Hi Ladies.....

Welcome to all the newbies, love the fact that we are getting more everyday! I am back from Honeymoon... and wow.... it was sooooooo awesome! If you girls want, I can post a photo of me in my dress on my wedding day and a photo of our view from our Honeymoon destination which was a surprise and kept secret till the last minute. but if you girls feel this is not the place I will give it a skip. As for my precious little one! Went for a scan today. 21 weeks... and this little monkey is moving and kicking up a storm for the last week... I am sure that monkey didn't want the honeymoon to end as I have been feeling baby at least 4-6 times a day the last week. Now the wait for another 4 weeks till the next appointment.

How are you ladies doing? All strong and healthy? All the flu's gone I hope!

Its so frikken cold this morning in Jhb car temp said -1.5C!! Even though im pregnant im feeling the cold big time, which everyone cant understand.

Its been a hectic two weeks for me, with my auditors, my LG having a stomach bug, myself with a severe cold its been just too much for me, only now have read up on everyones comments!

Firstly welcome to the new ladies.

@Lillyr, I am thinking of you, and am hoping you are better and taking it easy.
@HVDB doesn't it all feel so much more real now that everything is booked When exactly are you getting married or are you already???

@Candypops I thought I felt my little one move last week Monday but now im not too sure if it was baby or just a muscle spasm lol, its such an awesome feeling! Cant believe both you and HVDB will be having your babies on the same day!

I had natural with epidural with my first so would like to do it again with this little one, but I will be prepared for both, like I was with my first. I just hope this time round baby decides to come out during the day and not a 1am in the morning!

@Pillpusher, hitting that paro state myself now as all im experiencing is a headache and with the cold I had was so worried something had happened as I had such a terrible coughing fit and couldn't breathe, went mad googling it and reading how you can stop oxygen to the baby etc. will just have to wait for my next scan to be reassured and now thanks to your comment I feel a slight bit better. Hope you are feeling better and flu-free
Regarding weight I have picked up 4kg and im 15 weeks. Ive picked up a little more than what I did with my first and in total picked up 11kg so im hoping not to go past 11kg again and am finally getting myself back into gym and doing a really awesome routine I found online. Jessica smith TV workouts. I am in love with her stretch routine.

@Clueless so glad to hear that all is good, they say second time round you can feel baby earlier, but im not too sure, im pretty much in the same boat as you, the only thing I do feel is a heavy pressure feeling and slight bubbles but then again like you say not sure if its just gas build up or not

@louiseMarie welcome so you going to have another November baby so awesome! Unfortunately I stay in Jhb so cant help you there but I have seen a lot of people discussing the Femina hospital, hope its nothing but good news

Hi Moomies!

I'm new to the group... Currently 14 weeks pregnant (will be 15 on Saturday) with baby #2. My little girl is already turning 6 in November, so it's been a while

@ Clueless: I was at Netcare Pta East with my first, and yes - we also got all that stuff. The bag we only got with the birth (during my stay in the hospital). It had some nappies, ointments, wipes etc etc in - more stuff for baby.

We were advised to buy "my" hospital bag at their pharmacy, which had everything in there for mommie & some stuff or baby. Think it was priced @ R250 that time...

This time around we're going to Netcare Femina, but I have no idea how they actually work. I know they also have the Baby Passport with the 4D scan, but no idea if they actually give you a baby goodie bag or not?

I phoned them last week, and I'm only able to go book my bed from 26 weeks and then take the hospital tour. What sucks is that they only have their hospital tours @ 2pm on a Tuesday... So it's a bit of an inconvenience for me and Hubby, as he works all the way in Centurion.

I'm dying to find as much info as possible on Femina... Their website doesn't give any "inside info"...

We had the most amazing experience @ Pta East, even if is was an Emergency C-Section, so I would love to have the same experience again.

If anyone that's been there can maybe give feedback?

How are all the mommies doing? It has gone so quiet here...

Pillpusher and Candypops, that's awesome!!. How many weeks are you now? I can't wait to feel LG move, but so far I have not been able to distinguish any possible movements from gassy symptoms. I am actually starting to wonder if baby moving could CAUSE gassy symotoms by pressing on intestines... I guess I will just have to wait! Pillpusher, so sorry you are down with flu. My whole family had it and in the end my dr put me on Augmentin to stop it from going into my lungs. Gynae was quite happy with the use of antibiotics under the circumstances so I try not to worry.

Candypops, I'll be having a Caesar as my LG was born via caesar 2 years ago. It was, for me, a very good experience. I did have time to get used to the idea, my gynae had warned me from early on that it may be in the cards for me, and at my 38 week checkup he could see that baby was starting to run out of oxygen so sent me home to go pack and come back immediately. I think the fact that I had been able to get my head in the right space about it beforehand, and knew more or less what to expect (as opposed to a completely unplanned caesar) helped a lot. Recovery was much less painful and quicker than I had anticipated, and I am hoping it will be the same this time round.

Had my 16 week checkup on Monday (I'll be 17 weeks on Friday). Everything looks normal and thankfully uneventful. Placenta is not in the way and there is ample fluid at this stage.

Do any of you moms go to (or plan labour in) a Netcare hospital? Last time we could get a "Passport" that included a 4D scan as well as parking for dad and a goody bag. But now I can't remember how and where to get it.

Hi ladies. My weekend started early, but not for a good reason. Been hit with the flu and am still woman down on the bright side, lots of lying down has given me time to focus on my bump and I felt my munchkin on Friday. Tried playing music for her on Saturday morning and she kicked again, my husband could actually feel the little thump against his hand

@lillyr: OMG! I was thinking about your last incident of bed rest this morning and thinking about how scared I would be and then to hear this! Glad to hear that little one is ok. Will be praying for you

@HVDB: all the best for your wedding! Such an exciting time in your lives. I thought I felt the munchkin move, but it was just gas Still waiting for that fluttering feeling. But I've got a suspicion that my placenta is anterior... which would mean it will take that much longer to feel Maybe I'll find out at my scan next week. I was getting paranoid (again) last night because my boobs weren't as tender, but reading up on google and seeing a lot of women having waxing and waning symptoms was reassuring.

@Clueless: thanks for the link. According to that calculator I should be about 3kg lighter at this point, but I'm not going to let it bother me. My gynae just said "Well you're almost half way" when I saw her at 16 weeks and commented that I'd gained 5kg. I feel frustrated that I didn't get to go to gym yesterday though. I'm really trying to stay active!

@Candypops: I'm hoping for a natural birth. Doing those squats to strengthen the core! But I'm going to keep an open mind because ultimately baby will determine the best course of action!

Quite happy that we got another cot. My friend sold me hers for R800. Nice, big and sturdy! It was quite sweet 'cause her daughter was asking her what she was doing when she was unpacking it and moving it to their lounge and she told her that Aunty Judy was coming to look at it because she's having a baby. Her daughter said "But that's Caiden's bed" (her twin brother). She responded that Caiden has his own big boy bed and my baby will need somewhere to sleep. The response: "Or the baby could just come live with us!" When DH and I went to fetch the cot after having looked at it a few days before (with my husband absolutely falling in love with the twins), my friend said that we were coming over again and her daughter said: "She's got a baby in her tummy". Too cute.
