Babies born April / May 2016

@ Sons, Rosalie is on Nido and gets a bottle of it in the morning and a bottle in the evening. In between she gets Rooibos tea, juice and water. She dropped her morning nap a few months ago and her nap time is from 1-3pm but sometimes she wants to sleep at 12. Her eating schedule is as follows: 8am breakfast, 10:30 snack, 12 lunch, 3:15 snack, 6pm supper and then a very small snack at 7pm just before bed. Maybe feed his lunch a little earlier and try to stretch him till just after the early lunch. It's so difficult when their naps change. Yes those motorbikes are so cute! I am sure he is speedy

Rosalie walked in while I was making a wee on day and then I said mommy is making a pee pee on the potty. She must have clicked because since then she said pee pee and wanted to sit on the toilet. I have a Bumbo rubber potty seat that fits onto the toilet so whenever she asked I put her on the potty. A few days later she made a very small pee pee in the potty and I made a big fuss of her. About a week or so after doing that during the day she would say pee pee just as she was making a wee in her nappy and then wouldn't want the nappy on. So from there I took her nappy off and every 30 minutes I would put her on the potty even if she didn't need it but most of the times she did. All of a sudden she didn't want nappies on at all and told me when she wants to use the potty but I still put her on the potty before and after a nap/sleep. She was fully potty trained 18 months but she was ready.
I think the signs are that they become interested in the potty and realises when or just before they are going to make a wee. Then also when they do not want even a slight nappy or even a dry nappy on. Good luck, I am happy that it was just easy for me.

Lasly not sure about the dentist as Rosalie hates us even looking into her month and doubt that she will allow the dentist to check. Think I will wait till she is a bit older and has more teeth as she only has 12, haha

@Blou I'm glad to hear that all is well with baba and that you getting a girl. I can only imagine how excited you must be, it's like a whole new experience all together. Enjoy mama.

@Sons I no longer give Leano milk, she just has rooibos tea during the night and we try to give her as much water as possible during the day. Luckily she loves her water. We have not taken her to the dentist yet, her mouth is already filling up with teeth. I will ask her Doctor at her 2yr check up if we should. For her 2nd bday we are just gonna go to Papachinos they have quite a nice play area there. We will have a proper big party when she turns 3.

Who's little ones still drink milk (breast or formula)? Connor still drinks breastmilk but slowly starting to wean himself I think. Not sure what to do when he weans completely...do I do formula or just leave milk altogether? We are struggling a bit with his schedule in the afternoon as he started wanting to nap from 12 till 3 in the afternoon so he basically skips lunch or we give him late lunch after he wakes up but then he is not so hungry at supper time...
Connor started riding one of those little scooters and he loves it to bits!! He looks like he has been riding one for years lol he is so good!!

MamaK - I am sure your little one will love play group. They say its harder on mommies than on the little ones!! Dont stress all will be okay! We are also on that line of "if it happens it happens" lol! We are not trying for number 2 but yeah...."if it happens it happens" LOL

Jay-bee - WOW congrats on the pregnancy so happy for you!! Sounds like you have your hands full with that feisty little girl! How on earth did you get it right that she self potty trained?? I dont even know where to start with Connor!! or what signs to look out for!! Right now nappies still is the in thing hahaha! Good luck with your scan!!

Blou - Glad things are better at work! Connor is the same when things dont go his way or he gets stuck with something. All I can do is try to help him to help himself so he can see he does no have to get so upset! Its difficult to see them so upset but I try to see it as growing pains lol! Connor loves songs and music videos he dances to them so cute!! Glad your scan went well and babs is healthy!! Gongrats on the little girl so happy for you!! I also want a wee little girl next!

On a tooth note...did anyone take their little ones for dentist appointments?? I was wondering if I should take Connor for a check up...this coming from a mommy that has not seen a dentist in aaaaages LOL

Almost forgot... can you all believe our little ones is almost 2??? Are there any party ideas starting?? I am trying to think of what I am going to do so exciting ... I am loving baby parties hehehe...

@ Blou, congrats on the beautiful and that she is happy and healthy. Girls are such a gift and a handful too

I am waiting patiently for my dating scan on the 2 Feb and feels like years away.

Hello ladies! Just an update from me

We had our 20 week ultrasound appointment on Saturday and all looks great with baby! The lips are perfectly formed, so we are super happy about that! We are always worried about that because my husband and his father were both born with cleft lip and palate, so it seems to run in their family. Everything looks healthy and right on track, baby was moving a lot in there, so cute!

We also found out that we are expecting a beautiful baby girl!!!! I cannot tell you how excited I am, my dream of having a daughter is finally coming true, I was in tears when I found out, so so happy! Our little boy is having a baby sister

@ Blou, oh wow 20w already, you must be super excited to find out the gender and I am sure bubs is perfectly healthy. Yes this heat is hectic! I am actually not feeling pregnant except for this terrible thirst and bloating. I have my dating scan on the 2 Feb but according to my calculations my due date is the 14/15 Sept.

@Sonsbaby, thank you so much! Things are better at work, I think they are used to the idea now, I feel much better, and if they are still upset it does not bother me as much, they just have to deal with it. Our 12 week scan went very well, all was fine with baby and baby looked very healthy and very busy in there!

@MamaK, thank you! I am sure play school will go well! Try not to stress about it too much. You will know when the time is right to ttc, although it is also hard when you are new at a company and have to tell them you are pregnant, so that is also something to think about. I really want to change jobs as well, but will have to wait until after I had my baby, as I don't think companies love to hire pregnant women, haha.

@Jay-Bee01, oh my word congratulations!!! That is wonderful news! How are you feeling? When is your due date?

Regardt is also growing so fast it is just crazy. It also feels like we are struggling with early terrible two's and tantrums, it is so hard as he also gets very upset when he cannot do something or have something, and it really makes me sad, he loves music and watching music videos on YouTube, but he gets so upset every time a song is finished, haha it is actually quite funny.

He is also eating very well and I am so happy about that, the best is to see how he eats vegetables, although some nights are better than others, haha.

He has also transitioned to just one nap a day, although some days when he is very tired he will take 2 shorter naps. He started at creche last week, and there they only sleep once a day so he is getting used to it. It is very hard to leave him there everyday and we are still getting used to it, but it seems he is enjoying the friends and playing outside, so I think it is good for him in terms of socializing with other children. He does cry when I drop him off which is heartbreaking. But I am sure it will get better.

He is still sleeping in his cot, so not in a bed yet, he also still wakes up once a night, so maybe we should try a bed and see if he sleeps better, so far he has not tried to escape his cot.

He is doing okay with words, but still only saying single words, not sentences yet, he is babbling a lot, and most of it we do not understand, but it is very cute.

AFM, I will be 20 weeks pregnant tomorrow, so already halfway there, I cannot believe how time is flying! We had a 16 week appointment with our midwife in December, and all looked well. We are very excited about this Saturday, I will be going for my 20 week scan, so we are just praying that all is well with baby and that he or she is very healthy. We are hoping to find out the gender on Saturday as well, so that is very exciting.

Other than that, also just trying to survive this heat, and trying to be positive about being back at work, but this will be an exciting year for us with a few things to look forward to.
