Morning everyone

Summer is here in Limpopo! I have come to work in flipflops because none of my other summer shoes fit, uniform stopped fitting long ago so pretty much wearing anything that fits!

Mommyme, yay for no placenta previa, you are wanting a natural birth aren't you so thats awesome news! Hope the bleeding stays under control. At least baba is healthy and happy.

Robsyc, I think your spasm is the muscles stretching. I have a pulling quite high up on my waist. I really suffer with muscle spasms in the night, my legs and calve muscles are very sensitive, if I do a morning stretch it sets off a spasm. My feet are swelling and I'm also wearing my fake wedding ring because my real rings don't fit!

I have my scan on Monday, can't wait to see Liam and hopefully get some goodnews about the placenta as well.

I think from now on we are all going to just grow exponentially because baby is putting on weight by the day, which is awesome!! Good luck with your work load, remember to take it easy as much as you can! After all, in the end, baby comes first

MommeMe, that is so great to hear that everything is going well with baby!!! What awesome news The bleeding can be from lots of different things that aren't related...I've had continuous bleeding and it turns out the first time I had a bladder infection and the second time it was a really bad case of thrush (that I didn't notice until it got so bad that I could feel it, which is strange because before pregnancy I felt it straight away). Anyway, the most important thing to do is rest and make sure we don't overdo anything.

I wanted to ask your opinions ladies: I have been having these muscle spasm like cramps in my abdominal muscles - but not at the bottom, at the top under my left breast. I'm not sure if this is from the stretching of my muscles as they open to make way for baby...but it has been going on for 2 weeks and it almost feels like a cramp or spasm - that's the best way I can describe it Has anyone else had anything similar? It 'pulls' so much that I have to sit in a weird position and so it's making my back even worse - like a continuous cycle haha! anyway, some other stories of something similar would be nice

Morning everyone

So I had my scan yesterday. Little baba is doing perfect. She's weighing about 362g and is 15cm from head to rump We saw her yawning, sucking het thumb and stretching out..so cute!

Dr confirmed that my placenta is very healthy and high up. so that is not what is causing the bleeding and def not placenta previa, so that is super awesome news. She cant say where the bleeding is coming from, can be from a polyp,bladder or anything not related to the pregnancy, so I am not worrying to much. The spotting and bleeding cleared up completely until this morning, a little again. But I am not phased.

Joans love the belly. it starts to form very nicely now. Mine also feels rock hard all the time, so its really preggy belly. Maybe I will see you at the seminar the weekend. looking forward!!!! and wow baby is growing well! Glad everything is good and settled with your health.

Robs, haha I feel your pain, I don't have swelling on my feet, only my hands and my eczema is also contributing. I do however suffer from really bad heartburn some days..eeek! I am not so much of a milk lover, but then that's seems to be a quick relieve. so I just do it! I tried to focus on other stuff rather than thinking about the work situation. not worth it!

Oh and jip I also tend to feel sleepy early on in the evening, yesterday on the way back from Cape Town I just could not keep my eyes open, so fell asleep in the car and continued some "resting" when I got home.

It's so quiet since the notification system has been messing around...

MommyMe I know what you mean with frustrating jobs. I had a teaching job last year that I HATED. The students were really great but everything was so disorganised that getting through a week without any major problems was almost impossible. Sometimes the best thing you can do is move on! Almost there! Holding thumbs that the pesky bleeding goes and stays away now.

Robyn I'm also feeling a bit overwhelmed by the amount of work I'm going to have to do in the next month. Normally I would just knuckle down, but I'm just concerned as I know I won't be able to manage my pre-pregnancy load, so I think it's stressing me out a bit. The grannies- and grandpas-to-be are the best so much excitement!!! It's so precious to have them around, knowing that little one will be able to get to know them well. As for bedtime I usually make it to about 9:30 or 10, but then again I only get up at 7am so it makes sense.

AFM I was at the doc again today, all is looking well, and I also officially got a clean bill of health babs is weighing in at about 780g now, going to be a chunky monkey! I haven't gotten any swelling or much backpain, but I'm getting quite big now and I'm finding things like bending down and tying shoelaces are becoming more and more difficult. I also feel weird if I spend too much time on my feet. But other than that I don't really have much complaints! Baby kicks all the time and I'm not too heavy yet so it's still enjoyable. I hope you're all having a great week so far. I'm still not getting any notifications for updates here. So I have to rely on my memory to come and check and that is super faulty at the moment hee hee!

Joan, so happy to hear you're feeling better! Yay! Yay for your pram set too! It's so exciting when things start coming together. I think we've also bought way too much stuff, and both mine and hubby's parents keep sending more! We're very lucky to have them though so I don't complain
Good luck with your workload! Sounds like you've really got a rough month ahead!

MommyMe, I hope you are feeling in a better headspace with work. I can only imagine how frustrating it can be. Just remember that yours and baby's health comes first! It is a lot easier said than done to find a job that you love to do - but with perseverance and patience it can be done Just don't give up!

News on my side, my feet are starting to swell and I have the worst back pains! So it has begun! Feeling the little guy kicking all the time now, which is great! He loves to kick while I'm at work. It's nice because it reminds me that he's there and he's happy. Had my parents visit over the weekend and they spoilt our little guy so much, I think they kitted out most of his room. My mom didn't like the shelf and drawers we had painted (an old hand me down) and so she just went and bought new ones She justified it by saying 'it's for Nathan'. she's so excited to have a grandson!

Otherwise work has been crazy, workload is doubling every day, for the first time I actually feel like I'm a bit overwhelmed. But I think that's more my emotions than my ability. When I calm myself down I usually figure it all out and get it done. Doing science all day every day is rather tiring

Speaking of tiring...does anyone else get super tired by 7pm?! I find myself almost falling asleep but then I push myself until 8pm because I feel too guilty only spending an hour or so with hubby before I go to bed! Shew but I get so tired! Crazy!

Ok I better get back to my workload for the day - I'm having one of those days where my brain will just not start and keep going...
