a mess for the entire weekend... so would prefer to avoid all that. Anyhoo - so the hunt continues. And the rubbish that is out there is scaring me more and more every day!!!!

ok - so i think that was a suitable break... before i get too comfy sitting her... let me get back to packing!

@ babyshoe I can't drive as well starting with lesson since 2007 was in Cape town then and I moved to Heidelberg (East Rand) working in Mpumalanga still went for lessons but the issue is going to test and learners expired became pregnant and now I am Jozi staying as a family with my fiancé still no licence and now I don't have a choice I must have it dh works at vanderbilj and me I am based at Sunninghill so if the child get sick I must be the one who' s taking them to the doctor
