Halooo moomie mommas.

I haven't been on here for a while but reading all the posts on my cell.

So nice seeing everyone is doing good and "popping". We should def post some pics of the belly's soon.

I don't want to complain and I am very very grateful that everything is going well so far, but the spotting is still haunting me. Since it started, the most I did not have any was maybe a day and half. otherwise I get it every morning and sometimes during the day, also have a cold again :pinch: and my head feels like it wants to burst!! :headbang: BUT

I absolutely enjoy the heart monitor and listens to our baby girl every night and are so relieved then to hear her little heart beating. She also moves a lot. as soon as I "find" her, she moves again and I try to follow it. We are already playing hide and seek  I really enjoy the monitor a lot and I think it is a must for everyone that went through previous losses.

On Saturday night I also couldn't find her and having had spotting during the day, I was desperate to hear her little heartbeat. Hubby came to look for the and within seconds, he found her. It is also a great way for them to interact from early on. So sweet.

We also wanted to go to the indaba, but with all the car trouble and other stuff happening, we just couldn't really spend a lot of money now on prams etc,so we will only do that shopping in Dec.

Nadia how was D of the dino? we are also going, but during the week, I couldn't believe all weekend tickets was sold and this was still a while back. Taking my little brother to go, he adores dinosaurs. I also got myself the maternity pillow and uses it some nights. sometimes feels like the bed is to small and we've got a queen ,haha. How do you find it? Also glad the dentist is over and done with, think I will visit him after baby is born

Joans we had the exact same motivation for not doing all the décor we wanted in the nursery, we are thinking of moving next year, but will first be renting again. so are basically just going to invest in some changes in our bedroom for the first few months. Not the way I wanted it originally, but its useless to spend all the money on paint and wall stickers and stuff and need to paint it again when we move. unless we stay there longer, but there's a few reasons we don't want to. Also want something rather in Somerset west.

Robsyc, enjoy the scan and let us know. :woohoo:

Blessedw1 I bought the monitor at BabyBoom in Somerset West. it was R500 and you get a very small tube of gel. the extra gel is R60. Some people also use baby oil or water, not sure if it works that well.

TCC84 you are now 2 days earlier than me, haha, can you already feel fluttering's? Nice to always compare to someone that's got the same due date.

Welcome Tandiswaseloto. I hope you are still well?

Natsvan its quite stressful if you don't know what the bleeding is from, but I am just trusting in the Lord above.

Thank you for everyone for your support, you are a awesome group of ladies.

My scan pics of 13 weeks are long overdue but I just wanted you to see our little princess saying hi.

Have a nice evening and rest of the week ladies.

I posted a long reply and then lost it :headbang:

Took my son to Days of Dinosaurs yesterday and popped in at baba Indaba after since both were at cticc.

Bought a maternity pillow for comfy sleeping that I plan to use as a breastfeeding cushion after birth. Saw a cot that I loved! But don't need :)

Joans, which stroller did you end up taking? Good luck with the move! Do you have an idea of when you will move?

Apotgieter, thanks! Not my fave place either but had to be done. As for bump, there's days where I feel and look huge and days you can't see much!

Robsyc, enjoy the scan! Best to go look at prams at a big baby city - they can spend time showing you features etc. you can always wait till next show to buy to see if they have specials once you've decided.

MommyMe, how are things now? Spotting all cleared?

Natsvan, I love the look of cloth diapers! Just very lazy and since baba will be going to daycare when I return to work I'm not sure it could work for me.

How is everyone else doing?

Hello Everyone!

Hope you all had a grand weekend.

So glad to hear everyone is doing well and also starting to show and feel movements, so exciting!

TCC84 cute pics! Interesting that everyone's babies are already looking different, even in the womb. Such an amazing thing.

Natsvan, sorry to hear about that, I can only imagine how hard it must be when the little ones are sick, but glad to hear he's back to being up to no good again, haha! I've also heard that breastfeeding is the BEST way to lose the baby weight, so I'm totally going for it.

AFM, hubby and I went to baba indaba, and it was really worth it for us. The thing is that we already knew exactly which pram we wanted, babies r us just never had it in stock, and then the night before indaba I just went through the specials pages and chose which items we wanted and literally made a little list. We were also there before they even opened the doors, so as soon as they did we just made a beeline for the baby boom shop section, which was way at the back. Because we went directly and knew exactly what we wanted it was really easy, we literally just took everything on our list, paid, and then they kept it for us while we explored the other stalls (which weren't all that impressive). I've learnt not to expect to much from expo's either way, and we didn't want to really make a day out of it, we just wanted to abuse the really great sale prices, and for that indaba was really great. We ended up buying our pram for R850 less than it was in the stores, a fancy video baby monitor for R450 less than in the stores, a diaper disposal unit for cheap, a (manual) breast pump thats apparently quite good and a good changing mat for the nursery (I already have a table I'm going to use). So we were in and out in less than an hour, which is good because DH hates shopping-type activities anyway.

Then in other news my little one has been extremely active the last couple of days! He's probably kicked about 5 times since I started writing this post  loving it! DH and I have decided to move back to Somerset-West once the baby is born, it will just save us so much and we both love the idea of granny looking after baba in our own home while I work. I'm just so excited as this means I get to decorate a PROPER nursery, and as it's not a rental place I can actually do whatever I want. Also it's just such a lovely area to raise a kid in. Getting really excited now! My next scan is next week I think, so that's also something I'm looking forward to.

Here's to a good week ladies!

Hi Ladies!

I hope you all had a good weekend! Did anyone go to the Baba Indaba? I was quite disappointed with it to be honest, I expected a lot more. I was hoping to have a view of different types of strollers and car seats etc. but there wasn't much of a selection. I ended up asking the actual guests at the show who had the prams I liked how they were enjoying them!

Anyway! There's another expo in November, the baby expo, so hoping that will be bigger and better....and maybe they'll have a nice 4D scan facility, because I was REALLY hoping for that this weekend! But there wasn't one!

I am going for my monthly scan today to check baby's progress. Very excited! Have to get through a whole day of work still! :S
Have a wonderful day everyone :)

Hi all you pregnant mommies!

I haven't logged on for ages, this past month has flown by in a blur. My lb was quite sick with a virus so that was awful and took up all my spare time. I'm happy to say he is back to his normal self by throwing odd things in the washing machine and escaping into the bush (my nerves are shot). :tmi: He started monkeynastics, or should I say I started monkeynastics, I spent the first class running around the field after him and didn't really do much in the class. The second lesson was a bit better but still exhausting!

I am going to a cloth nappy party in Jhb in August, never met any of the moms before but chat on cloth nappy fb page. Really interested in using cloth nappies and the designs are so cute. Can't wait to see the nappies and get more info, bit confused at the moment will all the fancy types!

Pregnancy going well, I'm 18 weeks and 1 day, can't believe how fast it is going. Can't wait for our scan on the 15th Aug. I've started to feel him kick, last night the kicks we aimed down below so had me jump a few times. I am looking huge, I am carrying the weight all over, just hoping I will lose all the weight easily when I breastfeed (I did with my son). I still can't believe its another boy because this pregnancy is totally different to my first. I'm craving farbs and have started baking muffins and biscuits which is really odd for me

Welcome to all the new ladies, I am so far behind in this forum so can't remember all the details, happy we can all share our exciting news together. Mommyme I hope you are doing ok now, you mustvhave been so worried. Joans i'm hoping to catch the expo in Jhb, let us know if it was worth it.

Well I better go, got way to much accounts work to do, how boring to be working on a Sunday!

Hello everyone!

Happy weekend :)

TCC84 nice to see a post from you :) hoping you get to find out gender soon! Your pics are too cute!

Joans, thanks for heads up re baba Indaba. I'm tempted to go but worried I'll end up buying unnecessary things! Also have a baby shower to go to tomorrow and taking my son out for the day on Sunday so don't know where to fit it in!

Welcome tandiswaselota and congrats on your pregnancy! Is this your first baby?

Apotgieter I also thought of getting a fetal monitor but like you, thought they were very pricey! What does ur son think of getting a baby sister?

Joans, meant to say its so cool that hubby felt baby! Baby kicks are the best feelings ever :)

I've inly felt flutterings but still not sure if it's just my imagination! Will probably know once I've felt the real thing again!

Had my root canal today and it was not too bad! Fingers crossed that it is sorted once they put the permanent filling in!

I'm getting anxious to see baby again since my last appt was at 13 weeks and my next one will be almost 19 weeks again!

Maybe I can do a quick peek a babe scan if they have them at baba Indaba ;)

Hope all u ladies have a lovely weekend
