@Pillpusher you have such a cute little bump and the name you have picked is just beautiful!

All your scans are making me so super excited to go for mine. I was meant to go on Monday but doc has decided to go away for the long weekend so now im having to wait until the Thursday (one day after my 32nd birthday) - im really hoping to find out the sex of this little one - it will be such an awesome birthday present, ive had bets going on and everyone says its a boy.

@LouiseMarie I have a friend who is currently going to Femina this will be her second pregnancy there and asked her on facebook for some insight on how they are, her response was as follows: They are absolutely fantastic, really! So I think you have chosen a really good hospital!

As for clothes I was browsing MRPrice online store and they have some seriously awesome clothes for maternity will hopefully pop in there this weekend but I did pop into Pick n pay and they have the most awesome Jeggings (they are warmer than the lycra leggings) in all different colours for R179.99, just took a look at there website to see if I could show you a picture but they don't have. - Im such a bargain buyer I hate knowing ill spend lots of money on clothes that Ill only wear for a few months.

HVDB - Congratulations on your wedding!!! Your dress was beautiful!

Pillpusher, I'm curious about this anomaly scan... Can't remember having it done with my LG, but then again I went to Fetal Assesment Centre (Pta East) at 12 and 16 weeks for something similar. Now that I'm with a new gynae I have NO idea what to expect... I do know Femina has a Fetal Medicine Centre - but don't think it's the same as the FAC. Would to go for one though... just to get that EXTRA reassurance.

Was funny reading your comment about the maternity clothes Clueless... I'm currently 15 weeks and I already sit my maternity pants FULL! I'm of healthy/normal BMI, gained about 1kg, but my tummy is equal in size to my friend who is currently 27 weeks...with her 3rd! It's the weirdest thing...but I feel very lucky! Just wish that I can feel some definite movements now
With my first I only started to show @ 6 months...this time around I already started showing @ 6 weeks.

Juanita, my daughter is also 5 now - so we're in the same boat! Prefer it this way...I would not have been able to manage a baby and a toddler - I take my hat off to parents who does though...

@Clueless – yay for the house! All the best for moving, I do NOT envy you that Good to see a nice update from you. I bought tights at Edgars, got a two pack in small/medium and another in medium/large. I wore one of the medium/large ones yesterday, it's a bit on the big size (band comes almost up to my bra ) I basically just bought clothes that were a size bigger and loose-fitting. There's one shirt that I bought that I haven't worn yet 'cause it's very loose fitting and I think I need to be a bit bigger before it looks more "normal".

Anomaly scan done – Eliana is a healthy little girl. Technician was a bit worried at one point about blood flow from me through the placenta, but then found an artery which gave a better reading. Got to see her suckling and swallowing amniotic fluid. And we waved at mommy and daddy. So in love

Hi and welcome LouiseMarie! Unfortunately I dont have any experience with Netcare Femina. I will be giving birth at Netcare Sunninghill again, since my gynae is there, even though with us moving, Olivedale would have been closer. I was very happy with them last time, and it is not TOO far on the highway.

HVDB, those are gorgeous pics! Both your little one as well as the wedding pic. WOW you looked beautiful! It is so good to hear you had a wonderful day!

I am quite envious, Swakopmund is one of our absolute favourite holiday destinations. As a kid I had family living there, and we used to holiday there for Christmas every 2 years. After our wedding I took hubby there and he fell in love with the place too. We have been meaning to take our daughter, but going to Nam really requires a 2 week holiday (if you drive) to make it worth the expense and distance, and we have not had enough leave time (or holiday funds) available to do the trip with our little girl yet. But maybe after LG2 comes along, who knows...

Pillpusher and LauzMayer, you are right, it is SO cold here in JHB! I feel miserable because of the cold, and being cold all day, and had a huge fight with hubby last night just because I have been cold and uncomfortable and tired the whole day. And then he decided to comment that the larger tops I bought at Woolies yesterday do not look good since they are too big for me. Ummm. Poor man really needs to choose his moments better if he is going to comment on my (very limited, it turns out) choice of maternity wear.

Speaking of which, where are you ladies buying clothes, btw? And what do you buy? I was at Woolies yesterday, hoping to buy tights/stretch pants and long tops, but the large tights are WAY to big around my middle. And this was NOT maternity wear I'm only starting to show now, so I'm in that zone where my normal work pants are getting too tight (and uncomfortable to wear for a whole day), but maternity clothes (or bigger clothes) are really too large still. Which shops have nice long tights that will last through the winter?

Pillpusher, all of the best with the anomaly scan! Will hold thumbs and I'm sure everything will be great!! I'm preaching to myself too, as I'm already stressing about mine, in 2 weeks time Please come update us with pics and details!

AFM, I'm sure I can feel LG move! It is different from my first pregnancy though, I'm not really feeling kicks or "bubbles", but more that "hol kol op die maag" (apologies for the AFR phrase, I have no English term for this) that you get when baby turns around. I'm hoping it will get stronger soon and I can start feeling bumps as well. Also, our house has been sold and we are moving to the bigger place probably at the end of the month. Very exciting and very scary!

@pillpusher... no we are keeping the sex a surprise as the whole pregnancy was planned (IUI)

Hubby took my too Namibia, we slept over in Windhoek and then we drove to Swakopmund... and he booked us at Desert Breeze... the most beautiful lodge I have seen in a long time. We have been to Swakop about 2 years ago when we went traveling through Nam and Bots with a camping trailer, but this time he wanted some luxury... it was so amazing. The wedding went off without a hitch... the most perfect event I have ever planned, wish that the corporate events could be that way.

Hope everyone is well. It was icy in JHB on Friday, Lauz.meyer. I flew in early in the morning and left in the evening for a meeting pertaining to my PhD. As my promoter and I walked through the flyover, our breath was vaporising!

Also 21 weeks today. Saw my gynae (for the last time, from now on I'll be seeing the delivering doctor) today and confirmed that we're having a girl All looking good, little one had her head on her hand and legs out straight right under her body. We'll have better scan images tomorrow after the anomaly scan though.
