Yes, I did do the screening. My paranoia has been at an all time high since I heard the news of my pregnancy and it seems like I've been thinking that something will go wrong so I was very worried about DS. Hopefully I'll stop worrying so much soon – just want to feel my baby move!

I've had a frustrating morning. Been dealing with a pathology lab and my medical aid because the referring doctor gave the wrong details to the path lab for my account and they claimed the service from my old scheme (that I resigned from over three years ago!). I got very frustrated with the path lab and sent them (and the Medicross branch that started the problem) a stinking email and told them to sort their nonsense out! Don't mess with the pregnant lady

@ pillpusher.. so sweet of your hubby. Everything will be fine dear, hang in there. Did you have it done(DS screeening)?

Hi all

My husband made an effort to calm me down after Friday's news. Had a candlelit bubble bath ready for me when I got home, warmed my PJs up, made me hot chocolate and got a comedy out for us to watch. Then he organised with my mom to take me out on Saturday evening to chat.

Glad that those who went to the expo enjoyed it.

@Lillyr, the DS screening is entirely optional. My SIL decided not to do it because her doctor warned her that it could be stressful and she felt that she didn't need an extra worry having miscarried just before she fell pregnant with my nephew. It's the blood test to check levels of certain markers and then the screening U/S to measure the nuchal folds.

My preoccupation at the moment is waiting to feel the munchkin. Been feeling lots of gas bubbles for the last 40 minutes or so, but (TMI) also passed a little gas so am not sure. It seems a bit much for normal gas movements and not all the same

i am back, everything went well. Baby was hiding deep in my pelvis, so dr struggled to get nice measurements too.

@Aden,tell me more about the screening test. my dr asked me if i want to do them, and honestly i dont know. I just did the normal test. So is it necessary to do the screening tests? I thought it would be compulsory or somethng? I really didnt know what the answer should be to that question. Congratulations- I am glad you are excited about your little girl. Did you confirm the gender thru the screening test? or gynae told you?

my gynae thinks we might be having a girl again, but said she cant confirm for sure. I am hoping for a little boy, but i guess a girl is ok too.

I am so jealous of you guys living in Jburg/Pretoria... you had the expo nice and early in your pregnancy! Our Cape Town expo is only end of July!

I went for my 12 week screening scan last Thursday and all was well. Pathcare lost my blood that was so supposed to be analysed with this scan but the Doc said my risk is so low I don't need to go for another blood test! Halleluja!!!! I hate needles and have a panic attack each time.

We are having a girl (95% certainty)! So we are very excited! She is a busy one! She would not lie still for one minute, that Doc struggled to get all het measurements done! We are very excited now!

My DH and I went to look at strollers etc this weekend. Just to get a feel for what we want etc. and wow!!! There are too many to choose from! Haha!

morning ladies

the expo! goodness me! there were so many lovely things, i just couldnt resist..**hides** We ended up buying a cot, we just fell in love with it from the moment we saw it. and somehow, we got it at the chepest price possible, as soon as we signed our paperwork, the price shot up..LOL. I totally love it. I also bought 1 onesie with a hoodies, and receiving blankets. lovely unisex colours. I had so much fun and i cant wait for our little baby to arrive.
