My sister is also arranging a stork party for me, but this will be my second one so I've asked her to tone it down substantially and keep it very small. Unlike you, when I walk into BabyCity there isn't much that I still need. I have all the big things left over from last time, and we've purchased the smaller items over the last 4 months (new bottles, new dummies, etc).

In terms of clothing, Sept will still be cold so I'm doing winter clothes. Newborns can't regulate their body temperature, so the general rule of thumb is to dress them in layers, and always one more layer than you would put on for yourself. Socks are crucial, and a little beanie or hat, because you lose most of your body heat through your scalp.

Newborns and young babies grow rapidly, one mistake I made before was to buy too many clothes. Also, I had too many "cute" outfits that was really impractical and difficult to dress a small baby in. I'm sticking to baby grows for the first 6 weeks, I just need to work out how many and what sizes!

23 weeks for me now. Was just thinking, 13/14 weeks ago I was sick and miserable. 13/14 weeks from now my little man will be here! I can't believe it! 3 weeks from now I'll be booking my hospital bed, and packing my hospital bag soon thereafter. I've started preparing my little girl for the fact that mommy will be sleeping in the hospital for 3 nights, so far she's not to keen on the idea!

I'm doing good. No leaking boobs. But I definitely look pregnant, although my belly appears much larger when I wear dresses as opposed to pants & tops. I find it ok to turn around in bed, but I have started to get some ligament pain in my abdomen and inner thighs, and I have a sore back by the end of every day. The water retention has also started (a huge problem for me previously), but the heartburn is much better. My tummy is rock hard on certain days, to the point where it's very uncomfortable to sit at my desk. Then I feel like something is pushing upwards into my stomach and ribs, never mind the stretching sensation of my skin. My skin doesn't itch at all, I've been using BioOil and it seems to keep the skin nice and hydrated.

My next app is only on 15 June, still so faaar away. Have a good weekend, at least it's Friday

i finally felt the baby move its so beautiful, words can not explain how i feel , being pregnant is a blessing

Life has been a bit crazy, yesterday was my bday hubby got me roses and a new purse, love it.

we are busy preparing our mini traditional wedding in June. Nothing big just family and close friends, infact its not a wedding just a family celebration coz he will be finishing off the lobola and they will officially welcome me to his family. hope i make sense LOL

tomorrow i am going to babcity with my sisters inlaw to pick items for the baby shower gift register, they are the sweetest people ever. they are planning my baby shower bt i do not know the details

I have started shopping for the little one and i find it very confusing i dnt know how much of what to buy, in terms of sizes and how warm should the clothes be since it will be September. please help.

@ Kamogelo, one boobie leaking is totally normal. My one leaks MUCH more than the other and they leak 2 different colours. One that leaks the most leaks light yellow and the other dark orange (which is apparently normal... I initially thought it was mixed with blood).

I'm also struggling with switching sides at night and also mostly look like I've eaten way too much...so glad I'm not the only one with not-much-of-a-pregnant-looking-belly.

Baby is moving A LOT lately and even kicks me hard enough to wake me sometimes. Saw a ripple for the first time tonight in the tub; usually what I can see is just a twitch when he moves. Movements are getting nice and strong. I have a very short torso and even feel some kicks in my lower ribs sometimes.

Will be 25 weeks on Tuesday and seeing doc again on Wednesday for the first time in 5 weeks. Can't wait to see my little one again!

I must say my boobies have also started leaking but its actually one boob. is that strange?

I have also been experiencing an itchy tummy I also try so hard not to scratch but to rub it. I really dread the thought of having stretch marks.

I am about 22 weeks now and not really showing much, my tummy just looks as though I had a little to much to eat. My mother was saying to me today she doesn't know who gave me this body cause she looked like a huge elephant when she was pregnant. The only thing I can say I struggle with is sleeping at night. Having to turn sides is like a mission and half cause it feels like I am carrying a 5kg sack on my belly, but besides that I am ok enjoying feeling my lil boy move about.

Im exactly 24 weeks today. Time is ticking along...
I bought one of those long cushions to help me sleep. and it i love it... the only thing is DH complains its like having a 3rd person in our bed hahahaha

Im leaving on holiday next monday so i have been busy sorting stuff out. i cannot wait... I hope it is an easy flight. its not to long thankfully.

Has any of you tried Gaviscon for the heartburn? Its safe and works wonders... i have tried yet but im sure if its bad i will get some...
my belly has been itchy and is also very very hard. I am quite big now.. well i feel very big. Not much water retention but im told that starts in 3rd trimester.
When i get back from my holiday, i have my 3D scan booked for the next day and my Dr's app so im quite excited.
